You?!

Minutes later …

The subtle sound of the burning of dried twigs and leaves, echoed alongside the rhythmic sounds of crickets in the bush, the rhythm they produced were actually quite slow and solemn, like they were aware of the catastrophe that had just taken place there.

“Arghh!” Jayden muttered lightly as he supported his body with his elbow and gently pushed himself out of the car, he kept groaning, muttering words of prayers, which he never offered before, as he gently crawled out of the car.

Just as soon as he crawled a few feet away from the car, it went off just like a time bomb, the whole car erupting in flames.

A tiny tear dropped from Jayden’s eyes as he had a quick moment of reflection, seeing that he escaped death by an hair’s breadth shook him further.

He was totally weak, coupled with the alcohol and all of the batter and bruise he had on his body, he was completely sucked out of energy, he gently crawled to a safe distance, gently laid back on the floor and gave into unconsciousness.

Next day, Wednesday Morning 10:00am….

Bartered, bruised and looking very unkempt, Jayden stood in front of his mother Billion dollar Mansion, with a deep breathe he stepped forward and rang the door bell.

Shortly after, the door open and the gate keeper appeared.

“Who are you?!” The gate keeper questioned, Jayden’s brow furrowed in confusion as he stared at him, but at the same time too weak to argue with him or anything.

He ignored his questions as he tried to push him out of the way and go in, but the gate keeper pushed him off and maned the gate well.

“The nerves of these Penniless people!” The gate keeper muttered to himself audible enough for Hayden to hear also.

“I said who are you and you try to forcefully come in?!, even if you want to beg for money at least be polite,” Jayden scoffed as he concluded his statement, he slowly raised his hands to his forehead and rubbed it gently.

“Me?!” He muttered pointing at himself.

“Penniless?! Here to beg for money?!”

“My mother owns this house!” He informed and the gatekeeper bursted out in laughter.

“I should even be asking you who you are, the only gatekeeper I know here is Tom, where is he,” Jayden asked as he stepped forward stretching out his neck trying to look inside the house.

“You?!” The gatekeeper said as he stopped laughing pointing at Jayden.

“The son of my boss?! My own boss?! Have you even looked at yourself in the mirror!”

“My boss told me this morning when I resumed my job here, she has no child!” He concluded sternly.

“Look, I’m just gonna call my mum, I have no time for this!” Jayden muttered as he reached for his pocket and tried to take out his phone, he just had an accident in a drunken state and has been unconscious for hours without receiving proper medical care, it was beginning to take a toil on him and he felt like he was going to fall unconscious again.

“Shit!, I’m not with my phone!” He muttered looking up at the gatekeeper, who in turn just raised his nose at him staring at him with disdain.

“You know what?! I don’t have to prove anything to you! Let me in!” He growled as he moved towards the gate and began struggling to go in.

“Hey, hey! Why is there so much noise?!” Gina said as she stepped out of the house, Jayden exhaled deeply as he pushed the gatekeeper away with all the strength he had left and walked into the house and towards his mom, he pulled her into a tight hug.

“Mom, mom, I’m sorry!” He muttered, still squeezing her in his grip. Gina groaned clearly uncomfortable and irritated as she pushed Jayden off of her.

“Who is your mom?!” She muttered rolling her eyes at him.

“What?!” Jayden gasped.

“Luke! Who is this rascal you let into my compound!” She yelled looking up at the gatekeeper, who just stood at the gate confused on what to do next.

“Mom, mom, it’s me, I’m sorry, look I’ve learnt my lesson, I’m sorry for walking out on you yesterday, I know now how you feel, I promise I won’t bring you anymore troubles from now on” he rushed, trying to prevent her from walking out on him.

“Let go of me!” She growled as she pushed him off her and turned back to face the gateman.

“What lesson is he talking about huh?! Didn’t I tell you I have no child!” She growled.

“I’m sorry ma’am, I’m sorry!” The gatekeeper said bowing continuously.

“Now listen to me and listen good, I do not have any child here, anyone coming here to claim he’s my son is an imposter, just like this one!” She snorted turning to look at Jayden with disdain.

“Now get this guy out of here, see how smelly and dirty he looks how can he be my child!”

“The next time I see him here, you’ll loose your job!” She growled.

“And you!” she snapped turning to Jayden

“The next time I see you on my property I’ll sue you for trespassing!” She growled as she pushed him out of her sight and got into the car.

“Mom! Mom!” Jayden kept called as he ran to her car banging the door repeatedly, trying to get her attention, but she simply held her head up high, looked away from him and wound up the glasses as her driver drove out of the house.

“Okay, you done enough! It’s time to leave!” The gatekeeper said to him as angrily shoved him out of the compound and locked the gate securely.

Hours later ….

Jayden realized banging the gates of the mansion was futile, he decided to stop, he tried to get across to Julius, but Julius also claimed to want to have nothing to do with him.

His mother definitely wasn’t joking when she said she was going to cut him off from everything, but he didn’t expect that Julius would also be a part of that.

He wandered aimlessly, he had been wandering like this for the last one hour, he had no idea where he was right now but he knew for a fact that this wasn’t an area he was used to, it was a lot more crowded and the people there looked a little low class, but all that wasn’t important to him.

He couldn’t wrap his head around why his mother did what she did to him even after seeing him in such a terrible condition.

He kept on walking, wherever his legs could take him, soon his legs got weak and could no longer carry him, he tried to press on to find a place to stay Atleast but his legs had plans of their own, they made way and he fell to the ground by the side of the road with a loud grunt, thankfully the street he was on was quite empty.

..

Gabriella hummed the lyrics of her favourite song as she walked along the street, she just stepped out to stretch her legs and take in the scenery Atleast, she was getting very bored doing nothing all day, alone at home.

Her eyes was on the wobbly figure at quite a distance in front of her but she didn’t take a lot of thought into it, she just kept moving minding her business as usual.

All of a sudden the figure dropped down by the side of the road, she had no idea what she was doing at that moment or why she did that, but she felt her legs propel forward as she ran up to the person.

“Oh my God, are you okay?!” She asked breathlessly as she squatted in front of him, her eyes went temporarily shut as she tried to stable her breath.

“I saw you fall from over there, you look weak are you sure you’re okay?!” She rushed, questions after questions as she tried to examine him, like she could determine what was wrong.

Jayden slowly turned his head and looked up at her, her jaws dropped immediately and her eyes went wide open.

“What the hell!” She scoffed batting her lashes as she looked away from him.

“You?!” She yelled snatching her hands off him as she stood up immediately.
