“RUN.” My wolf yelled inside of my head and somehow, her voice made it so difficult for me to give up even though my knees were threatening to give out. The smell of damp earth, sweat oozing out of my body mixed with blood that had exuded due to cuts on my skin by thorns as I navigated the forest made my stomach growl in irritation. It made me feel like I would puke. “I can't go any further.” I answered, panting as I sprinted through the brambles. The sound of the cool breeze and birds chirping made it seem more eerie as the sound from the guards boots filled the air behind me. “You have to! You know what would happen if they catch up with you.” Nyx yelled inside of my head and tears rolled out of my eyes as sweat from my forehead got into my eyes. “I know, I know. Now is not the best time to remind me.” I bumped headfirst into a tree and gritted my teeth, not letting the pain pass before I picked up pace yet again. “Run faster, letting them catch you is not an option. Even if they do nothing to you at first, your step mother and her daughter would definitely have your head on a platter.” I felt like screaming at Nyx to shut the hell up as I was trying really hard to concentrate but decided against it. I let out a sharp yell as I stumbled on a rock on the floor and fell into a wall— or more specifically, someone. “Get out of my way.” I screamed, turning backwards to see that the guards who were chasing after me were almost closing in on me. I tried to run off when the person I had ran into pulled me back and I had no other option but to bite into his skin as hard as I could. Unfortunately, that didn't do anything as he just stared at me with an amused expression. “Let go of me.” I yelled wiggling out of his grasp but his hold was firm. “Why should I do that? You're the one that bumped into me.” He raised a brow and I felt a tingly feeling inside of me, must be the adrenaline rush. “Can't you see I'm trying to escape? I apologize, okay?” I yelled but he wasn't letting go despite how I punched and pinched his hands. “More reason why I shouldn't let you go. What did you commit that would make you want to escape?” I stared at him like he was going mad but it was already too late because the guards had already circled us. “This is all your fault.” All hopes I had since the moment I ran out of the house after catching wind of the information that I was about to be sold off to the Alpha of our pack came crumbling down. My eyes darted back and forth as I scanned their midst for an escape route but the more I looked, the more I realized how trapped I was. “Okay, okay. Let's be civil about this, why can't y'all let me alone? You're not the ones that is about to get married to someone rumoured to be a monster right? Would you let your daughters marry him?” I tried to use the ignorant card as I kept moving backwards. “You're to return to the pack now.” The leader of the guards ordered and I nodded resignedly. There was nothing more I could do. “Like I don't know that already.” I mouthed and my wolf purred inside of me. “You're not really going back with them, are you?” My wolf queried inside of me and I gritted my teeth scanning their faces. “No, I'm not. We'll look for another escape plan.” I whispered as I walked towards the guards so they could restrain me as per their method. “Hold on.” The guy that was the main reason I got delayed in the first place suddenly said and the guards turned to his direction. “You can't chase someone past your borders and then take them away without seeking permission from my King first.” I turned wondering what he was talking about and the guards swerved looking around before the leader of the guards walked up to him. “We know we've passed the boundary but we don't answer to low life's. If your Alpha has a problem, he can send a complaint through a pigeon to Alpha Kavinsky.” The guards glared at him and I pursed my lips. This man is just going to put himself in more trouble and make things hard for me. “Alpha Kavinsky? I don't care much about him and I don't think my King will also. All I know is that she can't leave without her consent. If she wants you to take her, you go ahead and do that. If she doesn't, she can't leave.” “I'm giving y'all what would be considered a cheat code because if our King finds out that you tried to forcefully take someone off his lands, oh you're all going to be in trouble.” I bit my lips wondering, if only the Alpha of this pack could see this scenario, maybe he would be able to help. “Run back to your hut, young man if you don't want to have your tongue chopped off.” The guard leader warned and then turned back to us, “Let's return. We can't keep the Alpha waiting.” My hands were already bound as they pushed me forward but there was an absolute pause as it seemed like arrows were raining from the sky. They were being shot by professionals because the placement of the arrows landing just a few inches from where each of us stood was deliberate. If they wanted us dead, they could have easily targeted and shot us down. “Take cover.” The guard yelled but before they could move, some warriors had already surrounded us. Their uniform was quite different from ours and the arrows had a particular fang symbol that made me shiver just by staring at it. Their attack was unitary and even the way they landed at strategic positions was all perfect. “We don't mean to trespass, gentlemen. Take us to your Alpha and he would advise y'all not to be unreasonable.” The leader of the guards said in a loud voice and the guy from earlier stepped forward. “Tell your Alpha Kavinsky that he can piss off. I'm well aware that our King wouldn't want to see him.” The guy countered and I must say, he has guts. “Do you have a death wish?” The guard leader asked, squinting his eyes while I tried to wiggle out of the chains they had bound me with but it seemed impossible. “No. The king hands death letters instead and I deliver them, it's more fun.” He stated smiling like a maniac before shrugging and walking away like whatever was happening was none of his business. “Don't say I didn't warn you.” He whistled. “Now that the talking parrot has gone away, can we talk about this like warriors? This is Alpha Kavinsky’s bride that got lost, you'd be doing him a great favor by letting us take her back and also winning the Alpha's favor; he might even grant an alliance.” That offer was intriguing for assholes like them so I'm sure they would let them take me back. “I didn't get lost, I ran.” I yelled and one of the guards made to slap me but his hands were held back by the warriors of this pack. “Well, your statement has been contradicted by that of the lady and pack rules say, any one that gets in here is part of us and can't leave or be taken until permission is gotten from our King. And I don't give two fucks about who Alpha Kavinsky is anyways so you'll have to answer to my King first.” With a flicker of hand, we were getting bound as fast as lightning as they led the way to their King's court. And now, all I have to do is convince the Alpha that I don't want to leave. “The whole battalion can't go in to see the King, only the lady, the leader of the guards and 3 others.” One of the men in front of the door to the King's throne room stated and they pushed me forward while the leader of our guards held me by the chain they had used to bind me. “Alaric,” I called the guard leader and he swerved, “To stop all of this, you could tell Alpha Kavinsky that I escaped. Why not just let me go?” I whispered but his face remained rigid as ever. What did I expect? His loyalty belongs to the Almighty Alpha Kavinsky. “The King would see you now. To be clear, he likes orderliness so maintain that. And also, if you go against his rule and it boils up to the point where your head would roll, your Alpha Kavinsky might not be able to save you.” They warned. Now just how scary is their Alpha? The walls seemed to tremble when they were referring to him and they wouldn't dare mention his name. We walked in and the throne room was as silent as ever while the King sat at the top with his back to us. “Thanks for having us, Alpha. It would be greatly rewarded if you —” The leader of the guards began immediately we went in and gestures were made from the warriors in the court for him to shut the hell up. Didn't Alaric hear the monologue that they gave us before we came in? “Who gave you the order to speak?” The Alpha's voice thundered though it sounded a little familiar and I raised an eyebrow stretching my neck to get a good view of who was seated on the throne. “We're all warriors and I'm representing Alpha Kavinsky here. Don't you think it's best if we talk about this like men?” Alaric negotiated and I could feel the saliva dry off from my lips at each passing moment. “Is that so?” The King swerved slowly in the chair till he was facing us and both I and Alaric's eyes widened. It was that guy we had met earlier in the woods. What in the name—AryaI didn't know what else to say. I was worried, bothered, and confused. I wished there was a way for things to be able to work out well enough. I was trying to make it easier for me. It wasn't something I was hoping for, but then it had already happened, and there was no way that I could know what he was thinking. “You're letting me go right?" I asked with worry on my mind. I knew there were a lot of things involved. I wished there was a way to make things work out well enough."You don't have to worry things are going to be fine. I can tell that things are going to be fine. You don't have to worry.” My wolf assured me as my mind went blank while I waited for him to break the rest of the news to me. Why was he even doing that? I didn't really get the concept of what was going on, but I knew it wasn't really as good as I was expecting it to be. I tried my best to be able to fight this off. I didn't really know what else to say about it. I kn
Arya She was right. Maybe that would help me feel better. Besides, I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I didn't really know what else to do other than to eat. I nodded, and that was a signal for her to go prepare her bath. As for me, all I wanted was pretty simple. I just needed to be able to make sense of the whole thing. I needed to be able to make sense of the whole issue that had just happened. I wished there was a way for me to be able to make things work out. I needed to be able to get things done. As soon as she left, I exhaled, holding on to the sheets. They needed to be changed as well. I knew they needed to be changed. It was kind of strange how things happened, but I really didn't know what else to say. How can two mates hate themselves so much? It wasn't really making any sense.I sighed, turning my head towards her direction. She was so fast and was able to prepare the bath so fast. “The bath is ready, y
Arya. The hate I felt for him was now more than before. I knew now that what I felt for him was more than pure hatred. It was everything that he couldn't imagine. The fact that he has claimed me didn't help me ease the hatred. I had one indoors, and stepping out wasn't something I wanted to do anymore. I didn't want to run into him or even see his face.As for Elara, I noticed she didn't come to me this morning. Did he give her orders not to? Well, I didn't even care. Before Elara became my friend I was always alone so it wasn't something I knew. Maybe I was just not used to all the things that were happening. I had been trying my best to make myself fine. “I don't care what will happen. I knew there was already a lot involved, all I needed was to make sure that the right things were put in place. I didn't really care. I wished that things would go well.”At that moment, the door was pushed open and Elara walked in. She was holding a big t
VietI was impatient it was almost morning and i hadn't heard from her. Did they really have that much fun last night? My teeth shines brightly because I couldn't contain my smirk. I knew she was going to get the task done. She was too scared to lose me as a mother. Her father and I were the only family she had. Waiting for good news was like waiting frim dusk till dawn. It took ages, and yet it was just a little time. I opened the wine in my room, pouring myself a glass.“You want some, honey?" I asked my mate who was seated on the bed his head rested on the bed rest, but he seemed absent minded. When he didn't respond to me, I took a sip of the wine I had poured myself and immediately chuckled. It wasn't loud. It was gentle. It was soft, and it was all in the right place. "You don't need to worry about everything. Things will slowly fall into places and when they do, we won't have to think too much. Olivia has to just pl
KAI“I hate you…” her voice reached my ears when I was about to head out the room, and I could only tell her I felt the same way. This was all Viet's fault. If she hadn't brought her daughter to my room, I wouldn't have left. “All that was for the moongoodess. She was the reason all these happened, and maybe you should actually appreciate the fact that it did. She was such a–” "Enough!” I yelled. I had been walking for sometime because I had been in thought, but the moment I got to my room, I finally sensed a kind of peace."Can you please stop trying to be something you're not? I dont know how else to say it to you. I know that things aren't the way we see them, but please..” I really didn't say a word. I was the one who felt really bad about everything, but for me, it was the exact opposite. I wished there was a way to make things work out well enough. I needed to ensure that things were in place this time. “You shouldn't b
AryaI laid there a lang of pin reaching me. It was something I didn't rest expect, but then I didn't know what else to do about the whole thing. I was tired, and tensed. I wished that things didn't happen.“Why did you come here?!” I started, breathing hard. I knew he understood what I was trying to say but it seemed like he wasn't getting it well enough. What the hell was actually going on? Well, I didn't know what was happening, but I knew that the deed had been done. There was nothing he could do to save the situation now. He was the reason all this happened, it was all his fault. He was silent, his silence eating deep into my skin. I didn't know how else to begin, but I knew something wasn't right. I knew it wasn't so easy.“Are you going to say something? This wasn't the deal. I stayed away from you as much I could. I don't even know what I was doing anymore, and that's all you can say?" He hired, but didn't say anyt
