Dark Dimension

*whip! Whip! Whip! Whip! Whip!* “Please Lord Umi, I beg I did it for our sake!” *Whip! Whip! Whip!* Simon cries out in pain as his Lord continues to beat him mercilessly for once acting on his own without informing him of his plans.

It is torture because he beats him till his skin bleeds then let’s him be healed then start all over again, it’s been this way for Two weeks and not once has Lord Umi said a single word to his Second in command, nor does he listen to reason when others try to talk him out of the punishment he bestows.

“If you keep this up my Lord, he will truly descend one day”

The Lord turns “good! Then let him descend! I HAVE NO USE FOR A SUBURDINATE WHO DOES NOT RESPECT HIS MASTER! IF HE DOES BIDDING ON HIS OWN THEN WHAT PURPOSE DO I SERVE HMM? WHERE IS THE ORDER?! ANSWER ME!”

“I dare not make assumptions my Lord but I do believe in his mind he believes he was helping you by doing so”

“HELPING ME?! YOU CALL EXPOSING OUR EXISTANCE AND CAUSING US TO LOSE COUNTLESS OTHERS FOR THE SAKE OF ONE LA JABLESSE TO BE HELPING ME?! OUR NUMBERS HAVE PLUMTTED THANKS TO HIS FOOLISH DESCISION!”

The Lord storms off after allowing the Widows to heal his flesh once more and slams the doors behind him “what will we do Cass? Soon we will run out of silk, it has been a fortnight since we have been doing this, if we run out we would have to journey far to get replenishments and now is not the time for us to be away”

“I am trying to talk to him but Simon has angered him so”

I head to my quarters and slam the door shut, my room is now riddled with broken walls and fist marks, I am so damn angry! And no matter how much I beat the fucker I do not feel any less angry!

How could he possibly think that doing something so reckless would help us? Risk exposing us and cost us so many, the years it took us to get to the kind of numbers we did only to see it all go down in flames because that, that aggghh asshole went and did things on his own! AGAIN!

I pace back and forth no, no, no I need to make an example out of him because if I don’t others will think they can do as they please and get away with it, I will not be made a laughingstock! Not by my own people, not by anyone! I will make examples of everyone involved, including the head of my armies divisions! I will punish them all for going along with these things that I did not sanction!

I shower and change before going to The Pit and standing on my podium “ALL OF DARK DIMENSION HEAR ME YOU ARE ALL TO ASSEMBLE IN THE PIT IMMEDIATELY!” I send out a broadcast so they all will come to me “BRING SIMON TO ME IN THE PIT!” I ask of the dungeon guards.

It doesn’t take very long for everyone to assemble, I know they are all curious, as to why I want them all assembled here as it's not a place I frequent, even though I am a dark lord I try not to subdue my creatures more than we have been subdued over the years, I try to be fair and just to them.

Soon Simon is brought in and placed in front of everyone, shackled and I can hear them whispering wondering what he could have possibly done to deserve to be treated like this.

"You all were asked to be here to see this person, whom I thought was my most trusted ally face the consequences of his actions for acting on his own on my behalf as he claims he was doing, and if you're wondering it's been going on for some time now that SImon seems to think he can take command of my ranks without my consent and do with them as he sees fit and I will also be punishing the captains of each rank that accepted his command without my knowledge!"

Murmurs are still going around the pit "Two weeks ago he sent our ranks out to invade the Royal City! it costed us countless numbers of fighters just to rescue one we lost hundreds! Every captain of every squad come forward!"

The timidly come through the crowd and drop to their knees "explain yourselves!"

"My lord, we accept your judgement, we all just thought that if the orders came from Simon it meant that you were okay with it and were aware so we simply followed orders"

"Have you ever heard of the phrase, trust but verify?! I am not so far away or out of reach that you can't send word or reach out to me to ensure you are being fed the correct information! what if Simon was planning some sort of rebellion against me?"

They place their heads on the ground "we have no words or excuses my Lord"

My jaw ticks, I fully understand what they're saying, naturally they would trust Simons words are my own but still I am so damn angry! angry at them all!
