“Ouch,” grunted Wallace.

“What?” asked Bella.

“That hurt.” He sucked on his thumb as the blood came forth from his skin.

Bella chuckled softly. “Well that’s good, I guess.”

Wallace looked at her in confusion. “What do you mean?”

“It means you’re feeling pain. Which is a good sign.”

“Of you becoming human again.”
