I woke up to an empty space in my bed, the brilliant smell of sunshine still lingered where Mia had slept. After the best fucking sleep I had in years, I was reluctant to leave the comfort of my bed, but I knew the quicker I went the Heath’s pack, the quicker I could return.

I met Leo outside of the pack house while Zach got the car ready. “I’m trusting you to keep this place together while I’m gone. Don’t hesitate to utilise the warriors if necessary,” I started, giving him a pat on the shoulder. As my Gamma, there was nobody I trusted more to take care of the pack. Leo was much more level headed than Zach, and he was my strategist, he knew how to cope if a threat was imminent.

“Mind link with us only, no calls, Lucien is concerned that they might be tracking our comms.”

“Understood,” he responded in a gruff voice.
