AN EXTRAVAGANT GIFT

Back at Fang mansion

In contrast to the depressing atmosphere in Han Mansion, the atmosphere in the Fang Mansion was lively and the air was filled with happiness and excitement from the reunion of long-time separated friends, family, and siblings.

Jessica, Amy, Ron, and Samuel were sitting on the couch in the living room chatting happily and refreshing memories of the past. They were unaware of the two people who were watching them from afar.

Mr. and Mrs. Fang were watching the children with eyes filled with adoration and love from the second floor. It was a rare opportunity as all the children were together and happy. Today even their eldest son, who was five years elder than Amy and was known as a stone-hearted and cold person, also appeared to be the happiest person on the earth.

"I hope this scene would freeze and never come to an end. I wish these smiles to never disappear from their faces. Look how cute they look," whispered Mother Fang her eyes still focused on the group of people downstairs.

"I also wish for the same... but it seems impossible. Time never stops. It feels like it was yesterday when they met for the first time. Now they are all grown up They now are busy with their own life, no time for chilling and talking like this..." They both fell silent.

It was true that life was not the same. Jessica's mother and their family friend have passed away. All of the children were now grown up. It was time for them to settle down in life and work for their families.

"Why don't you try explaining Mr. Han. I am sure he will listen to your advice, after all, you both are college friends..." said Mother Fang.

"I...I tried but he is not ready to hear me out. I doubt that Old Han is aware of this. He would surely help Jessica out... Han is no more the same Han we knew from our college. He has changed for the worse... I just hope that old Han could come up with a solution and Jessica is happy... She is my baby girl, but I can not help her..." replied Father Fang, his eyes brimming with tears.

Mother Fang slowly patted his back as she stared at the kids happily chatting.

The next morning Jessica decided to go back to her family's mansion as she just received a call from her grandfather informing her about the banquet arranged for her return. She was touched by the thoughtfulness of her grandfather. He surely adores her with all his heart. When asked to come home she instantly agreed, making the old man reach cloud nine.

After ending her call with her grandfather she freshened up and decided to go shopping with Amy as she had not bought any party wear when she returned. Jessica looked stunning in her casual blue jeans and white checked t-shirt.

"You look like a fairy, Jessica. Only if you were a man I would have married you." Amy said with a sigh.

They enjoyed a simple breakfast and went shopping accompanied by Mother Fang. The three set out to one of the biggest malls in the city-'The Emperor'. They shopped for almost three hours purchasing dresses, shoes, make-up, and skincare products. After a lot of shopping, they sat down in a small restaurant across the road. The stuff they purchased was kept inside their car, as they enjoyed their meal.

.............................

In the evening, Han Mansion

The house was filled with liveliness. Grandfather was ordering the servants around. The banquet was in an hour, grandfather was so nervous yet excited to see his precious granddaughter for today's banquet. The last time he saw her was on the day of her departure to the States.

Soon the banquet started and the house was filled with people chatting with each other. some talked about their businesses, while some talked about their children's marriage alliance.

Suddenly, everyone struck in awe and stared at the young lady in a beautiful long blue dress. The dress was the latest Channel design and suited the girl-like lotus perfectly. The young girl was none other than Jia second young miss of the Han family. she walked elegantly with her father on her side. Her smile was filled in innocence which made all the young masters present there to admire her with adoration and affection.

"Your daughter is filled with elegance and beauty. I am so jealous of you Mrs. Han."

"I wish I could have a daughter like yours."

"Right, see the way she walks her actions are very gentle and undeniably graceful."

"When do you plan to get her married. I want to make her my daughter-in-law for sure Mrs. Han."

All the ladies around Mother Han started complimenting her and her daughter. Mother Han had a huge smile on her face when she saw her beautiful and youthful daughter and her smile grew bigger when she heard the praises of the other ladies. 'It is impossible for that daughter of the b*tch to take the place of her daughter without the financial support from the Han family. huh..'

As soon the feet of Jia landed on the last stair she was crowded by many people, who were buttering her and were trying to curry favor with her. She gently smiled at all and excused herself, going to her mother.

"Mom! Why is that b*tch not here? I want to see her embarrassed look when she comes in some rags." Jia said with a hint of disgust in her voice.

She thought too highly of herself even to take the name of Jessica, who was just a lowly creature in her eyes.

"She must be here anytime. You better behave and not speak this nonsense in front of your grandfather or he will surely be angry." Her mother warned her again.

All were busying talking when a Mercedes-Benz Maybach entered the main gate and parked outside the door. An exquisite girl stepped out of the car's backseat, dressed in a breathtaking royal blue, off-shoulder lace dress matched with uncut diamond jewelry and elegant blue heels.

As she entered the mansion accompanied by the young miss Fang, Amy she had a dazzling smile on her face. Everyone in the room was amazed by the girl's undeniable beauty and a smile that made them blind. everyone stood drop-dead on their spot not wanting to make a noise as if the person would disappear if they even blinked or even whispered.

"MY PRECIOUS GRANDDAUGHTER!!!!" said the Old Master while walking down the stairs in a rush. Everyone's eyes traveled between the Old Master and the Beauty as they were confused.

"How's this possible. It is said that the second young miss of the Han family is an ugly girl." one of the ladies said.

"Yeah, I heard that the second young miss was abroad after her mother died. It was said that she is very bad-looking" said another guest.

"Did she had plastic surgery?" said another person.

"no that's not possible she had no financial support. How could she get plastic surgery?" one of the ladies voiced out her thoughts.

The Old Master ignored the irrelevant talks going around and engulfed his precious granddaughter in his embrace.

"This kid. You almost forgot about me. You even did not call me when you came back. You are so bad." With misty eyes, he saw his precious granddaughter in front of him. She looked just like her deceased mother in that dress.

"Grandpa, I also missed you. I was planning to call you when I received your call. And see am I not here after all." Jessica said with an angelic smile on her face. The Old Master patted the loose hair of his granddaughter and gestured her to follow him on the stage that was fixed especially for today's banquet.

On reaching the stage he took Jessica's soft hand in his and said, "ATTENTION ladies and gentlemen, this beautiful and gorgeous lady right next to me is my granddaughter, the queen of this banquet. This banquet was to welcome her home. She has returned after seven years and I wish to give you a gift Jessica." He said as he looked at the girl next to him with teary eyes. After looking for a brief period he turned back to the crowd eager for a response.

"Jessica, today I want to give you fifty percent of shares in the company that I own. Also, you will get ten percent of the company share as your legal right. I declare you as the sole heir of my company and family." The old master said as the crowd stood still. The gift was too extravagant for all.

Keeping their mouth shut they walked towards the old man with a stiff smile and congratulated Jessica on her return. After greeting and congratulating they moved back to their places, the smile on their face almost disappeared as they sat.

Jessica could not help but smile on seeing the disgust in their eyes as if she had committed the serious crime of murdering their nine generations.

'These people think I am afraid of them. Only if it was not my grandpa's gift I would have thrown these properties in their face. I am in no need of this property. They don't know what I own is a hundred times better than this useless property of theirs'.' Jessica thought to herself as all the people around her slowly got dispersed.

She was still lost in her thoughts when someone took her in a tight embrace and murmured something close to her ear. Hearing the person's voice she stood rooted in her place and a cold light passed through her eyes, however, no one noticed any change in her expression as she composed herself in a second.

"Sister!" Jia said in an extremely sugar-sweet voice of hers. "Welcome back, I missed you soooo much."

'huh?! You are sure good at acting' Amy, who was standing beside Jessica could not help but sneer in her heart. She had heard a chunk of what Jia murmured in Jessica's ear and it was enough for her to be willing to punch the face of Jia.

"Welcome back, dear" it was Jessica's father who spoke in collaboration with Jia's mother, who was just a few feet away from them.

"After the banquet, I want to have a talk with you, so don't go before that." Mr. Han said in a serious voice with a small and stiff smile on his face. Hearing this Jessica wanted to just beat the crap out of this person. How could he treat his daughter like this? But what surprised her a little was that he spoke this when she was with the old master, the ultimate head of the household. He was dead...

Her grandfather who stood next to her was angry and spoke up, "You useless scum, you have no right to control her. She is not your daughter. Remember you chose a piece of coal instead of a diamond. You abandoned her. You are such a heartless human to treat your daughter like garbage when she needed you as her father the most and now you want to talk when she has what you have been eyeing for a long time. Just get out of my sight before I do something I may regret." Jessica held the old master's hand before he lost control. The old master looked at Jessica, his eyes held regret.

Regret letting Jessica leave seven years ago. Regret for not beating his so-called son to death. Regret for not throwing his cheater son out of the house. Regret raising such a son he was ashamed to call his.

The Old master was surely angry and disappointed with his son. His son had not only not attended the funeral of Jessica's mom but also bought home his mistress and a child back home hurting Jessica even more. He still remembered the look of betrayal and hurt in the eyes of an 18-year-old, who was already very hurt and left the house she had spent her most at on the very next day of her mother's death. At that time he wanted to hang his son and the people he had bought back on the spot. But he was bonded by the promise he once gave to Jessica. She had asked him to never harm anyone for her and he would never go back on his words.

Hearing the words of his father, Jessica's father was embarrassed and he bowed his head down trying to suppress his anger. 'I would surely return this humiliation back to you one day, Jessica.' he swore in his heart as he gave a hatred-filled look to Jessica, who in return just smiled a little.
