The Punishment

"I'm sorry sister. I shouldn't have involved the kids with my own problems." She uttered with her head down.

Athanasia had to teach her sister a lesson and she believed that the werewolf king could make Elisia obey. She glanced at Thane who was still standing by the door. She sighed and then turned to her sister.

"Do you remember when we were still in Acheron? Father asked us to choose the weapon we really like. We both wanted to use the swordbreaker, the sword of the fallen. Even though I was the first one to get it, you insisted that you are the right one to have it. We fought over it and I defeated you. But like a child, you didn't stop whining and in the end, father and our siblings sided with you. You did it to Antaura, too and all of our other siblings. You are the youngest daughter of the former Demon King and you always get what you want."

Elisia started sobbing at Athanasia's words. It was all true. She was a selfish princess and would use her position as the youngest daughter of Asmodeus to get ahead of her siblings.

"But you see Elisia, everything around us already changed. We're not in Acheron anymore and you don't have mommy and daddy to side with you. I can kill you now if I want to or bring you to Levaerun so the elders could give you their judgement. But I won't do that, I will give you to the werewolf king instead and make you realize your own mistakes. This is the last act of kindness I could give as your elder sister." Athanasia continued in a cold tone.

Elisia tilted her head up and as tears kept flowing from her eyes, she still couldn't accept her sister's words.

"Y-You don't have the right to do this to me. I'm going to contact Zuriel! I'm sure he'll side with me!"

Zuriel was the current Demon King and one of their brothers.

Athanasia chuckled. "Have you forgotten what you did to Zuriel? Or do I need to remind you again? Oh! You could also try Azael, maybe he'll help you after what you did to him."

Thane was just listening to Athanasia. Based on her words, the Demon Princess Elisia had a very bad image to the point that none of her siblings would help her.

'This is getting exciting.' He thought inwardly.

'You're enjoying this. Just a reminder, she's a demon living and acting like a Terran. She's not—'

'Stop! I don't want to hear anything from you!' Thane shouted, interrupting his wolf.

"Sister! Please don't do this!"

Thane heard Elisia begging her sister. But it seemed Athanasia became different. She didn't have her wings anymore and her hair was blonde again, but her eyes were still on fire, red and glaring.

No one would blame her after Elisia threatened her by using her children. She was being patient and kind to her sister, but Elisia provoked the monster sleeping inside her.

"Leave. I don't want to see you for now. Seek help from someone else. For me, I'm done with you." Athanasia said before looking at Thane.

"Take her. Do whatever you want with her. If she's here, I might kill her."

Thane nodded in agreement. He saw something in Athanasia's eyes. Was that disappointment, sadness or fear? He wasn't sure, but Thane knew that she was doing it for Elisia's sake.

He walked towards Elisia and stood in front of her. She looked at him with disgust. Her eyes sparkled from the tears, but it was cold and like rimes from the trees, it could hurt you.

He smirked. He was bored being just the werewolf king who ruled the same clan for years. Looking at the stubborn demon princess who's desperate to get married to her boyfriend, Thane felt that his second chance to live again was more exciting than before.

Without a word, he grabbed Elisia by the wrist and dragged her out of the Cohen mansion.

"Let me go! Get your hands off me!"

Elisia yelled but Thane didn't let her go. He pushed her inside the car and asked the driver to take them to the airport. It was her driver but for some reason, he obeyed Thane and did what he asked.

She fought and tried to escape, but she couldn't. He was stronger, taller and more powerful than her.

Elisia felt scared for the first time in her life. She was a demon and the daughter of Asmodeus. She shouldn't be afraid of anyone, but when she saw Thane's expression, she felt something dark hidden inside him.

She wanted to shout and argue with Thane but nothing came out of her mouth. Her knees started to tremble and she suddenly felt the coldness surrounding the man sitting beside him. He was different.

"You'll be living with me not the other way around. I have duties to attend to so I can't be gone for long. I will give you a year to reflect and atone for what you did. Regain your powers so you could kill me. Then you are free to go."

"W-Why do you want to die so badly?" She finally uttered.

Her heart started pounding when Thane turned his face to her. It was the first time she was able to see his face.

She realized he was really good-looking. His black eyes, nose like the Greeks and pinkish lips were perfect like the Gods from Caelum. His black wavy shoulder-length hair was perfectly ponytailed in half.

"Never ask that question again. It doesn't concern you or anyone of your kind. Just do what you have to do."

She didn't talk back. She was honestly mesmerized by the man who was just a few inches away from her. She never had any interest in other men. Her world was her husband. For her, he was the most beautiful thing that happened to her life.

"Now, tell me about your powers. Where is your so-called husband now? Did he know that he died?" Thane asked.

His voice wasn't commanding but she felt like it was music to her ears, making her obey everything he say.
