Chapter 34

Brian stayed with Stacy longer than he had expected, even after she fell asleep. He took a seat close to her bed, eventually reaching out to hold her hand while staring at her with mixed emotions. As his eyes grew heavy, he fell asleep, still holding onto her hand.

Outside, Gina, feeling tired, grabbed the bag of clothes she had brought for Stacy and entered the room. Seeing Brian asleep with his head on Stacy’s bed, holding her hand, Gina smiled happily before quietly leaving. Once outside, she spotted Anna and signaled her to be quiet when she noticed she was about to speak.

Approaching Anna, she whispered, “Stacy and Brian are asleep.” Anna then took Gina's hand, leading her to sit on the bench chair. “Mom, I'm starting to feel hopeful about their relationship,” Gina said eagerly the moment they sat down.

“Why all of a sudden?” Anna asked, observing Gina's expression.

“Mom I’ve known Stacy almost my entire life, I can tell she feels something for Brian, it’s probably their contract
