Chapter 21

I descended the stairs, and he must have noticed. Of course, we were mated now, we can both sense each other, and also.. feel each other. I pressed my lips together to stop another smile from slipping up.

He raised his head up, and at first I couldn't see the expression that flashed across his face but it was quickly replaced with a smile. He smiled.. Aiden freaking smiled at me! It's been long since he did that, not since we.. broke up.

About that.. would that matter now? Does he still care about that? Probably not, right? We were mates now, he had no choice.

'Hmm, so he was the useless omega I was cursing out.' I thought as I stared at the burnt pancakes but the fact that he cared enough to make this for me. I couldn't contain the joy inside me.

"You're so sweet" I muttered, pushing the pancakes inside my mouth. His brows raised, as he pulled the plate away from me, I raised my brows. "What? Why??" I asked at once.

"You shouldn't eat it, it tastes horrible" He muttered. god, he looked so cute pouting.

This seriously feels surreal.

And so, the omegas came to take over and they prepared breakfast for us, after we had breakfast, we took a stroll around the pack house, not saying anything to each other. Aiden had always enjoyed his peace and solemnity so I wasn't going to take that from him.

I had a lot to ask but they could wait. I smiled, slowly bringing my hands to his, I didn't know why I thought he wouldn't take it, but he did, tightening the grip on our hands. I stopped and looked up at him, he smiled.

I looked away shyly, brushing a strand of my hair back then gently tucking it behind my hair.

We took a detour back home afterwards and some minutes later the alpha and luna came and we settled for a talk.

They liked me! I couldn't believe it. To be sincere, I was thinking something could go wrong and people wouldn't like me, Aiden's mom and dad included, but they did. Though my friends had mind-linked me earlier today that the whole pack was going insane. An Omega was their future Luna, they couldn't believe it. But who cares, the alpha and luna liked me.

And I wasn't a weak omega, I was strong, pretty strong.

"So, for now. You're just Aiden's mate and the future Luna, that would come later, so don't let it get over your head, okay?" That was the Beta. I hissed inwardly. He didn't take a liking to me and I knew exactly just why.

He was hoping his daughter would be the Luna. Well guess what Beta Harry, she isn't and I would be the future Luna and you will learn to respect me. I didn't dare say that of course, I simply nodded, with a smile.

"Don't mind him, Ariana" that was Luna Marylin, she touched me softly. "We just need you to be nice and generous, we need the pack members to like you, okay? So don't act alk high and might for now, when my husband and I step down then you can relish in it, okay?" I nodded in response. Luna Marylin was kind, and beautiful. She was really nice too, I liked her.

Alpha Caden hadn't said much, he looked like he didn't like me but had no choice than to accept me. He must have expected much, and I understand him, but I could prove myself too, and I will, to him and every member of the pack and they would have no choice than to accept me as their Luna.

"So, have you two bonded yet?" Alpha Caden asked, the question directed at Aiden. "Yes" Aiden simply said, his expression remains indifferent.

Oh, so we did bond, can't believe I have no recollection of that. But it's fine.

I retired home the next day, Luna Marilyn insisted I stayed the night again, hinting at us to do more of the 'bonding' and I seriously was actually looking forward to it, but we didn't.

But instead he cuddled me to sleep, I really enjoyed staying in his warmth and I never wanted to leave. So one could imagine the displeasure on my face when I had to go home the next morning.

I got home and mom and dad threw a party for me, my friends included and some of my classmates from school. I dined and danced happily. Mom shed tears as she prayed to the moon goddess for me, praying I could be one of the greatest Luna this pack had ever had and I could lead this town in peace with Aiden by my side. Everyone chorused an 'Amen' to Mom's prayers. Except Arielle who remained muted all through, I couldn't care less.

I was her best friend's mate- one she was in love with, so yeah I could imagine her pain.

But all through this, my wolf, was silent and mute. Even when Aiden had claimed me, and kissed me..I couldn't feel her excitement, in fact I hadn't felt her in days now. What was going on?

"Dianne.." I called.

"Dianne?.." I called again but no response. What was happening? Was she mad at me? I brushed it up, she was probably sulking, something must have happened to her but I won't let her kill my joy, and so I partied on and on.

I was the Luna of ColdTown pack now and I would act like it. For years, I've been called weak, useless, am omega that amounted to nothing, but right now, I was everything they weren't, the Luna of ColdTown and they shall bow and obey me, they shall respect and apologize for every insult they had hurled at me.

I shall make them all pay, one by one. Starting with Laura, she was my enemy, she hated me and I hated her. She had everything I wanted but guess who now has the one thing she could never have.

I, Ariana Darkmore would become the future Luna of ColdTown pack, no matter what it took.
