Dead?!

9:00pm ….

Somewhere in Los Angeles ….

“Madam!”

Gabriella slowly turned to look at her flatmate Jessica who was standing behind her, her hands folded across her chest.

Jessica was actually her friend from high school, they went to college together and lived together afterwards.

Jessica was actually the daughter of a rich man, but she didn’t see eye to eye on many issues with her father, he always wanted to control and use her for his business purposes and she wouldn’t accept that, so she moved out and came out to live with Gabriella, while still working as a normal staff in her father’s company.

She wanted to take over paying bills since she moved in with Gabriella who was sort of struggling, but Gabriella insisted that they pay for all their bills equally and she had no option but to respect her decisions, she didn’t try to throw money at everything, she respected their friendship and didn’t flaunt the fact that she was a rich kid, and they’ve lived peacefully together for the past two years.

“It’s your turn to get food for us, it’s nine already when do you plan to do that?!” Jessica queried, Gabriella slumped her shoulders as she slowly turned in her seat.

“Wait, is it that you don’t care about my mental health or you didn’t just hear me rant that I lost my job just after one week!” Gabriella replied as Jessica rounded the chair and came to seat in front of her crossing her legs.

“Look girl, you have to snap out of it! Atleast you got paid for the eight days you worked, assuming you didn’t then we can be sulking!” She replied and Gabriella rolled her eyes as she stood up from the chair she was seating on.

“You’re talking like it’s so easy to get a job,” Gabriella muttered as she picked up her bag and began to search in it for her wallet.

“Don’t worry you’re smart you’ll get one soon, and you shouldn’t be sulking because of a rotten rich kid,”

“For all I know you fought a good fight,”

“Yeah and it cost me my job!”

“Don’t worry Gab, you’ll get a better one I’m sure!”

“Yeah whatever not like you care anyway, you’re just after food for your belly!” Gabriella replied rolling her eyes, Jessica chuckled lightly as she raised her hands over her face and turned her neck slightly, like she was just caught in a bad act.

“Well in defense, no matter what happens in your life eat first, then your problem becomes lesser!” She replied turning back to face her.

Gabriella rolled her eyes shaking her head as she picked up her coat and put it on.

“Such a foodie,”

“At this point I can only pray you don’t sell me for food one day,”

“I love you, but please go get us food I’m really hungry,” Jessica replied as she stepped out of the house and slammed the door shut softly.

Meanwhile ….

A random Bar

“Man you should go home now,” Julius, Jayden cousin who happened to also be his bestfriend said to him as he dropped the glass of beer he was drinking.

“I don’t know man, I don’t know” he muttered as he picked up another shot of vodka from the table and chunged it down.

“You should be at home trying to settle things with you mum, not drinking away like drinking solves anything,”

“She threatened to disown you and you still left?!”

“Oh please, you and I know I’m all she got, she won’t do shit!” He snorted .

“You should actually understand where your mum is coming from, not to insult but you’ve actually being a nuisance, right?!” Julius said and Jayden snapped his head towards him immediately.

“Not to insult but you’re insulting!” Jayden slurred rolling his eyes.

“If I had known I shouldn’t have come to you, she’s your aunt too right so you keep supporting her!”

“You should be on my side Julius! You should be on my side!” He gritted as he stood up from his chair staggering, swaying left and right drunkenly, Julius exhaled deeply, totally tired of his cousin but obviously had no where to dump him.

“Do you want me to drive you home?!” He asked as he equally stood up.

“You don’t have my back now you want to drive me home?!” Jayden spat rolling his eyes.

“Go and drive your aunt home,” he replied as he picked up his keys and began to make his way out of the bar, in a zigzag unsteady motion.

“You’re drunk Jayden, I don’t think you can handle it!” Julius called out running after him.

“Go home Julius, when have I not been able to take care of myself!” He replied as he got into his car, slammed the door shut, turned in the engine and it roared to life.

He reversed a little bit too much and Julius jumped out of the way immediately, he stuck his head out with a small amused chuckle.

“Oops my bad, see you later couz!” He said and zoomed off.

“Ughhh, when did vodka become this strong!” Jayden muttered to himself as he drove along the road, one hand on those steering and his second hand on his face trying to clear it, thankfully he was the only one on the road.

He suddenly scoffed as he removed his hands from his face and dropped it on the steering.

“Me?! A nuisance!” He muttered to himself shaking his head slowly.

“Can you imagine! Instead of him to be on my side, he’s calling me a nuisance! How rude!” He muttered and slowly released a light chuckle turning to look out the window.

“My mother is also threatening to disown me?! Oh wow! When did it get here!” He growled as he slammed his legs on the accelerator and increased his speed.

“Oh my God I feel so sleepy,” he whispered to himself again as he raised his hands to try rub his eyes again to clear his drowsiness and drunkenness.

“Disown me because of a sex tape?! Who the hell does that!” He muttered, just as he dropped his hands from his eyes he almost got blinding by the shinning light from an incoming vehicle.

“Who is this animal putting on his headlights so bright by this time of the day!” He muttered to himself squinting his eyes trying to see far ahead, it was then he realized that it was a truck and was heading towards him on full speed.

“Holy shit!” He muttered as he began to slam his legs on the break, but it wasn’t so effective because he was already on maximum speed, last minute before the two vehicles collided at high speed, Jayden swerved immediately and his car voluntarily went down the hill by the side of the road.

His life flashed before him as he couldn’t control the breaks anymore, it sped down the sloppy bush and finally came to an halt after slamming itself aggressively against a tree.

Jaydens head slammed the window as all the glass components of the car shattered, bursting his head in the process, before the twinkling of an eye.

Jayden struggling to be awake, but before he could bat an eyelash or even try to get out of the car, the bonnet erupted in flames.
