In order to break the rule of traditional marriage, I must offer myself to another man. For I would no longer dare allow my own self to be used for such practical marriage and commitment.

Not in this era, not in this life and not ever.

There's no backing up from here onwards.

Hesitantly, I stared on the dozens of metal doors. I sensed no sign of life through any of them as I continue to stroll until I reached a dead end. The Lycan's castle might be big and yet, it lacks the sign of any life especially in these isolated areas.

"Now, which room?" I contemplate upon choosing over them, for I don't have a single clue as to what room he might enter to find me in later on. But in the end, it never mattered for he might as well just know which bed chamber to enter with my presence in it.

The closest to my position was the last door near the dead end and so I entered, fortunately finding it empty as expected. Without further delay, I took every last fabric on my body before situating myself in the comfort of the sheets.

Strange enough, the place feels colder as though the wind itself keeps sticking on my back. Pretty peculiar for being a bed chamber, and to mention, the atmosphere remains still and cold. Though, the warm bed chased it all away.

The warmth was enough to slowly lull my drunken mind to sleep. I never noticed my eyes were that heavy only until I drowned in the comfort of these sheets.

Come to think of it, I've traveled half a day to reach the borders and another half to the Lycans domain. So far, this is my second night out of the borders and I don't want to waste any time.

For I know they're beginning the search.

I did not noticed how long I had my eyes close, since it felt as if that the very bed I'm lying on at the moment was occupied not long ago and that the warmth of the occupant still lingers. Weirdly, the air over me had turned out to be warmer as well.

"What do we have here?"

It felt as though my heart skipped a beat at the same moment my eyes snapped open to witness and recognize the heavy atmosphere hovering over me. "Who...?"

"Golden locks." He breathes in, twirling a lock of my hair in between his fingers. "Expensive."

The silence in between us was so deafening, my body remains tense. I tried to remain calm in hopes of identifying him as the Duke's son.

You can't blame me for not recognizing the guy, we only had a drink or two in the party before deciding to share a bed for the night.

Though I don't have any lead to him identify, he does smell different and funny in particular. Like an air freshener or something?

One thing's for sure though, he doesn't smell drunk unlike earlier where he reeks with liquor.

"You smelt wild."

Huh? "R- really?" He can't be recognizing the difference in my scent, can he?

Werewolves and Lycans tend to differ in terms of smell. While us wolves usually are closer to nature, we are naturally one with it and forever we have stayed closed to it. On the other hand, Lycans like him is closer to the smell of the sky- fresh of freedom, and of liberty.

"Like the smell of the forest after the rain." He continues nuzzling his nose on the crook of my neck, making me flinch. If he goes on- not to mention the already close distance- he might actually just rip my masked scent apart.

"I've been waiting for you."

"Were you, really?" The disbelief in his tone is present. "And there I thought I've been the only one waiting the whole goddamn night."

"Considering you being quite a catch, I'll say it is worth the wait."

Huh?

"You're the one who told me to wait here, didn't you?"

Now I've had my doubts if he really was the same person in party. His huge frame sure is different, his deep voice, fresh smell and most of all, dark eyes preying over me.

"Why, yes... Of course, I did." He seemed to be looking in my eyes, and yet straight through me.

My mind is too hazy to form any words after.

"I don't know when was the last time I had a divine lady." He gently switched our positions back with me under him. He feels hotter this time, though the room was colder not long ago. I'm already drenched in sweat and something wetter.

"That's right, I don't think I've ever had divine purity laid before me."

Does that mean he'll go easy on me? I mean, I have not earned his mark just yet.

As though reading my mind, he lets out a deranged smirk, confirming my thoughts of the psycho he is. "It only makes me want to break you perfectly."
