Chapter 2: Lunch Time

Walking side-by-side, Nyx and Revel squabbled endlessly over what to have for lunch. "It's so hot today and you want to have RAMEN???" Nyx said with an exasperated look. "There's no law that says we can't eat ramen when it's hot!" Revel shot back with an equally exasperated look. Stopping in front of their favourite ramen joint, Nyx threw her hands up in defeat and said "Oh FINE, I'll let you win today since I'm in a good mood. But I get to choose tomorrow!" as she ducked under the curtain at the entrance and walked in with Revel trailing behind her, a triumphant look on his face.

Looking intently at the menu options, Nyx settled on a classic bone broth ramen, while Revel chose his favourite spicy variant. After placing their order with the waitress, they settled in to wait for their lunch and began discussing the latest that was happening at work. "You're so lucky that the Dev is out for meetings today and didn't catch you coming in late again, or you'd totally be on the receiving end of his signature glare" Revel said to Nyx as he leaned back in his chair, "You really need to start waking up earlier and reaching work on time, you know." Revel nagged.

Nyx gave him a guilty smile, "Yeah I know... but the weather this morning was so good that it was impossible to leave the comfort of my bed!" she whined. Revel rolled his eyes at her comeback while laughing at her as she pouted at him in mock agitation. He could never get angry at her when she looked this cute, not like he'd ever tell her that. "Tell that to the Dev then, see how he takes it" he shot back at her. Nyx shuddered at the thought, "Thanks but no thanks, I still need to make a livelihood you know." she replied.
