Ch 8— You don't have a choice, sunshine.

SAMANTHA

"Um, well," I gulped, shooting daggers at the back of Matt's head from the backseat as he drove us home. "Some girls invited us to a party, for some reason." I couldn't believe I was being used as a messenger for Matt, it was just so ridiculous.

Matt shrugged, keeping his eyes fixed on the road ahead. "I'm not going, whatever," he scoffed, not even bothering to look at me. He kept driving, not giving me so much as a glance.

Matt had been in a sour mood the entire drive home, and I decided it was best not to pry and ask him what was bothering him. He seemed like the type who wouldn't appreciate being asked about his feelings, so I let him be.

"That's fine," I grumbled, gazing out the window. "Olly and I are actually going together; they invited him, too," I said, my voice a little louder than I'd intended. I hadn't meant to get Matt's attention, but I saw his head swivel towards me in the rearview mirror.
