CHAPTER FIVE

As the morning light filtered through the spacious apartment, Anna slowly opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. She had spent the night with her newly found heartthrob, Edmond. She couldn't believe that she fell in love with the same person she wanted to share his secrets with the public. As she stretched her limbs, she couldn't help but smile at the thought of how lucky she felt to have such an energetic and handsome man in her life.

"What about my research? I can't give up on that," She thought to herself.

"Good morning, sunshine," Edmond said, his face beaming with smiles.

"Hope you slept well?" He asked, his voice low and smooth.

"I did, thank you," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Edmond sat up and stretched his muscular arms, Anna couldn't help but admire the way his biceps bulged under his skin. He was a force to be reckoned with, and yet he had a softness to him that she found irresistible.

"Would you like some coffee?" He asked, getting up from the bed.

Anna nodded, feeling grateful for his hospitality. As the alpha disappeared into the kitchen, she took the opportunity to look around the room more closely. His apartment was sleek and modern, with clean lines and minimalist decor. She couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to live here with him.

When Edmond returned with two cups of steaming coffee, She took a sip and savoured the taste. It was smooth and strong, just like him.

"You know, I knew that from that moment I met you that you are a journalist," Edmond said sipping his coffee.

Anna was surprised, "Really? How did you know?"

Well, you have this inquisitive nature about you," Edmond said. "You ask a lot of questions and you seem to be genuinely interested in people's stories. It's a quality that I've come to associate with journalists."

Anna was extremely fascinated. No one had ever pegged her so accurately before. She couldn't help but feel a connection with Edmond.

"I want to be with you, to share my life with you, and to build something incredible together. I know we come from different worlds but I feel like we are meant to be together," Edmond said as he leaned closer to her.

"I want that too. I want to be your partner in everything," Anna replied while leaning in for a kiss.

They kissed deeply while caressing each other. Edmond wrapped his arms around her waist as he deepened the kiss. Anna felt a connection to Edmond that she had never felt before. She felt like she belonged with him, in his world of werewolves. She knew she wanted him more than anything.

They eventually broke off their kiss, but they stayed on the bed cuddling.

They talked about a lot of things, Anna learned that Edmond was what people referred to as the "alpha male". He was a natural leader, confident, and strong-willed. Anna was intrigued by him, but she couldn't help but wonder if they were too different to make a relationship work.

Despite her reservations, Anna found herself drawn to Edmond. He made her think, made her question her beliefs, and made her want to be a better person. It wasn't long before Anna realized that she was falling deeply in love with Edmond.

Edmond felt the same way. He was captivated by Anna's beauty and intelligence.

They laughed and talked for hours. But their moment was interrupted by the sound of Edmond's phone ringing. He pulled away from Anna, a look of concern on his face as he answered the call.

"What is going on?" Anna asked, her heart sinking with disappointment.

"It's the pack," Edmond said, his voice tense. "They need me, I have to go."

Anna felt a pang of fear as she watched Edmond grab his coat and head for the door. She knew the situation at hand and might be dangerous. She didn't know if she would ever see him again.

"Be careful," she said, her voice trembling.

Edmond turned to her, a look of determination on his face. "I will. And I'll be back as soon as I can."

With that, he was gone, leaving Anna alone in his apartment, her heart pounding with fear and uncertainty.

As the hours passed, Anna tried to distract herself from her worry by working on her article about the world of werewolves. She sifted through her notes and conducted research online, trying to uncover more information about the rival pack that had attacked Edmond.

But as she worked, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. She felt a deep sense of fear for Edmond's safety, and she didn't know how to quell it.
