"Contractual marriage, huh?" nakangising sambit ni David.

Bahagya akong napaatras. No, this isn't happening. Hindi nila... p'wedeng matuklasan ang totoo lalo na ngayong maayos na ang lahat.

"Bakit, Perlm? Ano ba 'yung contractual marriage?"

I couldn't respond since my gaze was locked on David, who didn't take his gaze away from me.

"Want to know what contractual marriage is, manang?" David asked, his gaze is still focused on me.

"David..." I warned him.

"Ang alam ko 'yung ikakasal kayo pero may kontrata. Tama ba ako?" Humalakhak si manang.

"Ah-uh, and why did they have a contract?" His lips curved even more. "Because they don't love each other. They marry for money or other reasons."

Mas lalo akong napaatras. Pakiramdan ko'y bibigay ang katawan ko sa sobrang takot na aking nararamdaman.

"What's more exciting is... sila Perlm at Deon ay kinasal ng may kontrata. Isn't that surprising, manang?" David added.

"Stop!" I cried.
