Chapter 3: 'Dev'
"Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have listened to you and eaten ramen... Now I'm so full that I'm pretty sure I'll fall asleep during the meeting later!" Nyx moaned as she held her stomach while they walked back to the office. Revel laughed at her pitiful expression as he said, "Well no one told you to finish the entire bowl and even ask for extras!", patting her back as he continued, "I'll make you a strong coffee later to wake you up okay? You can't fall asleep in the meeting later, the Dev's going to be there. Unless you have a death wish..."
Once Nyx heard that the devilish CEO, whom they nicknamed 'Dev', was going to be part of the meeting, she immediately perked up in delight. "Ooh is he really going to be there? Okay then at least I have something to focus on later!" Nyx joyfully cheered. Revel felt a pang in his heart when he saw how happy she was. He always knew that Nyx had a crush on the CEO, but he still hoped that one day he would be able to win her heart. He rearranged his expression into a smirk as he tried to hide his emotions, as he laughed at Nyx "What are you so happy about? It's not like he's going to notice you're even there!"
Nyx turned to him and merely stuck out her tongue before skipping away towards the office, all past feelings of food coma completely forgotten. She was looking forward to the upcoming meeting where she could finally catch a glimpse of her devilishly handsome CEO once more.
- Meanwhile, in a luxurious black Bentley -
Dressed in a bespoke midnight black suit, the man seated in the backseat flipped through the thick contract in his hands while he said: "Alexis, what do I have on this afternoon?". "You have a meeting with the marketing team at 3pm, then dinner with Mr Robin this evening at Oxbury Hill." Alexis, his personal assistant, rattled off from the schedule in her hands. The man nodded in acknowledgement, before returning his attention to the contract in his hands. This contract was a multi-billion dollar partnership proposal with one of the top corporations in the world, the Novea Corporation. Together, they would be unbeatable.

"YOU BLOODY IMBECILE, CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING RIGHT?!?!?!" Jean hollered at Nyx in rage as Nyx cowered in her seat. Devin raised his eyebrows at Alexis's elated expression, then decided that he wasn't in the mood to entertain her that day, not after the long conversation (or nagging, as he would call it) that he had with his mother earlier in his office. "Sigh, fine. I'll go for the dinner alone, you go enjoy your date." Devin muttered as he stomped back to his office and shut the door. Alexis stuck out her tongue at his back, "You're just salty because I have a date and YOU DON'T" Alexis thought to herself as she hummed, packing her things and preparing to leave for the day.- Back in the marketing room... - Revel was also packing up his things, as quietly as he could so as to not disturb the rest. He had to head home and prepare for the dinner that evening with Alexis Cazal, the office's goddess. Even though he liked Nyx, he couldn't deny that Alexis was attractive. Not only was she curvy in all the right places, she held herself with a air of self-confidence and was ridiculously smart as well.
