I wake up under the weight of Amory’s stare, with her two-year-old daughter asleep on my chest still… You know what? Fuck that! Our two-year-old… We’ve just spent the last two and a half years raising her together! “Mi Amor, what’s wrong, Amory?” (my love) I say when I see the look of determination on her face.

“I’m tired of hiding, this was never me”, she says as she points to her now black hair. “I did this to hide the fact that Gabby’s hair color was from her father and not me. I need to be me again”! I know this is the truth, we had this conversation over a year ago when she started dying her hair black. It was always pink prior to that, and I didn’t know until then that she was actually blonde naturally, like platinum blonde.
