Hybrid

The Alpha, Luna, and their daughter had just walked into the hall when they caught sight of this scene. Before the Alpha and Luna were able to speak up, a low growl was heard and the next words they heard from their daughter's mouth was earth-shattering "MATE".

"Wh...what did you say?" The Luna immediately turned to her daughter in the speed of light. With the way she reflexively turned, it was expected of her bone twisting in the process but nothing of such happened.

Once again, their daughter growled but this time with a more realistic voice of a human.

"MATE".

Alpha Steve, alpha of the pack, laughed awkwardly and also turned to look at his daughter.

"Who are you referring to?", Alpha Steve asked while putting on a fake smile. Of course, someone of his standard would expect his son-in-law to be someone of a high hierarchy but the problem was that among the men in the hall, none of them was of high hierarchy. Then, a bulb suddenly lit in his head and he began thinking if his daughter's mate was a lady but the bulb suddenly went off when he realized that among the female in the hall, none was of high hierarchy apart from his wife and his daughter. Well, he was very much aware that his daughter couldn't be a mate to herself as such was unheard of. Just as he was about firing questions to her, she awkwardly coughed and quietly mumbled, making sure it was audible enough for her parents to hear- 'wait'.

"Huh? Who are you asking to wait?", the Luna asked as she turned to her red looking daughter. Seeing he daughter's flushed face, she worriedly touched her forehead thinking she was sick.

Unknown to her, her daughter was flushed because she was lying.

"Oh.... About that, I thought I saw some dirt on the floor and that's why I said 'wait' so you'd avoid stepping on it", she lied smoothly while giving her mother a fake smile.

"What's wrong Iris, you look sick?" Alpha Steve asked worriedly as he stared at his daughter.

Iris shook her head immediately, she was aware that if this matter was prolonged, she'd never be able to come out again until she was as white as snow.

"Oh, come on Dad, I'm not sick. It must be the poor air conditioning in this hall", Iris lied smoothly, unaware that her words had just put not only her mate but the other slaves in trouble.

As soon as she said this, a loud growl was heard and most of the slaves immediately fell to their knees while the others shook uncontrollably.

The one who growled was none other than her father, Alpha Steve.

"You! Get your stupid ass right here!", Alpha Steve yelled as he pointed to the head guard shaking not far away from the slaves.

As fast as his legs could carry him, the head guard ran forward and fell on his knees.

"Why is the hall stuffy? I understand you are punishing the slaves but am I also involved?", Alpha Steve asked angrily.

The head guard could do nothing but shake his head in denial. To say he was scared would be an understatement. He was aware that if he said any wrong word, his head may be cut off from his body.

"Are you mute?", Alpha Steve yelled again seeing that the head guard wasn't planning on answering him.

"No Alpha, I'm really sorry Alpha. I'd make sure I punish them", the head guard said as he bowed continuously.

Alpha Steve wasn't satisfied with this and everyone including the guards were very well aware of this. If there was anything they could use to describe the Alpha, it was the word 'son of the devil'.

Though, none of them dared to say this to his face. The person that once said this to his face was unable to complete his sentence cause he was gone for good.

Iris saw her father's expression and suddenly had a bad feeling.

From the corner of her eyes, she caught the head guard who was kneeling before her father, winking his eyes at the other guards who was controlling the slaves. Before she could comprehend what was going on, loud cries and wails were heard in the hall. Her eyes almost popped out of its socket when she saw a guard whipping her mate who happened to be the fragile looking young man. She instinctively wanted to run to him but she stopped when she heard a voice in her head. The voice belonged to her wolf, Gretta.

'If you run to him now, do you think his suffering would end or increase?'. Iris was stumped by this question. She thought of the consequences of her running to him now. Firstly, her father who was as ruthless as ever wouldn't allow him to see the light of the next day. Secondly, she couldn't imagine the looks she'd be given by the pack members, most especially her friends of high hierarchy.

She watched in pain as her mate was whipped fiercely, then, she locked eyes with those ocean blue orbs of his that appeared like it was sucking her soul in.

What bothered her the most was that those ocean blue orbs held no emotion in them. Thinking her eyes might be playing tricks on her, Iris rubbed her eyes and looked at him again but this time, his head had been turned down.

Her wolf whimpered in pain and Iris felt she was about to go crazy. The same wolf that stopped her from running to her mate was also the one whimpering in pain. If she was able to watch her mate being whipped then why was she not able to bear with the eyes that held no emotion in them- Iris mumbled, sounding grumpy.

She jumped in fright when her wolf immediately answered back.

'Do you think I enjoy seeing him suffering?', Gretta asked in iris's head. Iris was smart enough to remain quiet cause she detected that Gretta was very angry.

In a dimly lit room....

"Boss, what's going on?" , Jude asked courteously.

"Hmm, I'm just imagining what fate has in store for me, it's going to be a long journey and I hope the ride is fun. I'm out for their blood", Sebastian said sinisterly as he stared into space.

Goosebumps covered Jude's arms as he shivered in fight. The only words ringing in his ears, were 'scary, so scary'.

'Well what do you expect from a ruthless hybrid?', his wolf asked, making Jude speechless. Indeed, Sebastian was an hybrid.
