CHAPTER 13: The Twins
Kaia was in the middle of a meeting when Keanna took the light. Fortunately, she was there as an audience. Keanna almost went out of the room when she noticed people she doesn’t know sitting with her at the conference table. Then she saw Carrie, looking at her. It seemed like she noticed something changed in her.
The meeting ended after an hour and although she was not sure what the meeting was about, she knew it would be important for Kaia and hers in case Kaia goes dormant. She has been dormant for she doesn’t know how long and she still doesn’t know what triggers each of her alters to take the light. She wonders if Kyla has been out.
She received a message from Jaymee at around five. He was asking if he could pick her up from the office for their meeting with the lawyer about the house, which she agreed to since she doesn't have

Kaia had to take the light from Kyla when she started to feel nervous and was about to break down as it is her job to take care of them. She needed to make sure that their system is in good condition and that they are not harmed in any way. She doesn’t know what happened when she was pulled back or what has transpired. She found herself in a cubicle and someone was knocking at the door. She looked down at herself and she was still wearing the clothes she usually wears in the office. She saw the scratches she has on her arms and good thing she always brings a cardigan in her bag. Another knock came at the door. “Miss, are you okay in there? Would you like us to call someone for you?” Offers the person outside of the cubicle. She made sure she looked okay before she opened the door.

Keanna saw Kira and Kyla at the shore after work. They seemed to be having a serious conversation. She could almost imagine how Kyla felt right now as she had been “asleep” for long enough to be updated about what is happening with them.
