The Upcoming Disaster

Luck is the line between survival and disaster which is razor-thin, and few people can maintain their balance on it. Some are lucky to survive and some are not, which leads them to be fed into disaster.

Just a week later after the alpha introduced Amanda to the pack as his soon to be second wife, their grand wedding took place.

"Congratulations Alpha!"

"Congratulations Amanda!"

"Wishing you a long and happy marriage."

"Wishing you the best today and always."

"May the Moon Goddess bless your marriage forever."

It was a good sunny day for everyone to celebrate the marriage of the alpha and his second wife, except for Luna. She was still devastated to see her husband being in love with another woman and not with her. She has no choice but to attend the ceremony since she was obliged to do so.

"May the years ahead be filled with lasting joy."

"May Moon Goddess bless the two of you abundantly in love, joy, and happiness.”

The pack was so busy congratulating Amanda and the Alpha. Luna could not help but to reminisce about the memories of her wedding with his husband. She was beyond happy and content for being married to the alpha. She imagined her life to be so joyous and that their marriage is a bliss. However, the life she had right now is the opposite of what she dreamed before. She was trapped in a loveless relationship instead. A marriage where his husband doesn't show her any affection and favor, even just a bit.

"Congratulations Luna for having a new sister. She will now be your companion as you are both the alpha's wives." The gamma arrogantly greeted Luna. He wants to see the uncomfortable reaction of Luna but he fails.

"Thank you Gamma. You do not have to congratulate me, I am not the one celebrating my marriage today. But, thank you. Oh, by the way, when will you get married? Oh, my bad, you are still looking for a woman who can tolerate your attitude." Luna confidently said. She knew that answering Gamma's mockery without a fuss would make him shut up his foul mouth.

"Luna, how are you? Are you alright?" The beta, Luna's father, asks her.

"I am fine, father. I have no control over the Alpha's decision. I would not like to be bold to stop him from having an heir for the pack." Luna replied. She may seem sound alright but it is visible to her eyes that she is hurt and not happy with the situation.

"Luna, you already know that an Alpha having multiple wives is not a big deal. It is usually expected by everyone since we all know that you are not able to carry a child in your womb. Just do not think too much about it, alright. As long as you are loyal to the pack, the pack will also be loyal to you." Her father comforted her. The beta might be strict all the time but he knew that today is the right time to sympathize to her daughter. Even Luna won't tell her about what is goin on, he can feel that there is something wrong, especially that he is already familiar with the alpha's temperament.

"Don't worry about me father. The first week might be the hardest but I know that I could easily adapt with my current situation. You raised me to be brave and I am confident that I could do it." Luna utters those words in order for her father to be assured that she is undoubtedly in a good situation.

"If you have something that you want to talk about, I have to let you know that you can talk to me." Her father reminded her then left in order to congratulate the alpha and his new wife, and also to talk with the members of the pack.

Minutes later, everyone attending the celebration sat down to eat. The newly-weds sat beside each other meanwhile Luna decided to sit between the alpha and her father.

"To the newly wedded couple!" Luna's father makes a toast. As the beta of the pack, he must be supportive and loyal to the alpha no matter what the situation is as long as it does not conflict with the interests of the pack.

"Thank you. Let's eat now before the food gets cold." The alpha happily replied.

"Phelan" Luna called her servant.

"Yes Luna." Phelan attentively replied to the call of her master.

"Can you bring the cup of tea that I have prepared for the alpha's new wife?" Luna requested.

"Yes Luna, I'll get it right now." Her servant immediately obeyed.

Luna prepared a cup of tea for Amanda. It is a tea good for the development of the fetus. She personally asks this from the pack's doctor.

"Here is the tea, Luna." Phelan handed the tea to her master.

"Alpha, as a congratulatory symbol and as my token of acceptance for your new wife, I give this cup of tea to Amanda. I ask this from the pack's doctor and brew it." Luna then asks her servant to give it to Amanda in order to show her generosity as Luna of the pack.

The alpha just looks at Luna then ignores her. He does not even just smile or nod at her as a sign of acknowledgement of her actions.

"Thank you for your kindness Luna. As a symbol of my respect to you as the official wife of the alpha, I will drink this cup of tea immediately." Amanda replied. Everyone saw it as genuine gratefulness towards Luna but unlike everyone, Luna saw all of her hypocrisy and fakeness.

"Alpha, I do not intend to ask you bluntly but do you have a plan to give Amanda a position?" The gamma asks the alpha.

"For the meantime, I still don't think of a proper position in the pack. Besides, Luna is here to manage the other affairs of the pack." The alpha quickly replied.

"Alpha, you know that I do not want any position. I also do not want to be stressed out so much. I just want to bear an heir for you." Amanda interrupted. She indeed talks like a sinless saint which convinces everyone that she is good.

"I know Amanda. We are thinking the same thing. For now, focus on taking care of yourself and the baby. I still want you to carry a lot of babies for me." The alpha casually flirts with Amanda in front of everyone which causes Luna's heart to ache.

"Alpha, I am not feeling well today. Please allow me to go back to my room and rest. Congratulations." Luna excuses herself. The alpha just waved his hand as a sign that he approves Luna's request.

"Thank you Alpha." Luna answered and left the venue of celebration together with her servant.

She was so hurt to see that the gentleness of her husband was only given to Amanda. She did not want to watch them flirt with each other any longer, so she decided to leave with an excuse of being sick.

"Phelan, do you want to come with me?" Luna asks her trusted servant as soon as they enter her room.

"Luna, what do you mean? Where are you going?" Phelan was confused with Luna's question because she thought that Luna already disposed of the idea of leaving. She does not know that Luna planned to escape during the ceremony while everyone is celebrating so that no one will notice her.

"I am going to leave this pack right now. If you want to come with me, then let's go. You do not have to pack up your things." Luna replied to her. She was not sure if Phelan would also agree on her plan.

"But Luna, what about your father?" Phelan asks.

"Father… Yeah right, I have to write something for my father. Just to let him know that I am okay. Okay, I'll be writing a letter to my father right now. It will not take so long." Luna replied and hurriedly looked for something to write on.

At first, Luna does not know what to say to her father in the letter but minutes later, she already wrote the entire letter for her father.

Father, I am leaving the pack for good. Please do not blame me for doing this. Don't worry, I'll be fine. I just want to resolve my personal conflict. The alpha already married another woman which makes her a suitable Luna to replace me. I do not hold any grudges to anyone of the pack, especially to the alpha. I am leaving because I want to develop myself more and recognize my strengths and weaknesses. I want everyone to see how far a Luna with the weakest omega could go. I will forever be loyal to the pack. May the Moon Goddess feel pity for me and bless me with everything that I ever wished for. Take good care of yourself.

Luna then placed the letter on the top of her nightstand.

"Quick, let's go before someone notices us." Luna grabbed Phelan's hand and was ready to leave. Luna's decision is final and no one could ever change it.

Before they could leave the door, some warriors of her husband broke in and tied up Luna.

"What is going on? Do not touch her. She is Luna of the pack. Who gave you the authority to do that to her?" Phelan bravely tried to defend her master.

"What are you doing? How dare you touch me!" Luna yelled in anger.

"We apologize for doing this to you Luna but we are just following the alpha's order." One of the warriors replied to her.

"Alpha's order? What are you talking about? What did I do for him to order you to tie me up?" Luna was still furious with the warriors. Meanwhile, she was puzzled about the alpha's command.

"Luna, you are tied up to be a prisoner." Someone of the group of warriors stated.

"Prisoner? You must be kidding because once I get out of this tie, I will punish you severely!" Luna threatened them.

"Luna, you are convicted as a prisoner for killing the second wife's child." The leader of the warriors, who just came in, declared.

"Killing Amanda's child?" Luna asks as she loses her strength and drops herself on the floor.

It feels so impossible for her. How could she even do that? She could not believe that she was being accused of harming an innocent child. A sin which she didn't and would never commit in spite of everything.
