They went inside the restaurant and were assisted by a booth. They were asked for their orders and Taylor chose their specials for tonight. They are going to have a long drive and she’s sure he does not want to get hungry while on the road.
They went back to the inn where they were staying and just took their things, settled their bill and were about to go in Taylor’s truck when she saw the couple again. They were heading out of the neighboring inn and it looks like they are going to take a night walk. The night seems young and the breeze is cool, it is indeed a good time to walk around the quiet neighborhood.
“T, do they look familiar to you?” she asked as she got in the truck and tuck herself with the seatbelt.
“Who?”
She nodded at the couple who were walking towards the truck.
He took a while to respond but then he smiled.
“They were also at the berry farm where we saw that little kid,” He answered with a smile, clearly remembering how the little kid announced that they were on a honeymoon.
She laughed lightly at the idea.
“So this is the end of us being honeymooners, huh?’ He jokingly winked at her
“Well, we could do this again next time, Mr. Drumfeeld.” She smiled at him.
“I’ll keep that in mind, Mrs. Drumfeeld.” He agreed before stepping on the gas.
Although she really wanted to keep Taylor company while on the road, she couldn’t help but fall asleep.
Taylor on the other hand, just kept his focus on the road and sometimes looked at the girl beside her. He still couldn’t understand what had happened that changed her mind. There is something that he would like to know but he wanted to make sure she is safe.
First was seeing her in the club alone and wildly enjoying the song that night. It was the first time he saw her dance that way and it seemed to him that she was having a really bad day, the way she finished her glass shot. She looked different that night, as if she was a different person, but he did not take it negatively, after all they have not seen each other for almost five years now and there definitely must have been a lot of changes.
That night, when he saw how she swallowed the glass of alcohol, he knew she needed someone to be with her. He didn’t see anyone with her that night and he wanted to make sure she’s fine. He saw how different she was from the friend he knew. She did not seem to care about other people that night, she just wanted to have fun, she kept swaying to the tune of the music the DJ was blasting on the speaker and would only go back for a drink.
He was content just watching her until some guy started approaching her and he took it as a queue. He walked toward her and held her shoulders, she was startled at what he did. She looked at her and was about to slap him when he called her name. Then he let her sit on the stool, asking her how things are with her and that he missed her but she seemed out of place. She was just staring at him but as if she was not seeing him. She must have been really surprised and he gave her a moment but she did not say anything.
“Kei, are you okay?” He tapped her shoulder as if to wake her up and that’s when she looked at him.
“T?” She said and looked around her surroundings, the look on her face was of utter surprise and he couldn’t understand why.
“You okay?” Still holding her shoulders as she tried to stand up though she swayed a bit due to being drunk.
“Huh, uh, yes, yes I’m sorry.” The way she reacted upon seeing him and the fact that she seemed surprised to see where she was made him really concerned about her but she looked better when she came back from the ladies’ room.
She seemed okay when he dropped her off, she knew her way around the house but what surprised him was the shoes of a man at the door. He didn’t know she was married, and she was not wearing a ring. He didn’t even think that she must be in a relationship when he saw her, maybe that was the reason she was different that night. They must have had a big fight and being Kei, she wanted to forget about it a little then sleep it off but she couldn’t so she decided to have fun alone. He bet she would have called Jane or Ara if there was a chance, maybe even him. He felt disappointed somehow but knew there was nothing he could do about it.
He left and did not expect to hear a call from her the next morning. When he heard about her muffled cry on the phone, he knew he needed to get to her as soon as possible. She was a strong person and he never heard her say awful things about her life. She was content and took everything as a challenge and she was a good girl. Thinking that someone has done something wrong to her made his blood boil, he went to her without thinking twice and let her stay with him.
There were times that she seemed out of it but he didn’t think negatively of it since she must be thinking about the problem she had run away from. She would sometimes zone out and there was even a time that she looked as if she didn't know him.
“Kei,” he tapped her shoulder and woke her up. He was glad that she fell asleep, she was able to take a good rest before facing whatever it is at home. She rubbed her eyes and stretched out a little, it made him smile at her. “Aww, I am really sorry, T. You should have shouted at me when I fell asleep.” She said, smiling at me and started to take her seatbelt off. He just shook his head and kissed her forehead. “Get your ass inside your house and I will be heading home, I need to have some good rest before tomorrow’s work.” He reached for the handle of the door and pushed her shoulders,”Go ahead babe, I might ask you to lend me a couch if you don’t get out now.” he teased her although he is not going to do that as he knew the situation.
Kei stood still at her door and waited until she couldn't see Taylor’s car anymore. She went straight to the stairs, their unit is on the second floor and she is okay with using the stairs instead of the lift. She unlocked her door and was expecting the light to turn on but it didn’t. She worriedly searched for her phone in the bag and used its flashlight. She went to the living room and tried the lights as well but there seemed to be no power. She looked outside the window to see that other buildings are well lit while theirs isn’t. She went to the kitchen and opened the fridge to get some water but was also surprised that it seemed to be turned off though the water was still cool. She took a sip of the water still thinking why their electricity was cut off when she saw the note on the fridge. It was their electric bill an
She woke up with a headache, she couldn’t remember how she fell asleep last night. She checked her phone right away and saw the time and remembered the task she has at hand. She needed to settle the electric bill before their electricity got cut off. Then she remembered it was Monday and she also had to go to Kaia’s office and report. She checked the time and prepared for a quick shower. She chose pancakes for her breakfast and hot chocolate. She cleaned up the bedroom and made sure the bed was made, she took another look at the address book and the email to know who she needed to talk with when she reached the office. She chose a pair of black jeans, a sleeveless blouse and topped it with a blazer. Looking at the mirror, she nodded at herself as if giving
She was surprised when Keanna took the light that night, she didn't know what Kyla would be doing. She is the other alter of Keanna and she likes to party, she is always rebellious, she likes doing things that a decent woman wouldn’t do. She is not someone who would break the law per se but she is troublesome. They usually have a conflict whenever she takes the light. She came out because Keanna has been dormant for a long time and Kyla has been nothing but folly and troublesome. She just does things she wants to do without even thinking about the consequences. She knew this because half of the time that Keanna was dormant she was able to see Kyla and what she does, although there were times that she is blocked out and most often that not when those times occur, she would need to be out the next day so she could fix whatever it is that Kyla has done.
She was now in the second half of her yoga session when she heard the doorbell. She turned off the player on her phone and walked to the door while wiping the sweat on her body and neck. She is not expecting anyone and Jaymee could be here but he doesn’t need to use the doorbell. She was surprised to see the man Keanna spent the few days she was in the light with. She didn’t expect he would visit Keanna and she doesn’t know a lot about them. Though she was nervous, she opened the door for him and smiled.“You’re here,” she started when he entered the unit.“I haven’t heard from you and I need your help,”“Coffee?” she asked, not even sure if this frie
She saw a woman who looked like her again, walking around the house. She couldn’t tell if it was Kaia but she seemed anxious and worried. She took a look at the living room where the woman was and she could not distinguish the house. Then she heard a car stop, the woman in the living room almost jumped to her feet and ran to the bedroom. Someone approached the door, jigged with the keys and unlocked the door. She looked at him and tried to remember if she had seen him elsewhere. The man stared at the door of the bedroom where the woman ran and then went to the kitchen. He was carrying some bags which looked like groceries to her. He put them away, some in the fridge and others in the cupboard. She took another look at the house and it seemed old but big enough for one family. Then she heard the man called her.“Kean
The question made her remember the dream she just had and it gave her goosebumps. She slid her hands in her arms to at least make her feel better. Thinking about it and the question that Jaymee asked made her think if her other alter could have done it real before. She felt the acid in her mouth but she stopped herself from vomiting. She still doesn’t want Jaymee to know that she is not Kaia. She doesn’t know why but she wanted to know what is going on between him and Kaia if possible. She thinks there was something deeper between them and she wanted to make sure that what’s going on between them stays with them. She does not want to confuse herself with how her alters feel about something or someone. When she was able to feel a bit better she answered him.“I didn’t receive any messages about any damages done,&r
Kaia was in the middle of a meeting when Keanna took the light. Fortunately, she was there as an audience. Keanna almost went out of the room when she noticed people she doesn’t know sitting with her at the conference table. Then she saw Carrie, looking at her. It seemed like she noticed something changed in her. The meeting ended after an hour and although she was not sure what the meeting was about, she knew it would be important for Kaia and hers in case Kaia goes dormant. She has been dormant for she doesn’t know how long and she still doesn’t know what triggers each of her alters to take the light. She wonders if Kyla has been out. She received a message from Jaymee at around five. He was asking if he could pick her up from the office for their meeting with the lawyer about the house, which she agreed to since she doesn't have
