Unexpected arrival

Vanessa's POV

I felt warmth throughout my body. A sudden energy boost spiked my veins. I took in a fresh breath and the brightness made me open my eyes.

Everywhere seemed to blur at first but my eyes started getting clear. “Where am I?” I murmured. The last memory I had was the prison.

“You are awake!” A thick voice rang through my ears. It was like the physicians. Could it be that I was in the pack's hospital?

Just as I turned my head… It was the physician. Bright eyes and a little old skin. He came closer, placing his hand on my face. “How are you feeling now?”

I realized I was in the pack’s hospital. “Better.” My fragile voice cut across the atmosphere. He smiled.

“What happened to me?” I had to ask.

“You collapsed and were rushed here by the soldier's.” He responded.

“Oh.. okay.” I remained quiet, flashed back to what happened to me in the prison.

“You've got to be careful, though. You've a child growing inside of you.”

My eyes bulged in shock. “A child?” I echoed. He nodded positively.

“How is that even possible?” I remembered the night of passion I had with Alpha Ray.

That night, he was drunk and when he got home, he wanted my body. I gave it to him willingly.

Gosh! I placed my hand on my head. Not that I wasn't happy that I have a baby growing in my womb but I was in a deep mess and now isn't even the time. My heart raced slowly…

“Take proper care of yourself because the baby is more than 8 months old now.” The physician finished speaking but his words actually fell on deaf ears. How do I confront Alpha Ray to break this news? He hates me now?

Not quite long… the door of Pack's medical room burst open. Right there was Lena. She was dressed in a white gown. Her heels clicked on the ground like royalty and she pushed the physician aside.

‘What is she doing here? Cause more damage?’ Just as I thought… She stopped right beside my bed and looked down on me with a disgusting glare.

“How dare you trouble the pack?” Her voice was mean.

“She still needs some rest.” The physician spoke warmly. And she shot a deadly glare at him.

“This lady here is a criminal? We can't keep wasting meds on someone like her.” She turned her face towards me. “Discharge her right away. The Alpha is in the judgment room.”

Hearing that, my heart hit hard against my chest. “Judgment room?” I almost collapsed on the bed.

‘The punishment for murder is death? I can't allow him to kill my child for a crime I didn't commit? How do I prove my innocence?’

The physician rushed to my side, unhooked the drip. Lena clapped and a few soldiers rushed inside. I managed to step down from the bed and followed them.

The brightness of the sun hit my face the moment I stepped out of the door. Pack members gossiped about it and even pointed fingers.

I felt angry. It reeked that none of them knew the truth and I was the one carrying the shame. I could hear them speak well of Lena stating she was the one that caught me.

Little did they know that the person they cheered for was actually the mastermind and I was the little pawn in her chest game.

I approached the place where I would be judged. It was located in the pack's main market,

Alpha Ray was seated on a golden judgement chair wearing a white robe. Beside him, dressed like royalty was Lena.

I stood a little distance across from them. Soldiers guarded the corners of the place.

Alpha Ray lifted his face. His eyes were red like a warning signal. I've not seen him that furious in his life.

He opened his mouth to speak…. “This lady here who happened to be my wife killed my father. I should pass my judgement right away but to be fair, I will allow you to speak. How can you defend yourself?”

My body trembled. My heart was filled with pain and tears sting my eyes as I was about to speak. This is the moment of truth and for my unborn child's sake, I will speak…

“I did not kill your father.” Immediately I said that Lena, who was seated beside him, intercepted.

“Lair…! How dare you stand in front of judgement and still lie to everyone's face.” She turned to Alpha Ray… “Why would you allow this shameless murderer to speak at all? You caught her redhanded and she still lies? Sentence her already!”

Alpha Ray placed his hand on her lap, caressed it a little. “You are right. What was I even thinking?” He turned to me fiercely.

“I knew you wouldn't speak the truth. I waste my time trying to listen to you.” Before he could finish, I went on my knees before him, knowing fully well he priorities Lena above me.

“Alpha, even if you won't believe me… consider the baby in my womb…”

Alpha Ray's eyes bulged with shock. Lena was taken aback… “what?!” They echoed at once.

“Yes, I am carrying your child. I plead with you to allow me to give birth to the baby before you murder me in cold blood.”

Alpha Ray growled. Lena smirked.. “Do not believe her deception. She is just using this so that you won't sentence her to death!”

Alpha Ray nodded in agreement. “Shut up, you bloody liar. I do not care if you have a child or not. You killed my father…”

Alpha Ray stood on his feet, stepped forward a few paces.

“I, Alpha Sabastian Ray, reject you as my Mate and Luna.” His voice rang out with hate.

I felt it and it hurts. My body trembled and my stomach turned. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pressure and water flow out of my vagina. I became weak and I fell back..

“My water just broke… I think I am in labor.”

Alpha Ray wanted to take me seriously when I said that. But Lena laughed out loud. “Do not tell me that you are falling for this measly trick. Punish her already!”

Alpha Ray stepped a bit forward even more. “Drop the act already! You won't escape punishment!” He held me by the arm, and pulled me up.

“For killing my father and trying to trick me… you are reduced to a mere slave in this pack.” Just after his declaration.

He left my hand and I fell to the ground, because I couldn't hold to stand on my feet. “AHH!” I let out a loud, final growl. Babies popped out of my vagina, hitting the ground.

Alpha Ray and Lena's eyes widened with disbelief.

“It can't be.” Ray growled.
