Chapter 42 - He'd actually gone ahead and brought me here against my will.

Amelia’s point of view:

I stirred awake when I felt something tickling my nose. I blindly tried to swat it away with my hands but whatever it was, seemed incessant – like some itsy pitsy mosquito. It kept disturbing me.

Groaning, I pried my eyes open only to briskly squeeze my eyes shut again. It was too bright. What the heck? I had drawn my curtains last night before going to bed.

I swear to God if Alejandro opened those curtains, I’ll – wait a second! Since when was my room this bright in the morning? I pursed my lips and tried opening my eyes only to find an unfamiliar face hovering above my face and staring right back at me with genuine interest shining through their eyes.

My mouth opened in a frozen scream as the person leaning above me covered my lips before I could utter any kind of noises. Jerking away from her, I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, disgusted at this person’s touch.
