Her hips immediately caught my attention, drawing my gaze down before I could stop myself. I had no idea she possessed such breathtaking, curvy hips; from a distance, she always appeared a bit slim, with a tiny, delicate waist that looked like it would fit perfectly between my two hands. My eyes slowly traced upward to her smooth, exposed neck, and a sudden, fierce urge to press my lips against her skin flared deep in my gut. The white towel wrapped tightly around her chest pushed her breasts upward in a way that made it impossible to look away. They weren't overly large, nor were they too small; they were the absolute definition of perfection—exactly the way I liked it.

It felt as if perfection had taken a human form and walked straight into my private sanctuary. If the gods ever came down and allowed me to choose just one single prize from this entire world, I would have chosen her without a moment of hesitation. Yet, the irony wasn't lost on me. The universe had handed me the most beautiful, tempting apple in the orchard, but it had also placed a curse on me that ensured I could never eat it.

The moment she bolted out of the room in a panic, closing the door behind her, I drew in a long, shaky breath to steady my racing pulse. I turned back to the mirror, grabbed a clean towel, and began drying off my skin, rubbing the cotton roughly against my arms and chest to shake off the lingering warmth of her presence. Once I finished cleaning my body, I wrapped a dark towel securely around my waist and walked over to the bathroom door. I turned the handle and pushed it open slowly, making absolutely no sound as I stepped into the bedroom—and found her standing by the shelf, completely absorbed in my personal laptop.

A quiet smirk touched the corner of my lips as I watched her fingers navigate the keys. *So, curiosity really does kill the cat,* I thought, crossing my arms as I leaned casually against the wooden doorframe. I stood completely still, watching her closely from the shadows while she remained totally oblivious to my presence. After a couple of minutes of just observing her quiet focus, I decided I had spent enough time standing around. I purposely stepped back, opening the heavy bathroom door a fraction wider and closing it with a sharp, deliberate click to see exactly how she would react.

She jumped violently into the air, her eyes widening in pure terror as the laptop slipped from her grip. Her feet tangled in her long towel, and she stumbled backward, her balance completely gone as she began falling toward the hard floor. Moving on pure instinct, I covered the distance between us in a fraction of a second, rushing forward to catch her mid-air before she could crash into the ground.

The second my hands securely gripped her waist, she gasped and scrambled to pull herself out of my hold, her face flushing a deep, fiery red. She quickly tightened the knot of her towel, pulling it closer to her chest with trembling fingers. "I... I..." she stammered, her voice cracking as she frantically looked around the floor. She rushed down, scooping up the fallen laptop from the rug and using her palm to desperately wipe off the invisible dust. She kept her eyes glued to the screen, refusing to meet my gaze. "Oh, sorry! I was just coming over to check if you were finally done with your shower, and then my foot slipped on the rug!"

A low chuckle rumbled in my chest as I stepped closer, looking down at her terrible lying skills. "Oh, is that so? That's very nice," I murmured, leaning over to gently take the device out of her hands. I tilted the screen toward her face, a mocking smile playing on my lips. "Wow... you really seem to like my personal pictures, don't you? And from the looks of it, it seems you were right in the middle of editing this specific one."

She instantly began scratching the back of her head, her cheeks burning even hotter as she looked everywhere but at me. "No, I swear I wasn't doing anything like that," she protested weakly, her voice dropping into a guilty whisper.

Before she could invent another excuse, I cut her off with a sharp nod. "Why don't you just come and finish editing it for me then?" I suggested, gesturing toward the desk chair. "I have actually been looking for a skilled editor to manage these files for weeks, but I haven't been able to find anyone trustworthy."

Realizing she had trapped herself in her own lie and had absolutely no way out, she swallowed hard and gave a stiff nod. She walked over to the desk, sat down in the wooden chair, and pulled the laptop closer to her. Her fingers began flying across the keyboard as she opened the image files. "To make an unedited picture like this look professional and clearer," she explained, her voice steadying as she focused on the task, "you can't just adjust the basic brightness. You have to fine-tune the contrast to balance the dark areas, modify the highlights so the details aren't washed out, and adjust the color saturation and white balance to make the skin tones look completely natural."

I leaned over her shoulder, pretending to study the screen, but my focus completely shifted the moment she leaned forward. As she pressed the keys, the knot of her towel slipped a fraction of an inch, revealing a teasing glimpse of her cleavage and the soft curve of her breast. My breath caught in my throat, my eyes locking onto the exposed skin. Oh God, I was absolutely certain that her skin would feel impossibly soft under my touch.

*Oh, snap back to reality, Michael,* a harsh voice screamed inside my head, forcing a cold wave of discipline through my veins. I clenching my fists tightly at my sides, tearing my eyes away from her body. *She is just a tool for the pack's survival—a sacrifice and nothing more. You cannot keep looking at her like this.*

I jerked my head back, turning my face toward the window as my expression hardened into a cold, indifferent mask. "Go take your bath immediately," I ordered, my voice sharp and completely empty of emotion as I walked away from the desk. "I've seen enough for today."

"How dare you, you absolute bastard!" I screamed, the words ripping violently from my throat. A blind, roaring wave of heat consumed my mind, erasing every single drop of caution I had left. I didn't care about rules, I didn't care about pack laws, and I certainly didn't care that she was a trained warrior. I rushed forward, my feet digging fiercely into the dirt as I lunged straight at her face. Every single cell in my body just wanted to fly at her, tear that disgusting, smug look right off her face, and stick my fingernails deep into her eyes. But before I could even cover half the distance, Ella’s arms suddenly wrapped tightly around my waist from behind. She threw her entire body weight backward, straining against my forward momentum as she forcefully dragged me away from the smiling bully. "Luna Fedora, please stop! Calm down!" Ella pleaded frantically, her voice trembling with panic as she struggled to hold me back. She leaned in close to my ear, her breathing shallow as her e

The sudden, violent impact sent a sharp jolt of pain radiating across my shoulders. I stumbled blindly forward, my feet tangling as the sheer force of the unexpected hit completely threw me off balance. My carefully styled hair whipped violently across my face, scattering in wild, messy strands over my eyes. Before my knees could buckle against the hard dirt, Ella’s hands shot out, gripping my arms with a tight, desperate strength. She pulled back hard, steadying my weight until I finally regained my footing. I didn't fall to the ground, but my heart was hammering wildly against my ribs. "Well, that was incredibly close," I breathed, my voice trembling slightly as I clung tightly to her shoulders for support. Once the dizziness cleared, I straightened my posture and began scanning the immediate area, my eyes moving sharply over the crowded field. Everywhere I looked, warriors and pack members seemed completely absorbed in their own worlds, laughing, stretching, or violently sparring

The warm, golden rays of the morning sun filtered brightly through the large glass windows, painting long streaks of light across the wooden floorboards. I slowly opened my eyelids, my head still throbbing with a slight dull ache from the heavy bourbon I had gulped down the night before. The gentle rustle of fabric and the quiet, hushed whispering of female voices had dragged me out of my deep sleep. I blinked a few times, adjusting my blurry vision, and saw two young pack maids moving quietly around the massive bedroom, dusting the shelves and tidying up the furniture with careful movements. I pushed myself up into a sitting position against the plush pillows, pulling the heavy blankets up to my chest. The sudden movement caught the attention of the nearest maid. She quickly froze in place, her eyes widening slightly as she lowered her head in a deep, respectful bow. "We are so incredibly sorry for waking you up from your rest, Luna," she murmured nervously, her fingers twisting the

The entire world seemed to freeze into absolute silence for a fraction of a second. The faint, sweet melody of the piano faded into the background as I slowly closed my eyes, completely giving in to the pull between us. My breathing grew shallow, and on pure instinct, I began tilting my head up, bringing my lips closer and closer to his waiting mouth. A frantic voice screamed inside my head, demanding to know why on earth I was doing this to myself, why I was letting my guard down for a man I barely knew. I didn't have a logical answer. I only knew that my body wanted his touch more than anything else in that moment, completely ignoring all my fears. Our lips were a mere millimeter apart, the heat between us completely suffocating, when Michael suddenly stiffened. A sharp look of realization flashed across his dark features, as if a cold bucket of water had just been thrown over his head. He pulled back slowly, jerking his chin away from my fingers as his expression hardened into an

A soft, helpless smile touched my lips, spreading across my face before I could even try to stop it. I didn't want to show him how much he was affecting me, but my body simply refused to listen to my brain. Moving like a woman under a spell, I slowly pushed my chair back, stood up from the lavish table, and placed my small hand directly into his large, open palm. The moment our skin met, a jolt of heat rushed up my arm. He pulled me close, his fingers tightening around mine as he suddenly guided me into a swift, graceful spin. A sharp, breathless gasp escaped my throat as the world blurred around me. I genuinely thought my feet were going to slip on the smooth floor and send me crashing down, but his powerful arm shot out instantly, catching me firmly by the waist. He leaned over, bending my body back slightly as he held me secure. My heart hammered against my ribs when he dipped me, his face hovering mere inches above mine, his warm breath fanning across my lips as if he were about t

I lowered my gaze to my plate, my fingers tightly gripping the silver fork as the painful memories rushed back. "When I went to the bathroom at the stadium, I ran straight into my sister," I murmured, the words feeling heavy on my tongue. I let out a bitter, breathless laugh that did nothing to hide the ache in my chest. "As it turns out, she completely hates my guts. She wants to exact her sweet revenge on me, even though she was the very same person who went behind my back and stole my boyfriend." Michael leaned back in his chair, a slow, dark smirk spreading across his handsome face as he absorbed my words. "Hmm," he rumbled, his deep voice vibrating with cold amusement. "What a truly lovely and supportive family you have." I rolled my eyes, a sarcastic smile touching my lips despite the tears prickling the corners of my eyes. "Yeah, I guess so," I replied, looking up to meet his intense gaze. "I really couldn't have asked for a better, more loving family than the one I got." As
