Chapter Nine

That night I’m the last to return to the house. I’d done the stupid winner’s interview, which had consisted of spilling even more information about myself. They’d asked me things like how I thought of the idea to use my wolf to make the jump, who I was planning on picking in the next round since I’d won. Those kinds of questions were things I was expecting. I was not expecting them to ask me what my type was, where I saw myself in ten years, if there was anyone I looked up to. I guess the other’s might have seen an appeal to getting more screen time; more of a reason for the fans to love you and all that.

But I didn’t like it. I found myself hesitating every time Laura asked me a question and giving half truths whenever possible. I don't know, maybe I just didn't want a bunch of people I’d never even met before knowing everything about me.

When I finally sat down on the couch in the main living room around nine pm, I was exhausted. Both mentally and physically. I hadn’t even had a

  • Luna's Choice   Chapter Thirty-Three

The cameras start rolling again, filming the extremely awkward date between Victor and I. I kept my gaze down, trying my best to think of something, anything to say. Laura had said this wouldn’t make for good television, and she was right. No one wanted to watch two people sitting here making shitty pottery while not saying a word. That wasn’t entertaining for anyone.“So uhm…” I let out a small sigh of relief when Victor breaks the silence. “You and Chase, huh?” Not exactly what I wanted to talk about, but I guess it was better than nothing. “I wouldn’t go that far. We’ve only had the one date so far.” He raises an eyebrow at me, and I can’t help the small smile that breaks across my lips. He chuckles, shaking his head as he looks back down at the pottery video he’d started watching again. “Must have been a very good date.” The tension dissolves just a little between the two of us as we finally start talking like we weren't being held at gunpoint.I sigh, and glance at the cameras

  • Luna's Choice   Chapter Thirty-Two

This time, the car ride to the date was quiet. Laura was sitting up front in the passenger seat typing away on her phone. Unlike last time when Chase had been here, she was very much focused on what she was doing and wasn’t making any idle chit chat. She’d been very interested in small talk, then.Much to my surprise, August wasn’t a part of the crew helping with the date today. For some reason I had felt blindsided when I got into the car and I didn’t see him. It was like he was just supposed to be there. I wonder if he had lost interest. Despite knowing that was for the best, I felt a little… lonely without him in the car. Chase was going around making some pretty strong claims about our ‘relationship,’ not to mention he’d been there for the actual date. Any sane guy wouldn’t want anything to do with that. Especially when we’d only been on one date so far. It’s not like we had a strong foundation to get us through me going out with a bunch of other guys; it only made sense for him

  • Luna's Choice   Chapter Thirty-One-Angel's POV

“You should wear the white one. You always look so innocent and pretty in that color.” I glance at Chase, who was currently sitting in the corner of my bedroom at seven in the morning, ‘helping’ me pick out my outfit for today’s date with Victor. My alarm had gone off like normal, but a few minutes after it had, there had been a knock at my door. It was Chase, who had pushed his way in before I could protest and parked himself where he was now. He said he wanted to help me look my best for the cameras today. It was… weird. Very pushy, but I couldn’t figure out how I was supposed to get him out of my room. This was a social situation I had no idea how to navigate. Given his behavior, one would think he wouldn’t be excited about me going on a date with someone else. But he was acting more like a talent manager for me right now, rather than a guy interested in me. His emotions and intentions were all over the place, and it was giving me whiplash.“I was thinking about this one though.”

  • Luna's Choice   Chapter Thirty-August's POV

I had let myself relax too much. Who would have thought my biggest competition would be that pretty rich boy? I mean come on, him? Sure, he was tall and had that stereotypically good look going for him, but anyone with eyes could see him and Angel were not meant to be together. She was so kind and genuine. He looked at her like a pretty new tool he was trying to figure out how he could use best. With her sweet, warm smile and trusting gaze, there was no way she could hold her own against someone like him. If he said something like he liked her for real, I was worried she’d believe him. She looked like the type to take everyone for their word, because she herself would never lie about something like that. That thought just pissed me off even more, because it made me think about her facial expression if she found out why exactly it was Chase liked her so much.Watching them on their date had left a bad taste in my mouth. At first I’d felt like Angel and I were on the same page with th

Honestly, I was almost one hundred percent sure the second Chase and I were in the view of the other cast members, he would take a more backseat approach to this new apparent interest he had in me. However, despite having just spent the whole day together, and walking back to the house together, even when we walked inside he was still glued to my side. “Do you want me to make you a snack? I’m going to make a sandwich.” He asks once we’re inside. “I guess.” I say. I watched with bewilderment as he walked ahead into the kitchen. I could hear him being greeted by the other guys, asking how the date went. I was actually about to sneak away, let him get distracted with boasting about his charming skills, when he suddenly looked out the kitchen into the entry way where I was still standing with a shell shocked expression. “Are you coming?” He asks, raising a brow. “Oh, yeah.” I mutter, kicking my ass into gear. I was having a hard time wrapping my head around him wanting to spend even

“So, we saw some unexpected sparks between you and Chase today. What’s up with that?” Laura asks me later on as we’re once again sitting in the one on one interview room. “Uh. Well. I guess I’m his type…” I say kind of lamely. Honestly, I was still reeling from Chase’s confession myself. The guy hadn’t even looked at me since the show had begun, and now all of a sudden I was his number one target? It didn’t make any sense. Him and Emily had been all over each other. We were in different social classes, and while we had a good date, it had just been that. One date, one day together. There was no way he actually thought we were cut out for a relationship together. I can’t imagine bringing him home to meet my parents, or even worse, vice versa. His mother might weep if he brought me home to her, honestly. Laura gives me a sort of pinched laugh. It was clear she was equally confused about Chase’s sudden interest in me. She seemed tense, and maybe a little irritated that he had shown act
