MIKE CARSON

“Every couple planning to get married runs several tests!”

I gave Regina's words a retort in frustration and all she could respond with was an annoying laughter..

“Did you just say every couple?.." she paused to laugh again.

“Well, not ours.. because that's so unnecessary” she smirked, lighting a cigar stick which one could regard as something she was obsessed with due to her regular intake of it..

“So unnecessary?.. you're insane” I let out more words in frustration.

She's had been a headache for the past five weeks and also the main reason why our wedding preparations were this slow.

“Nothing is necessary to you, who behaves that way, huh? We agreed just this morning to go to the hospital for the tests after I pick you up from the spa and now you're changing your words?.. What's the meaning of that". I made more lamentations while she puffed out smoke from her mouth and ears, making me feel a bit choked in the car.

I had to turn on the car's AC because the traffic jam kept adding to the heat.

“I, Regina Aria Bills, will not run any tests, okay?!”

“Because?.." I replied immediately, almost interrupting.

“Because we had sex a million times already!. If I had STDs, you would have contacted it already and the tests are useless, Okay?..” she smirked .

I folded my fists tight in anger.

“You're daring me you know?.. I left the office because of this and you know how much I don't joke with official works, especially now that dad is about to step down" I sounded cool but no one will hear those words without detecting my anger..

“So what will you do?, Huh?..” she replied stubbornly..

“Make me hit my head hard and go unconscious? Just like you did to your ex wife whose whereabouts you don't even know?!” she scoffed, stabbing me hard with those words..

I felt my heart ache for a second as Judith's image appeared in my head.

“Do you even know if she's alive?.. you even sacked your sixty-five year old butler who saved her!” she added and scoffed.

“Well I heard the man is a rich man who only wanted exercise after retirement. That's why he chose to work..and yeah, his son is the popular Keith Donalds so dummy, you stepped on toes!” she said again.

“Regina, stop it.." I was forced to caution her.

“Oh please" she rolled her eyes.

“You know what.." she hissed, packing her things into her bag.

“I'll meet you at home, I'm not comfortable here" she eyed me, opening the car's door without warning.

“Reg...”

“Go run the tests alone” she said in a mockery tone, closing the door hard.

I wanted to alight or stop her somehow, but the vehicles ahead of me began moving at that very point, and of course, I couldn't cause another traffic jam by refusing to move.

I hesitantly drove off, hitting my poor steering wheel a million times to express my anger and frustration and caring less of how bad it made my knuckles hurt.

“You just keep making me regret things over and over again!” I breathed heavily..

Sighs..

I arrived home a short while later, ignoring the greetings from the maids as I headed to my room for a cold shower. Otherwise I would destroy things..

“Your excellency sir.." the new male cleaner stopped me with his words on getting upstairs.

“Yeah, Hi.."

I didn't even know why I replied. Maybe because I was satisfied with the way he had offered to clean all the remaining rooms in the house which hadn't been touched since Judith went out of the picture..

“While cleaning one of the rooms, I saw this in there..” he handed me a brown envelope.

“Okay.." I replied simply, collecting it and sauntering into my room without even bothering to check its content..

Well, I did so upon getting in -- right after I took off my shirt.

The envelope was a bit dusty and it had on it exactly the date I chose to ditch Judith..

I opened it curiously and unfolded the paper to read..

My eyes widened exactly five seconds after I began reading..

“Pregnant?..” I gasped, standing up immediately.

“Judith was pregnant?!!” my gaze expanded more and at that instant mum's words rang in my ears..

“Your father is stepping down soon, you need a son as fast as possible else the Bills will take all he had laboured for. That was one of the agreements he made with them when they helped him out of bankruptcy"..

My heart ache returned as I remembered how I'd pushed her hard on that fateful day.

“Right she was holding this exact envelope!” My eyes kept widening.

It must have slipped into the other room through the space under the door when she fell!..

Without hesitation, I dropped the papers, rushing to the drawer to check for a particular record book where the information and contacts of everyone who had worked with me was..

I needed to call the former old butler to ask for her whereabouts!..

My heart raced faster as I kept searching and then, I stumbled upon it a short while later..

“Finally" I breathed in relief, grabbing it quickly and slipping it open afterwards.

However..

The front page was no longer in sight, – the exact place where the butler's number was. My eyes widened..

Like a flash, memories came in – of how I'd angrily tore it off when I sacked him for rushing to the five-week old scene to save Judith and ignoring my words..

“Nooo!..” I breathed heavily..

“Don't tell me...all hope is lost!” I muttered fearfully..

But then, Regina's words came in at that very instant..

“... father of the popular —-”

“Then I need to find his son!" I rushed back to the bed, picking my phone immediately.

I searched for my agent's number within a second and began dialing his number. I was more confident in getting a better result if I gave him the search task..

However, a haunting question crossed my mind at that instant..

“What if she lost the baby already?.. she fell so hard, remember?..”

And as if the phone heard that, it fell from my hands immediately..

Judith's POV Morning dawned within a blink of an eye and even before I could open my eyes, my phone rang loudly..“Who the hell is that after a pleasurable night?” I mumbled, rolling to Keith's side of the bed but there were really no signs of him anywhere.“Babe?.." JUDITH LARSSONI woke up with a blank head --- with no single memory of myself nor where I was coming from. All I noticed were a series of wires connected to my body and a faint smell of some clinical fluids, but the room wasn't looking like a hospital ward..“An home treatment" I found myself muttering for no reason as I kept trying to remember at least a thing about myself, but nothing changed.Wait..I didn't even know my name!..“What the --” I was interrupted by the sudden opening of the door and I totally went speechless when a tall man walked in with another lady who obviously was a doctor judging from the stethoscope around her neck.“You're awake!" The man exclaimed, walking over to me with so much excitement obvious in his expression.I gave him a ‘Do I even know you?’ expression with my brows scrunched up.Nothing about him was familiar, not even his face and at a point I feared that I'd been kidnapped from somewhere or maybe... sold?..I shook away the thoughts..It didn'

  • Kiss my feet, Devil!   Chapter 1

JUDITH LARSSONThe cool evening air wrapped around me as I stepped out of the taxi, my hands trembling slightly as I clutched the envelope against my chest. I could still hear the doctor's words ringing in my ears—“Congratulations, Mrs. Benson. You're two months pregnant.”Pregnant. The word felt like a melody, a soft whisper of hope I never thought I’d hear again. After what happened two years ago, after the pain of carrying a child only to lose them before they ever had a chance to live, I had been terrified to hope again. But this time was different. This time, I was ready to tell Mike, to watch his face light up with joy, to start a new chapter together. And today of all days—our third wedding anniversary—felt like fate giving us another chance. A small, excited smile tugged at my lips as I made my way up the porch steps, my heart fluttering with anticipation. I pushed open the door and stepped inside. But the sight before me made the warmth in my chest turn to ice. Mik
