Chapter 3

My father has spent many years, suffering silently which caused me to suffer silently because he lost my mother and I truly can not imagine experiencing that or leaving my mate behind to grieve me in that sense for Goddess knows how long, it's been Twenty Three long years and he still carries an air of sorrow about him and I suppose now I'm older I do understand his possible resentment of me as I am the reason his mate is no longer living, I have wondered from time to time, what it would have been like if she had survived giving birth to me, would he have left Nika and stayed with us, have more pups with my mom or would we have been his dirty little secret, his second family and I would of have to watch my mom suffer in pain when he comes back to his pack here and mate with Nika while we stay at which ever pack she lived in before.

I come to a stop when I feel eyes on me, and I don't mean the kind of eyes an admirer would give but a malicious and eerie kind of stare.

I am still in town basically so it should be damn near impossible for anything other than wolves of our pack to be here and I certainly don't have any enemies to the point of giving me death glares from in the forest line, I open my mind link and was about to reach out to my w\team mates who are supposed to be on border duty to find out what's going on.

It shot out of the tree line and ran straight at me, I hurriedly opened the pack link and shouted ' ROUNCE! THERE'S A ROUNCE IN THE TOWN! GET TO SAFETY AND QUICKLY! ' I hopped out of the way and managed to get behind it, I have no forms of weapons on me, so I have to rely on my stealth and speed, I need to get t away from the town, someone could get hurt.

I pick up a boulder and wait for it to turn and face me, it takes off to a run and charges at me once more,  wait and at the right moment I throw the boulder and it collides with the Rounce, hitting it square in the head, it stumbles and staggers, then shakes it head as though trying to catch itself.

I wait and ensure it's focus would be on me before taking off into the forest, I can hear it's hooves trampling behind me as it squeals loudly trying to catch up to me, I duck to a tree and reach into the hallow trunk and grab a rope as well as Two daggers, I tend to hide supplies around along with my clothes for moments like these.

I wait for it to run past the tree then hop onto it's back and tie the rope around it's neck and pull hard, by then other warriors, even the Alpha in their wolf forms have joined in, they nip the Rounce at its feet causing it to fall with me still holding the rope around the neck.

He's the biggest I've ever seen and very strong, he also has an odd look and scent too. The Alpha shifts back and take a Silver sword and drive it straight into the head of the Rounce, it releases one mighty and final squeal before drawing it's last breath.

I hop off  and release the rope when I feel a strange movement under me, we watch in horror as the Rounce's skin seems to pucker then melt, turning black and seeping into the soil " SHIT SHIT SHIT! I NEED MY BAG! " " What is it Red?! " " it's a curse! " I Grab my bag and quickly rummage through it looking for one of my many concoctions, I throw a bottle to the Alpha, and one to a warrior, " we must make a barrier around the gunk quickly! " the Alpha doesn't hesitate and begins throwing the powder mixture around the Rounce carcass and so do I then the warrior.

It begins to sizzle and a scream is heard from the Earth, a puff of Black smoke rises up from the earth and fades away into the air.

There is nothing left but bones, it melted away right down to the bones, never in my life have I seen something like this before, and thank the Goddess I'm a diligent student.

I exhale and inspect the area around the remains to make sure we got all the gunk and once I'm satisfied I turn to leave, I'm so tired.

" Ahem " I wince and freeze in my steps, " yes Alpha " he looks at me and shakes his head " good work Roro and good looking out at the end there as well, we will have a conversation about this later, go home and get some rest sweetheart " I bow " thank you Alpha "

I am so dead! he's gonna want to know how I knew what the curse was and why I had the solution to the problem before there even was a problem, sigh, I'll worry about that later, homeward bound.
