Chapter Eighteen

“Knock knock,” the man said, tapping on the door as if we had a choice to let him enter.
I groaned as he slammed the door open, letting the bright light into the cell. It increased the pain in my head, making me wince. The only redeeming factor about him, was that so far he was the least vile person in this place, and for some reason his presence seemed to bring me some sense of calmness.
“Can you let us go? Leo will be looking for us you know!’ I said, trying to convince even myself at this point. We've been here for what felt like forever, with no end in sight and my mother and I were starting to lose hope.

The sun shown through the tall trees, making small rainbows across the sky. That kiss lingered longer then the meadows, almost deeper. At the end of the small trail beside the waterfall there came a clearing that looked like someone had made a picnic.Leo sat down and patted the seat next to me.
