Standing Anais glances in the mirror, she checks herself. She looks perfect, or as perfect as she can look, considering she has little money, and nothing worthy to awe someone.
Walking out of the building, she goes into the club, Eva rushing over and hugging her.
“Finally, happy birthday!” Smiling, she hugs Anais as they walk through the club. Eva hands her a drink as they stand dancing slightly while talking.
“How is Ethan?” Anais looks at Eva.
“With his parents for the week. It gives us time away from each other, which we both need. How did your date go with that guy, Jacob, right?” Eva smiles, interested in finding out more.
“Nothing, we went out. Had food, spoke, he was boring. So, I went home. I’m in no rush to find someone. No matter how hot the guy might be.” She isn’t right now. Everything is fun. Nothing serious, and she won’t go chasing after anyone either.
“Not even for that guy? He can’t keep his eyes off you.” Anais looks in that direction. Her eyes stop on the man. Her teeth draw in her lip as she bites against it. Hell, he is hot, clearly older than her, but still hot.
“So, you wouldn’t get into something serious even for him?”
Anais watches as he walks towards her, hell she would. If she was guaranteed to be sleeping with this guy every night, heck yes, she would. She nods her head slightly, watching as he stops before them.
“I saw it was your birthday. Can I get you a drink?”
Anais feels her head nod in agreement, words fighting to find themselves inside her mind. “Sure, thanks.” Hell, she needs to speak up more. She watches as he walks off, Eva tugging on her arm.
“He is the type of guy who you agree to have a one-night stand with Anais despite knowing in the morning he will be gone.”
Anais listens to Eva’s words as she watches the guy order the drinks. She would, she knows she would, which is a foolish move, but she would sleep with him right now even if he said he wouldn’t stay.
“Okay, so you’re super quiet. I am going to the toilet or something. He is on his way back.” Eva hugs Anais before walking off.
Anais watches as he stops in front of her once again. His hand holding out the glass.
“Happy twenty-first birthday.” Smiling, he watches as she takes the glass from him.
Anais stares at him. Something is drawing her in, and it is a weird sensation. “Thanks, I’m Anais.” Smiling up at him, she takes a sip of her drink.
“Lucifer. I haven’t seen you around here often.” He hasn’t, and he comes here a lot.
“No, typically I don’t. Seen as it is my birthday, I agreed to.” Anais smiles at him.
“Dance with me, Anais.” Winking at her, he smiles, his hand taking hers as they walk to the dancefloor. His arms wrap around her body and hold her against him.
She is crazy. She has no idea who this guy is. Yet, he is hot, but something is drawing her in. Looking up at him, she smiles, watching as his head lowers. His lips press against hers. Quiet moans escape her mouth as she feels his hands grasp her ass and pull her to him more. The kiss is powerful and intoxicating. His mouth kissing along her neck.
Anais’s head falls back in pleasure, a feeling spreading through her body as she feels his lips against her neck. Her body shudders in excitement and need. Stepping back, he smiles at her.
“How about a date? We could go now, somewhere quiet?” Lucifer looks at her, she is fascinating, and he wants to know more about her. Know everything there is about to know. “A warning though, Anais, I am not someone who is good. I will taint your innocence.”
She likes the sound of that, why though? “Lead the way, let’s do this date.” She smiles at Lucifer, watching as his hand links her arm through his. Walking out, she smiles at him. Something is different, but what? She watches as he walks into the small restaurant. Sitting down, they order, and Anais talks about herself to him. Her eyes constantly focused on his.
“Tell me, Anais, what is your innocence worth to you?” Lucifer smiles at her.
“You assume I have innocence, Lucifer? How do you know?” Anais leans forward, smiling.
Lucifer laughs, his head shaking. Hell, he can find out most things. For one, he would smell sex on her instantly, and something tells him she is tame. Even he can tell she is a virgin. She shouldn’t be here with him. Why did he come here?
“People are easy to understand for me, Anais, which is how I know you have virtually lost no innocence in your life so far.” His finger strokes down her cheek. “Would you sell your soul to the devil Anais if it meant you got everything you wanted in life?” Lucifer looks at her, unsure of why he asked that.
“Who knows, Lucifer? Right now, I have enough to keep me happy. As for innocence, why does it matter if I have my innocence?” Surely that is a good thing?
“Oh, Anais.” Lucifer laughs. “You’re sat with the devil and have no idea. I won’t just taint your innocence, Anais. I will take it and find pleasure in ensuring you have none left. You should really run.” He should run himself, she is still alive. How has he not killed her yet?
“I like the risk.” Anais’s smile widens as they talk, yet the more they do, the more she hears a voice telling her to run. Whose voice is it? It isn’t hers, yet it is in her mind, and she can’t ignore it.
Looking at Lucifer, she considers if this is real. Maybe she is just paranoid and hearing things. Her mind making up things.
Lucifer watches her face. A mixture of emotions floods through her as he sits staring at her. Fascinated by the fact he hadn’t done what he usually would. He would have taken her out of that club, and she would have been dead quick. Yet he invited her out on a date?
The sound of ‘Video Games’ by Lana Del Rey spreads around them as it begins to play. Anais looks up at Lucifer, her heart quickening as she looks into his eyes. An icy feeling spreads through her body as she hears the voice screaming to run. Something about his eyes right now is telling her not to trust him.
“Anais.” Lucifer looks at her.
Standing, Anais runs out. Unsure of why, hell, she didn’t even say bye. She craved him like she had never craved any other man. Yet, that look in his eyes was like death, a death so hollow and dark. Even hell seems like heaven compared to it.
Anais picks up her mask, ready to become Melinda for the night. They never use their real names at these events. Looking around, she knows this is not where she is meant to be in life. The job isn’t bad, it just does not bring in enough money. She hates walking around seeing and serving all the people she knows her heart longs to be.Fastening the mask, she smiles, ready to take on the night. Like every other night, she knows there will be no hassle, no issues, and a slight chance one of the guests will ask to dance with a waiter. She didn’t understand why they asked, but they did. Of all the women at these events, men could pick anyone easily, yet they seem to go for the waiters.Looking in the mirror at her silky black thigh-high dress and her heels, she nods and walks out, the music playing. She smiles, looking around, wishing she was one of the women out here talking, laughing and enjoying the night, not working. She picks up her tray of food and walks around with it. Every now an
As she finishes her song, she watches her manager walk over, smiling slightly. His hands take the guitar and place it down as she looks at him, confused. The entertainment isn’t back, not that she can see anyway. “Melinda, this young gentleman would like to dance. Can you take time out for the next song, please? I have someone setting up music.” Anais simply nods, not sure how to answer; she usually is not asked. Jamie, her manager, always asked Scarlett or Rosemary, sure again they were their fake names, but still, she felt happy and scared at the same time. She stands looking at the man. He is well-built. It is clear just from looking at him, even in his suit, you can see that. His arm extends, his hand facing up. Anais gently places hers in his hand and walks to the dance floor, hoping the next song is not too slow or too fast. She is not the best dancer, which could be why she is never chosen. Getting to the dance floor, she stands, her awkwardness radiating from her as Bob Marl
Anais fights to answer him. “My innocence is already tainted, Sir, and I don’t believe you are a threat, Sir. Can I call you, Sir? I don’t know your name, and I would like to address you in some way.” Her body relaxes more as she dances, his hand slowly sliding further down her back, settling on her arse. She ignores him and continues dancing. “Let’s just stick to Sir, shall we?” He pulls her closer, her body against his and she can feel her heart fluttering away. She could have sworn at any minute it would fly out of her chest. “Mmm, you seem a little heated up, Kitten.” The words sent shivers down her spine, and she can’t deny it. Something about him makes her want him. Yet, at the same time, she can sense the danger of him. She ignores his question and keeps dancing, hoping her heart slows down and doesn’t give away her feelings. They continue dancing, the song finishing and Melinda turns to walk away, his hands stopping her once again. She looks at him, unsure if she can conti
They stand staring at each.“Well, that is a pleasant surprise, Anais. You have certainly lost your innocence since I last saw you. Now may I ask who caused you to?”She stands staring at the man, the man she ran away from, while Lana Del Rey - 'Video Games' was playing in the background, that was over six years ago. She had always wondered what would have become had she not run from him. Now is her chance to see.Standing, she looks at Lucifer. She can’t remember why she ran before. That first date was unique, then something inside her told her to run, told her he would destroy her, yet here she is, wanting him.He walks over and takes her phone, he puts his number in it. Waiting, he holds out his own, his eyes watching as she puts her number in before handing it back.“Well, I guess I will let you consider that for a short time. I will be in touch, Anais; I sure hope the Kitten doesn’t run from the devil this time.” He strokes her face walking out, leaving her standing there, unsure
He steps and looks at her.“Oh, you really do have a death wish, don’t you?” He moves closer, his body pinning her against the wall. He wouldn’t, would he? She looks at him, and right now, she is not so sure this was a good idea, but she won’t run now. This could just be a test.“You wouldn’t kill me, would you?” She found her strength. Standing defiant, ready to fight back, knowing full well she won’t be able to win this fight.“Oh, I could so easily kill you, Anais, so, so easily.” His fingers trail down her neck, his tongue licking across his lips. His face leans towards hers, his tongue gently gliding across her lips. Lucifer’s need for her is strong, he wants her right now, but at the same time, he doesn’t want to kill her. Why is that?“Yet, I know you won’t. You’re not as bad as you make out.” His head snaps up to her words, his lips curli
Waking up, Anais looks around, unsure of the room that is holding her captive. She has never been here, yet it is beautiful. High ceilings, and beautiful artwork on the walls, sitting up she looks around, everything flooding back to her.Lucifer tried to kill me. Did someone save me from him? Her thoughts are confusing her as she can’t remember anything after. The door opens, and Lucifer walks in. He doesn’t stop or stare at her. He walks straight towards her. Stopping at her feet, he hands her a coat.“Leave, and don’t look back, ever.” He was within seconds of killing her, and there would be no way he could save her. She knows how close to death she was, and she still doesn’t take his warning.“No, I don’t want to walk away, not until I see just what this can become. I don’t care that you nearly killed me. I don’t want to walk away like I did six years ago and constantly wonder what if.&rdquo
Then what? He knows what, then he has no choice but to kill her, no choice but to silence her and ensure no one else is told the tale of how she met Lucifer, the fallen angel. He never changed his name; he let it be a warning to women; she just doesn’t listen. The sound of the phone ringing, makes Anais glance at him. Lucifer answers it, his face quickly twisting into a grimace as Anais watches, finally realising how much of a colossal mistake she has made. She thought yesterday he was trying to scare her away; now she realises that yesterday was just a tiny fraction. As she looks at the face of pure evil.Anais’s body is trembling; her thoughts muddled as she looks at him, slowly her vision blurs as she realises what she has done, and now it is too late to turn back.Lucifer is looking at her, his arms wide as he holds the phone to his ear, his eyes red like fire, and she can only describe it as something out of a horror movie. His words come
She has no idea; clearly, she doesn’t. Does she really think that was her dying? She is insane. Shaking his head, he climbs onto the bed next to her.“You didn’t die, Anais; you were alive in my arms the whole time.” Her mind goes back, seeing everything again that happened. She was definitely in the sky. She was flying, yet now she remembers his arms around her.Waking up, she was facing his chest first. Maybe she was dreaming, hallucinating? Her mind tries working it out. She looks at him; vampires can fly? Her question is silent.“Vampires can fly?” Her words broken, Lucifer’s laugh full of humour.“What do you see, Anais? Look at me, what do you see? What do you believe real Vampires are like? Answer me.” His questions are coming out in a flurry too quick for her to answer the questions instantly.“I see you, Lucifer, I see something worse than the devil himself, yet I see som
