Chapter 41: Critical Condition

The next day, Everly woke up bathed in the warm sunlight. "You're awake. I brought you breakfast, Miss." Mary was already sitting on the chair inside the tent.

"Thanks, Mary." Everly got up and went to the restroom to wash her face. After a couple of minutes, she's already sitting opposite Mary.

"Ask away. I'll answer them all." she started.

Mary poured her a cup of water first before asking, "What happened last night, Miss? Did you two sleep in the same bed?"

Everly coughed and got choked up. Mary immediately handed her water. She drank a mouthful and tapped her chest lightly. "What?"

"You told me to ask anything," she answered and pouted. Everly drank another cup before answering.

"Of all the questions, was it really the first one you asked? Aren't you curious at all about my relationship with Dr. Lee?"

Mary shook her head. "Nope, not at all. At first, I was shocked, but it's not that surprising. I already know that you have been in love with him, Miss."
