Chapter 12: Jack's Jazz...Wrong Reason; Right One

Jazz looked the screen when the phone ring for the umpteenth time. She has been avoiding her cousin like the plague not trusting her. She looked at her leg the cast letting her skin itch like crazy. She leaned back in her chair reaching for the book. The repeated messages followed like rapid shots. Annoyed she reached for the phone. It instantly rings in her hand.

“What do you want Eva?”

“Where are you?”

“It is not of your concerned. I would appreciate it if you stop calling me.”

“Don’t hang up,” Eva hastily said.

“I have nothing to say to you Eva,” she snapped.

“Grandmother died,” she screamed.

Jazz felt her heart stop beating for a moment. She needs to take a couple of serious breaths to calm herself. Her knuckles were white with the strength of her hold.

“I don’t believe you.”

“It’s true, Jazz.”

“When did she die?”

“A couple of days ago,” Eva said quickly.

“It took you a couple of days to let me know she was dead, Eva. How dare you.”
