CHAPTER NINE: Little Reunion

Han finally pull into my father's garage after a long drive and I turn to Maureen.

" We are here " I said and she smiles tiredly.

We both get out from the car han following us.

I hit the doorbell and after some minutes my father wearing an apron opens the door.

He was so surprised but yet excited to see me, as he look pass me to Maureen and han he creases his face in confusion.

He however open the door wider to let us in.

I hug him tightly after stepping into the warm living room.

" I miss you so much " I said as I hug him.

He patted me on my back and releases his hold on me.

One thing I love about my dad, he always did what he has to and ask questions later.

He exchange greetings with both han and Maureen and offer them a seat.

He smile politely to them.

" You arrive at the right time, i was about to make dinner. I will surely make meal for all of us. " he said smiling . He excuse himself and walk towards the small hall leading to the kitchen.

" Come, let me show you the guest room " I said to Maureen and she stood up to follow me.

I lead the way to the my room and I am grateful it was very tidy.

I smile grateful, one of the advantages of having a great father who prefer to do the cleaning by himself and refuses a maid.

My pictures hung on every wall of the room.

" This is your room and not a guest room " Maureen said and I nodded.

" You're free to stay here for the time being. Before you concluded to go back home. " I said to her reassuringly.

" where will you sleep then ? " Maureen asked innocently.

I smile.

" I had to go back, I got a shooting Early tomorrow. " I replied her and she nodded.

" you can get yourself cleaned up. My clothes will fit you right because we are just as slim as a twin " I said and she laughs.

" thanks God you're a model Jillian because you won't do any good if you have been a professor " She said jokingly.

I stare at her for sometime before laughing happily.

" You know me ?" I asked her surprised.

She look at me as though I'm crazy.

" Of course, Who wouldn't know the super model of claw foot club ? " She replied and I smile once again.

I'm excited and surprised but I shouldn't have been.

I know I'm famous too but being recognized by one of the Mayor's family makes me proud.

" Make yourself comfortable. I will go in to the kitchen to explain things to my dad " I said and she smiles in response.

She's a beautiful lady. I stepped out leaving her alone to clean up.

I walk to the kitchen to meet my dad.

" You're thinner than the last time we met " he says as he saw me comes in.

" I'm not. " I said defensively

He stop what he was doing and look at me.

" what's going on baby ? " he asked.

I sighed deeply and lean against the counter.

" That's Maureen Mayor " I told him.

" I'm not blind. I Know who she is. " he replied looking at me waiting for an explanation.

" Dad it's about Zach wanting to kill Maureen " I said tiredly.

I don't have the strength to explain so I go straight to the point.

My father's Expression was the one of confusion.

" Zachary Mike ? " he asked confused.

" Yes, Zach and I had been seeing each other for sometime. He ask me out and we have been to lunch and dinner once. I visited him this evening wanting to surprise him with my acceptance of agreeing to be his woman but when I get there I saw him strangling Maureen " I narrated to my father whose face shows great surprise.

" He must have a lot of nerve for strangling Maureen Mayor. Isn't he scared of the aftermath of the outcome ?. Her brother won't let him alone if he has succeeded in killing her " my dad replied thoughtfully.

" but why's she here ? " He asked me.

" She doesn't want to go home now. I'm sure there's more to the story but all I want is for her to be safe and I'm sure she will be safe here " I replied tiredly.

My dad nodded thoughtfully.

He pull me into his embrace once again and I smile.

I have miss him a lot, I have anticipated on our meeting but meeting under this ugly circumstance isn't what I had wish for.

" The first aid kit please " I said as he releases me.

" For your chauffeur ? How did he get ...? " he asked but I interrupted.

" Zach and him get into a fight as Maureen and I fled his home. He saved us from him " I explained.

I saw my father sigh in relief.

" I wouldn't Know what I would have done if anything had happen to you " He said caressing my cheek.

I smile and nodded, of course he would have been devastated if anything happens to his only child.

He handed me the first aid kit and smile.

" Go ahead " He said and I received the kit from him and walk into the living room where han was sitting.

I sat beside him and open up the kit.

I turn to look at him but he bow his head.

I stare at him longer and for the first time I realized he was very handsome.

His brown brilliant eyes stare at me uneasily before he look away.

" I will help myself Miss Jillian " He said quietly.

I reach out to him and held his hand looking into his eyes.

" Thanks a lot for helping me out. " I said to him.

He nodded and look away.

" I will help you clean your wound. So don't stress me further by refusing my help " I said smiling tiredly.

My phone buzz from my bag and I stare at it in surprise.

I even remember to bring my bag from the car after a ugly

I brought out my cellphone and saw Larry's name on the screen.

I wonder why he's calling, probably because I'm taking too long to return. 

" Hi " I mumbled.

" Jilly where are you? Mr Zach is here waiting for you and only God knows why he's very determined to wait for you even if you return twenty years later " he said urgently.

" Waiting ? " I asked in surprise and han look at me as if getting the idea of what's going on.

" Yes, please come back home before he kill someone because he appears very mad " Larry says urgently.

I figured he has call me secretly.

" I'm on my way " I Said to Larry and hung up.

I look at han and he waited for me to say something.

" We have to go han " I said to him and he stood up immediately
