No memories of the past

"Why the hell did you do that?" Iris yelled loudly, attracting the attention of everyone in the hall. Dominic faked a gasp in surprise when he heard her yell. There was a tiny smirk on his face as he watched her attract attention to herself. No one knew what was running through his head as he watched her lose composure. It was so unlike her and he was definitely enjoying it. Insane right? Well, that's what you can call Dominic. Behind his easygoing facade was a black-hearted man.

"I'm talking to you!" Iris yelled once again causing the other ladies aside Dominic to flinch.

Of course, did they expect any less explosive power from the Alpha's daughter? But only if they knew.

Meanwhile, Iris's father, Alpha Steve immediately gave a stiff smile to his associates as he watched Iris explode in anger. Her shout had attracted everyone in the hall including the other Alphas and even the guards standing guard outside the door but they dared not come inside.

The Luna, Iris' mother, immediately went to calm her daughter by walking as fast as her leg carried her. The graceful air around her when the party started was nowhere in sight anymore.

"Cling, cling. Alright, alright, let's all focus our attention on me because I'll like to make a toast," A burly man with a full beard and mustache lightly hit his wine glass with the ring on his index finger before raising his glass up in the air.

Immediately, all eyes was zeroed on him but he seemed to be basking in the attention as his smile grew wider.

Loud and coordinated claps resounded in the now quite hall before it soon stopped, everyone awaiting the burly man, who also happened to be the alpha of a well known pack, to talk.

"Cough, cough, as we all know about what happened years back, we were able to take down our all time enemy. This is a toast to everyone who participated in the fight," He laughed loudly and it was soon followed by the sounds of eerie laughters.

It was odd, very odd, everyone aside the slaves- turned waiters seemed to understand what the aloha meant but not Iris. She had a big question mark on her face as she stared at her friends who were also partaking in the laughter. Only one question came to her head- 'What the hell was going on?'.

Unfortunately, no one including her mother who was formerly trying to stop her from creating a scene paid attention to her. Her eyebrows turned furrowed deeply, tight enough to squash a fly. She bit her lip in confusion, trying to discern any of those past events but nothing came to her head.

Only if she knew that someone who had been watching her right from start had misunderstood the meaning of her expression.

Sebastian, now-turned Miguel, hid in a corner as he watched her from afar. His fists tightly clenched and the air around him seemed to have gone stiffer.

Behind him, no one was aware of the black and sharp stems shooting out of nowhere, crawling at a dangerous speed towards them. The controller of these stems was unaware of his doing until a cold palm lightly touched his before flinching away.

Immediately, his expression eased as he continued to stare at Iris piercingly. He mistook her expression to be that of someone who did something evil and was trying so hard to mask it.

Surely, he knew what the Alpha of the other pack was on about. This was the main reason why he was here. To pay them back tenfold what they've done to him. It took all restraint in him not to fire up and destroy everything in this building but he couldn't let the years of hard work go down to waste all because of an impulsive anger.

No longer willing to watch, Miguel turned around and headed to the kitchen were most of the slaves-turned cook were preparing a feast. Staying in the hall and watching those animals interact would only further anger him and he wasn't willing to lose control.

He was going to see to it that his plan sailed through like he drew.

Meanwhile, Iris was lost, so lost that she was about having a migraine. Her head was on the verge of exploding as she tightly clenched her fair fists.

'Why couldn't she remember anything that happened while she was young?'

The photos and videos she had seen of her young self and her friends were merely like a past. She couldn't remember any of it which was really puzzling.

"Why?" She asked softly, holding her head between her palms.

Precious, one of her friends, caught onto this but rather than being bothered about her friend's condition, she had a slight smirk on her face as she watched from the corner of her eye all of Iris' expression. She seemed to be enjoying her pain as her smirk grew wider by the minute.

She was unaware that iris was beginning to raise her head to face her until she felt a sharp pain on her bare lap, making her screech loudly.

"Why the f*ck did you pinch me?" Her words attracted attention from all sides making her smile sheepishly. Though, one could see that she wasn't a least bit bothered by the weird glances thrown at her. They were a mere illusion to her.

Others didn't think too much of her behavior because they knew a friend of the Alpha's daughter would surely be arrogant but only if they knew better than they did now, their jaws would be hanging loosely.

Iris stared at her father intently and the only thing ringing in her head was to ask her father some questions.

Unknown to her, under the table where her and her friends gathered, a manly hand slowly crossed under the table to touch a fair leg. At first, the owner of the leg jolted in shock but after some time, relaxed.

Iris was confused but soon, she threw caution out the window.
