Chapter Nineteen

I had the entire castle and surrounding areas searching for Charlie, but there was no luck. It was as if she had just disappeared into thin air. As the sun began to rise, I continued to search the grounds for my mate, seeing if I could catch any scent that seemed unfamiliar. Steel was going berserk, whining and howling giving me a constant headache without Charlie.

“She’ll come back,” I continued to repeat in my head to him, but I wasn't sure who I was trying to convince anymore. 

After what felt like hours, I decided to head back to the castle. When I walked in the door no one would look at me, which made me angry. I've already lost my mate, and now they are treating me like this?

“What’s going on?” I asked, spotting my mother talking to someone by the front door. “Mother?”

“Mother?” I asked again angerly, as she turned her head before moving to the side to revea
