The Accusation against Luna

One doesn't get married to be a behavior analyst for their spouse. Disapproval, punishment, and the threat of losing love are all used as weapons when a marriage license is mistaken for a hunting license. The only thing one gains is their own unhappiness.

"Luna, you are convicted as a prisoner for killing the second wife's child."

"Luna, you are convicted as a prisoner for killing the second wife's child."

The words from the leader of the warriors keep on repeating on Luna's head. She doesn't know if it is all a joke, or if she heard it right but she only knew that she did not do it. She would never hurt a child just for her vengeance.

"Killing Amanda's child? Where is your evidence, huh? I never did it! I swear in the name of the Moon Goddess, I never did such a heinous crime." Luna cried while defending herself.

"Whether the accusations against you are true or plainly just a baseless complaint, it is not for me to decide. The allegations are too heavy since it is a huge disloyalty to the leader of the pack. The Alpha and the second wife will be the one to judge this case. I was only ordered to capture you as a prisoner." The warrior replied with a clear intention that she will not spare the hopeless Luna.

"Do not touch me! I am not guilty in this case! I am not a criminal! I am still your Luna and you have no right to disrespect me like this!" She yelled at those who were trying to apprehend her.

"Luna, we understand your sentiments but we have no right to ignore the alpha's order and neglect our duties as the warrior and protector of the pack. Please do not make it hard for us." He explained himself to Luna. He was right, after all, they have no choice but to follow the leader's command.

"Alright, I know that you are just obeying what is told to you. I will follow you to the prison chamber but you do not have to tie me up. I still want to walk outside with pride. I will not lower my head despite the allegations. I am your Luna and I still am." She said with full confidence.

As soon as she said those words, the warriors untied the rope on her hands. Just like she said, she walks outside, from her house towards the prison chamber, with great pride that even a rumor could never tarnish.

"Have you heard the news? They said that Luna killed Amanda's son."

"Did she really dare to do that?"

"Is she not afraid to face the alpha?"

"She is so cruel to that. She even killed Amanda's son to maintain her position."

"I never thought that Luna could really do that. She seems so nice to everyone."

"That's a fake rumor. I won't believe that Luna could do that."

The people of the pack have different perspectives about Luna's case. Some of them believes that she is guilty but some of them also believe that she is innocent.

She arrives at the prison house and the warriors lock her up.

"You have to keep yourself calm, Chandra. This must be a misunderstanding. You did not do anything so you do not have to be scared." She calmly said to herself.

"I salute to your braveness Luna. Or are you? Are you really brave? Or you just caught that's why being brave is your only last resort?" The Alpha suddenly spoke from afar.

"Alpha…" Luna said followed by a bow as a symbol of respect towards his husband.

"You still have the guts to face me despite committing a crime against me, against the throne, and against the whole pack! You know very well that killing a descendant of the alpha is considered treason against the pack!" The Alpha was enraged with anger. He walks near Luna's chamber.

"Alpha, I didn't do it. You know that I will never hurt an innocent child. I do not have any reason to commit that crime. I am truly innocent, believe me alpha. I was framed. Framed by someone else." She pleaded not guilty with the crime.

"You claim that you are innocent? Everyone knew that no one could ever do it besides you, Luna. You are the only person who could dare to kill my child. You also argued that you do not have any reason to do it? Yes you do, Luna. You are afraid that as soon as the baby is born, Amanda will covet your position. You are scared to be replaced as Luna. You are too greedy for the power that I have given you!" He exclaimed.

"Adolfo…" The only word that Luna could utter.

"How dare you call me by my bare name? I am your alpha!" He retorted. Calling by the alpha's name is considered rude and disrespectful.

"Do you really think that I would do that to maintain my position? I never want that stupid position! I would never care if someone could have it." She said while the tears from her eyes started to stream down to her face.

"Do you also think that I will be persuaded by your tears? I know from the very start that you only married me for you to have the position of being a Luna. Do you know how I knew it? Because you accepted it without hesitation." The alpha told her his assumptions.

"Is that how shallow am I to you? Do you know why I accepted your marriage proposal instantly? Because I love you Adolfo. I have loved you ever since we were still children. I always admire how strong you are, and how good you are to everyone. I want to be your wife. I want to bear your child. I want you to love me. But did that happen? No! You never loved me. You never even tried. You know how funny it is to love someone who will never love me back." She scoffs as she realizes how crazy she is for him. She was so blindly in love with the alpha that she forgets to love herself.

"I am already gathering evidence against you. Since you do not want to admit it, I will not lower the punishment against you. But if you want to admit your sin, I could be generous to you and not kill you." He warned her.

"So, am I really going to die?" She asks the alpha with desperation in her voice. She knew that she could not escape this accusation.

"If you will confess, then I could be good enough to throw you outside the jurisdiction of my pack. I will give you a few hours to decide." The alpha replied.

"Can I at least talk to my father?" She requested.

"You do not have to demand that. I already called him. The beta will be here in a minute." The alpha answered and left the prison.

Indeed, minutes later, Luna's father arrived.

"Father, you're here." Luna yelled in joy as soon as she saw that her father entered the place. He looks so worried about his daughter's situation.

"Luna…" Her father greeted her with respect.

"Forego the formalities, father."

"Luna, what did you do? Is it true? Did you really kill the alpha's child? That is an act of treason, Luna. I never raise you to be a monster. I raised you to be better than this. How could you do that?" He started to lecture his daughter. As the beta of the pack, his reputation is also affected with the case that Luna is facing.

"Father, you have to believe me. I did not do that. Would you really think that I would kill an unborn child just because I am jealous?" She turns the question back to her father.

"But why did you decide to abandon the pack? I saw the letter that you have written for me. If you are not guilty, why did you choose to leave? It makes no sense Luna." His father was puzzled about how her previous actions and the allegations she is facing connect perfectly.

"That was just a coincidence, father. I decided to leave the pack because I was hurt. Because I do not want to see Adolfo being married to another woman. I just want him to love me. I want him to give me all of his affection and attention." Luna broke down in tears. There is so much suffering she had in only a small span of time.

"You killed the child of an unarmed Amanda. You did it to get even with her. Because of what you did, she also cannot bear another child for the alpha!" Her father seems not to believe her explanation.

"Father, did you just say that I truly am the suspect? You really don't believe me, do you? Huh, it is crazy how my own father won't trust me anymore. You know what, I could just confess that I did it even if I really didn't because I might obtain my freedom. But I won't do that, because I will not let this crime taint our family's name. I have to maintain our good reputation. Besides, I will not let the one behind this framing me to feel that they have won. I will never let them feel that satisfaction. I will protect my image as Luna and our family's dignity, even if it means that I have to die. I could sacrifice my own life as long as I maintained my innocence." Luna faced her father with courage. No one can change her decision.

"Luna, I am hesitant to believe your statements but that does not mean that I would not believe you. You are my daughter and I knew you well more than everyone else. If you said that you did not do it, then I believe you. I will do everything to prove your innocence, Luna." Her father comforted her.

"No father. I do not want you to meddle with this. Please do not let yourself get involved with this matter. You just need to take care of yourself and I could die in peace." She convinces her father not to do anything about it.

"But Luna… "

"Beta, your time is up. You have to get out now. You can still visit her tomorrow." The warrior guarding the prison declared.

"Chandra…" The beta sadly uttered his daughter's name and gave her daughter a handkerchief with an essence of a Moonflower. It is said to be that it is the favorite flower of the Moon Goddess and anyone who has an essence of it will be connected to her.

"Go now father. You do not have to worry about me. I will be okay. Death does not scare me. I already experience life as if I already die. Protect and take care of yourself." Luna assured her father and gave him a big smile. Even though she can't not hug her father because of the wall between them, she knows that her father loves her.

"It's funny how my life has fallen down. I used to be someone that every girl should be jealous of but today, I am already a nobody struggling to protect myself." Luna cried herself until she fell asleep as she recalled everything about her life.
