HENRY'S POV

My uncle Ray hated that my father signed a peace treaty with the human werewolf hunters who we have been at war with since time immemorial.

As a kid, I liked Uncle Ray, he would let me fight with him, hunt with him. But my mom never liked him much, or rather she was very wary of his reckless lifestyle. I heard my mom and dad argue about Uncle Ray's position and power in the pack a few times. But my dad refused to make him any less than Beta, he was his older brother, if situations were reversed, he should be king.

My dad told me many times how hard Uncle Ray trained to become king. It was all he ever did with his life, but when that didn't happen and the throne was passed to him instead, Uncle Ray turned to alcohol and the lifestyle my mom so hated.

Even with the subtle tension here and there, I had no reason to see that he could be capable of hurting me or my family. But evil takes root in ones heart deeper than anybody can imagine. I was ten, I could barely understand politics, but I knew things were changing.

Werewolf hunters were a constant problem since before I was born and dad had been working on stopping them for a two years. It was damaging the pack, continuing the war was useless. People were loosing loved ones, families were broken, thus the peace treaty was signed much to the dismay of Uncle Ray.

Somehow, he managed to instigate them to attack once again to take the throne. Gathered an army of people who believed in his methods and he killed my parents during the attack. I remember that night like it was yesterday. Watching as my father surrendered himself to Ray so he could spare my mother who was pregnant at the time.

But he didn't. He slit both their throats and reveled in it. Cedric saved me just in time and took me far to some of his human friends.

I was left with the humans for 6 years, moving from house to house all over the world. I enrolled in the army at 14. It was easy to forge my Identity as I was taller and looked older for my age, wolf genes. I received no news from home till on the night I turned 16.

I was lying in the small single bed in my tiny room in Vienna when I saw a reflection of red striking eyes from my window. Cedric. I knew my time was up with the humans. The Council of elders had managed to banish Ray from the pack after 6 gruesome years because the throne, refused to let Ray be king, but he took his followers with him, More than 100 people to form his own pack - Black Lotus. Even if he wasn't king, he had become Alpha by killing my dad.

Black Lotus attacked within a few days of me being king but with Red fire now split in half, we needed allies, I was a child becoming king, there was no way I could protect the pack on my own, so I created an alliance with other packs that had also been victims of Ray's attacks while I was away.

My intel in the Military supplied us with ammunitions and raw materials and every year, men from the alliance volunteered to be front line warriors, trained personally by me with my years of experience in the army.

Eli's raps of knocks came to my ears, but I had I picked up his scent since he turned into the hallway.

"Come in."

The door swings open a second later, his head snaps to the mess I made.

"Is every thing okay?." He asks and I grunt a 'yes'.

A file lands on my table as well as pictures of the rouge that just attacked, I notice Eli's busted knuckles, I know the guy is dead.

"He was just a rouge, no relation to Ray and his troops, he was banished from his pack around six years ago and had been on the run since, he raped a twelve year old." Eli summarizes. I pick up the file and flip through the pages quickly, everything is exactly as he said. I throw the book down and groan, not really interested in the story of a rapist.

He takes that as the invitation to sit down.

"Cedric is at my throat again, I would have ended him ages ago but I know he means well." I tell him without a filter, knowing fully well that the old man was on the other side of the door listening in.

"The Prophesy?." He asks. Eli and I grew up together, his father being my father's second Beta, we were best friends till I went to military school.

The 'Prophesy' is an age long legend that we were told as kids. About the impending doom of our kind and the mysterious wolf, who is rumored to be the gift to the world from the Moon goddess herself.

I personally think its Bull, but Cedric and his entire family worships the legend and never cease to remind me. This 'gift' is supposed to be a fated mate to the king and will help save our kind.

They think I'm that king, and that she's my mate. To save us from what I don't know. But if a need does arise that I, The King of Alphas, am incapable of saving my own people, we are indeed done for.

That's why I can't find her. According to him, she will only manifest when its her time, and the odds have been telling him its time, or so he has been saying since I turned 18.

He's a cryptic old man. But that king in the Prophesy wasn't my father, or his father or his father's father or any before and is certainly not me.

"He thinks she's in Blue Ivy." I mutter with a curse. 'The eldest daughter of the Beta to be precise.' Cedric voice booms in my head and I repeat it to Eli.

"I went to the Pedestal today." Eli starts and I throw my head back, Cedric's silent laugh fills my ears. Of course the sly old man spoke to Eli.

"Yeah?, I was there all night!." I bite at him even though he's not the root of my problems.

"Any luck Fire man?." He asks me with a smirk and I shake my head.

"Another reason why Cedric is being a prick, my mate will strengthen me so I can power the shield's engine again." I say in Cedric's voice and Eli laughs.

"He's not wrong." Eli murmurs after a his laugh recedes, I throw him a glare.

"And why do you think I'm such a pissy mood." I grit, I have a foul mouth, I can't help it.  "And why I agreed to going to Blue Ivy."

  • KING'S MATE   73. MATING FURY

HENRY'S POVThe nightmare came again. It always started the same way—me as a child, running barefoot through the woods, the shadows stretching long and hungry, the sound of my own breath too loud in my ears. I could hear him behind me, the headless man, his blade scraping against the bark of trees, a jagged whisper of death. My legs burned, my lungs screamed, but I dared not stop.I tripped. The forest melted away.I was home. Sitting in the living room of my childhood house, the scent of stew wafts from the kitchen. My mother laughed softly, speaking to a woman I couldn’t see. The voice was familiar. Warm. Comforting. For the first time in my life, I hear the voice clearlyAzalea. But before I could move, before I could even reach for her, the scene shifted again. This time, the nightmare did not follow its usual course. My father was no longer the one kneeling, begging for mercy. It was her. Bound, bruised, silver hair matted with blood. And standing above her, blade at her throat, wa

  • KING'S MATE   72. NO SAVIOR

AZALEA POV "Don't you dare fucking touch him!" I shouted, my face red with fury. Lexa starts shouting through the duct tape too."No more shit like that, alright?" He grabs my face with force as if trying to break my jawline.I can only glare at him as he breaks into another monstrous smile. The doctor comes once again, this time with a gnash on her face almost matching mine."The doc will check if your blood level is enough for another draw." He announces and leaves. She was quiet while checking my blood and vitals, as she usually is, but I couldn't help myself from asking about her face."I'm sure you didn't decide to match with your patient. Who did that, Kai?"At first she doesn't respond and turns to the guards. "She needs to eat something if she's to survive another draw."I slip a scalpel from her tray as she talks to him. If we were to have any chance of escaping this place, I need some kind of weapon."If you do not cooperate, it affects us all." She whispers shakily to me as

  • KING'S MATE   71. LAST DOCTOR

AZALEA'S POV"Azzy, what's going on?" Lexa asks in a serious tone after the evil doctor leaves. I was sure we were being watched, so I didn't want them to suspect a thing."Do you know where Justin is?" I ask instead, shaking my head."On our way here, I noticed a room just like the one I was in with two hefty men guarding it, so I guess."I nodded furiously. "Lexa, look at me, things are definitely not how they used to be, everything we thought we knew." Tears gathered in my eyes. Everything I thought I knew was unfolding right in front of my own eyes. It was scary. I just had to trust that I could keep myself and my siblings alive like Mum and Dad told me to if Henry also decides to betray me as a sacrificial lamb."I'm so sorry I failed to protect you, but I promise I will get us out of here alive.""I don't understand, Azzy. What are you talking about? What was Kai saying?" She asks, still sobbing"Kai is no longer who we think he is." She nods, seeming to have gathered that much b

  • KING'S MATE   70. WAR ACCESS

HENRY'S POV Shaking my head with amusement. "Still the same hotheaded bastard, I see." I smirked and clasped Gray’s forearm in an elongated weird handshake I didn't think I remembered that we made up when we were kids. "Still the same arrogant prick." I looked around quickly for Eli, its best I keep these two apart for a while. Gray chuckled before my eyes landed on the woman beside him. She had bright brown eyes and an air of quiet confidence. My brows lifted. "Your mate?" Gray in a manner I've never seem him before stammered, avoiding eye contact and the girl—Emma, I assumed—cleared her throat. I crossed my arms. "Oh, this is interesting." They have definitely fucked. I arch an eyebrow at Gray laughing. He sighed as she gagged at my eyebrow, pulling me aside. "It’s…..Uh complicated. But listen, Emma has rare abilities. She saved my life, Henry. And she might be able to help us." "Help how?" Gray’s expression darkened. "She gets visions. She sees things others can’t." Emma gi

  • KING'S MATE   69. CAUTIONED CHAOS

HENRY'S POVI sat at the edge of my desk, my fingers pressing into my temples as I stared at the glowing map and countless computer screens before me. My eyes burned from lack of sleep, but I couldn't stop. I wouldn't stop.Azalea was out there, suffering, and I was stuck here, unable to do anything.I used to take huge pride in my collection of super computers with accuracy of 0.00001 to trace even the tiniest signals. I personally designed the tech lab myself, I gathered only the best from all around the world, Eli and the rest of the tech team are the very best among werewolves.Yet when it truly matters, the best computers and the best tech team can't seem to trace one person. Right now, as I stared and listened for the continuous chime and beeping from over 50 computers in every corner of the 1500 square feet lab I wanted to smash everything into tiny balls and set it all on fire.My frustration boiled over, and I slammed my fist against the table, the sound echoing through the ro

  • KING'S MATE   68. MONSTER GOD

AZALEA'S POVMy breath hitched, my heart hammering violently against my ribs as I tried to process the impossible. Kai. My brother. And yet, he stood there, grinning like a madman, his red eyes gleaming under the dim lights. The once familiar warmth in his gaze had been replaced by something dark, twisted, malevolent."K-Kai?" My voice was hoarse, cracking under the weight of my disbelief. "How are you.....alive?." I puased to ask. Till now, I had thought he was in the fight that night of the attack. I remember dad saying something about calling him. I didn't know if he died or survived, but Ryder had assured me that no one alive was left behind in the pack. His sinister smirk only widened as he stepped closer. "Oh, sister, don't look so surprised, I was never truly gone," he taunts, stepping closer. "Did you really think you were the only one who survived?"."Something was deeply wrong. My instincts screamed at me to get away, to fight, to do anything but remain vulnerable before him
