NATHAN

I felt like I was shrinking, and I had no way to stop the pain from consuming me. It was the worst experience ever, and although everything felt like a strange slanted hyperbole, I knew I had to get to Chloe. It was important to know if she was fine.

I stepped into the sitting area once more; there were more people around this time, and it was doing my head in. I had to get out of here. I wouldn’t be allowed to leave if I didn’t do something, and I needed to do something about it. There was a need to escape this place. I had no idea how I was going to do that, but I would, even if it cost me my life in the process. But, I wouldn’t keep letting things move from bad to worst. Chloe was alone there.

I pushed through the wall of people and tried to move undetected into the cold night, but father’s voice suddenly boomed from somewhere in the room.

“Nathan, where are you going?” Father’s voice boomed.
