Lost in the Dance

After a long day at work, Kaia went home and went to bed as early as possible. She didn’t forget to do her yoga session though. She always feels tired nowadays, it feels like sleeping is not making her well. She looked at the clock before she went to sleep and smiled when she saw that it was only 9:00 o’clock. She was already calculating the time she would be able to take a rest. 

She stirred and woke up at around 11 o’clock, she smiled when she looked at her phone. It's Saturday night and she wanted to try and have some fun tonight. She was still angry at being in a house with another man and she hated the fact that it was due to some misunderstanding. The world is really making life bad for her. 

She chose a burgundy for her this time and did not wear any contacts. She tried to quietly close the door but Jaymee saw her as he just got out of the bathroom. 

“Are you leaving, at this time?” He asked, looking at the clock.

“Why do you care, you’re not my guardian.”

“Well, just making sure you’re okay.” 

“Will you please stop bugging me, we are housemates but we don’t have to mind each other’s business.”  She said before leaving the house. 

She took a cab to the nearest club in the city. She is still not used to city life and she doesn’t want them to get lost. She drank and enjoyed dancing with people around, there were some guys who had tried to get closer to them but she was able to stop them either with a fierce look, bitchy attitude or just openly slapping them. She likes dancing but not guys, she actually hates them. 

She must have danced for an hour straight. She was thirsty and her throat felt dry from shouting on the dance floor. She felt the need for some booze. She went to the bar and was about to order when someone approached her and to her surprise even hugged her. She was about to slap him when he called Keanna. She heard a loud ringing noise in her head then she blacked out. 

“My long lost best friend, Keanna!” 

Keanna looked at him, she couldn’t recognize who he was, she thought her friend called her. 

“Hey, are you okay?” Taylor asked, waking her up from her little daydream. 

She looked around her and she was sitting on the bar stool of a club. She actually doesn’t know why she was here. 

“Huh, uh, yes, yes I’m sorry.” She still cannot understand what she is doing there and when she saw her fingernails, she was again surprised to see that she’s got long nails. 

“So, how have you been after all those years?” He asked, smiling at her.

She remembered her old friend from junior high school and she cannot remember why he looks a bit more mature than she could remember. She looked around her, still dazed and stood up almost falling from the stool feeling dizzy. Taylor held her shoulder and made sure she was steady. Taylor is the older brother of their friend and has become her best friend as they grew closer together. They stayed there for a few minutes and they were able to catch up a little at least. 

“What’s the matter?” He was wondering why she looked as if she didn't know why she was here.

“Uh, uhm, I need to go home.” She said looking in her bag and searching for something that would give her some ideas. She doesn't even remember where she lives and based on her surroundings, it seems like she’s in for a lot of surprise. 

She went to the restroom first to think. While at the restroom, she heard a loud sound, as if someone was banging on one of the cubicles. She had to cover her ears when it started ringing painfully.  

When Kaia opened her eyes, she went out of the cubicle to check on herself in the mirror. What she saw in front of her was something she didn’t expect to see. Her black hair is now burgundy and she was wearing something she wouldn’t dare wear. She looked into her bag and good thing there was a scarf she could put around her shoulders. 

She was welcomed by loud music when she left the ladies’ room and she was welcomed by a pair of arms. 

“It was really nice seeing you here.” 

She couldn’t move, she felt like she needed some air. 

“So, Key, where should I drop you off?” 

Hearing how he called her, she looked closely at him and tried to rack her brain. She still doesn’t remember who he was but she recognized the name he used.
