CHAPTER SIX

Anna's anxiety continued to grow as the night wore on. She couldn't concentrate on her work anymore and found herself pacing back and forth in Edmond's living room, waiting for any news.

Finally, her phone rang, and she jumped to answer it.

"Anna, it's me," Edmond's voice came through the line, and she felt relief flood through her.

"Thank goodness. Are you okay?" she asked, her voice shaking.

"I'm fine. We managed to drive off the attackers, and everyone is safe. But we'll need to be vigilant, they might try to strike again," Edmond explained.

Anna let out a shaky breath, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. "I'm glad you're okay."

"I'll be back soon. I promise," Edmond reassured her before hanging up.

Anna spent the next few hours trying to distract herself, but her mind kept wandering back to Edmond and the danger he was facing. It was only when she heard a knock on the door that she jumped up, her heart in her throat.

Opening the door, she found Edmond standing there, looking tired but unharmed.

"Thank goodness you're back," Anna said, throwing her arms around him in a tight hug.

"I'm glad to be back," Edmond said, holding her close.

Anna pulled back, looking up at him with concern. "Are you sure you're okay?"

Edmond nodded, a small smile playing at his lips. "I'm fine. Thanks for worrying about me."

Anna smiled back, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. She realized then just how much she cared for Edmond and how much she had been afraid of losing him.

"I'm just glad you're back," she said, leaning in to kiss him.

As they embraced, Anna knew that she had found someone special in Edmond, and she was willing to do whatever it took to keep him safe.

Over the next few days, Anna and Edmond spent as much time together as possible. They talked about everything from their interests to their fears, and Anna felt herself falling even more deeply in love with him.

But in the back of her mind, she couldn't shake the memory of the danger Edmond had faced. She knew that his life was not only complicated but also dangerous.

As Anna researched more about the world of werewolves, she realized that the rivalry between packs was even more intense than she had initially thought. She learned about the battles that took place between them, the blood feuds that spanned generations, and the casualties that inevitably followed.

Despite all of this, Anna found herself more and more fascinated by the world of werewolves. She knew that there was still so much more to discover, so much more to learn about Edmond and the pack he belonged to.

As she delved deeper into her research, Anna couldn't help but wonder if there was a way for her to help Edmond and his pack, to protect them from their enemies.

One night, Anna and Edmond were sitting on the couch when Anna brought up a topic that had been on her mind for a while. She was genuinely concerned about Edmond and his pack, and wanted to know if there was anything she could do to help them.

"Edmond, I've been thinking... is there anything I can do to help your pack? I mean, I know I'm not a werewolf, but maybe there's something I can do to support you," Anna said, looking at him with genuine concern.

Edmond was taken aback by her offer. He knew Anna was a kind and caring person, but he never expected her to offer her help like this. He looked at her for a moment, trying to assess if she was serious about it or if it was just a passing thought.

"Anna, I appreciate your offer, but it's too dangerous. The less you know about our world, the safer you are," Edmond said, trying to discourage her gently.

Anna felt a twinge of disappointment, but she knew that Edmond was right. She had heard stories about the dangers that came with being a werewolf, and she didn't want to put herself in harm's way.

"I understand," she said, leaning into him for comfort.

As they sat there, Anna realized that even though she couldn't physically help Edmond and his pack, she could still support him emotionally. She knew how important his pack was to him, and she made a mental note to be there for him whenever he needed her.

For Edmond, Anna's support meant the world to him. He knew how dangerous his life was and how difficult it was for people outside of his pack to understand it. Having someone like Anna who cared about him and his pack meant everything to him.

So, even though Anna couldn't directly help Edmond and his pack, her presence and support were enough to make a difference in his life. And as they sat together on the couch, Edmond knew that he was lucky to have someone like Anna in his life.
