Aéron's point of view

The last light of dusk stretched across the unfamiliar mountains as I stood at the edge of our temporary camp, staring into the distance. We had crossed several pack territories since leaving Red Moon Pack.

One by one, allied wolves had joined us, bringing warriors, supplies, and whatever information they had gathered about the fortress. The army behind me was enormous now, but the sight did nothing to calm the storm inside my chest.

I was still in my wolf form. Fenrir pa

Aéron's point of view The wind howled between the trees as Dmitri and I stood facing each other. For a moment, neither of us moved. Then his eyes hardened. He charged. I met him halfway. Our bodies collided with enough force to shake the snow from the branches above us. I swung my weapon toward him, but Dmitri twisted away and struck my ribs with his elbow. Pain flashed through my side, but I barely reacted before grabbing his arm and throwing him into the snow.He rolled before I could pin him. "You're still predictable," he growled.I wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth. "And you're still talking too much."He almost smiled. Almost. Then his expression changed. The white wolf inside him took over. Bones cracked. His body twisted as white fur spread across his skin, his face stretching into the muzzle of a wolf. Within seconds, the man I had known disappeared beneath the enormous white wolf standing before me.Fenrir pushed against my consciousness. Let me.I didn't answer.

Aéron's point of view For several seconds, I couldn't move. The white wolf stood among the rogues, his pale fur almost blending with the snow around him. His eyes remained fixed on me, as though he was trying to convince himself that the man standing before him was actually the same person he had once known."Aéron?" That voice. Even after all these years, I knew it.My fingers tightened around the weapon in my hand. "Dmitri?" The name left my mouth before I could stop it.Behind me, my warriors shifted uneasily. They had no idea who this man was. Neither did they understand why I had suddenly stopped fighting. But I did.Because the last time I had seen Dmitri, we had been standing together on the training grounds of the Alpha Academy, covered in dirt after another brutal training session. We had been young, reckless, and convinced that nothing in the world could separate us.He had been one of my closest friends. One of the few people who knew me before I became Alpha. Before my fa

Elara's point of view I had no idea how long I had been searching. The library seemed endless. Every shelf held another collection of ancient books, scrolls, maps, records, and objects that looked as though they had not been touched in centuries. Some of the books were written in languages I couldn't understand, while others contained symbols that made Nyra strangely restless whenever I opened them.I had already found Valerie's picture. That alone had shaken me more than I wanted to admit. The woman in the painting had golden hair that fell almost to her waist, and although her face looked remarkably similar to mine, there was something different about her. She had a softness that came from a completely different life. She had been raised here. She had grown up knowing who she was.I had grown up believing I was human. The thought still hurt. I moved toward another old shelf, running my fingers over the dusty bindings."Maybe we're looking in the wrong place," I whispered.Perhaps.

Elara's point of view I waited until I was certain the footsteps outside my room had moved farther away before I finally opened my eyes. I had spent what felt like hours sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at the door and thinking about every possible way I could get out of this fortress. The obvious answer was simple. Walk out. Unfortunately, the obvious answer was also impossible. Henry had guards everywhere. I slowly stood from the bed and walked toward the door. My legs felt heavier than usual, but I forced myself to move quietly. I placed my hand on the handle and turned it as slowly as I could, careful not to let the metal click. The door opened by barely an inch. I leaned forward and looked through the gap. A guard was standing in the corridor. He had a weapon strapped across his body, and his eyes constantly moved from one end of the corridor to the other. Another guard was patrolling farther down the hall, his footsteps echoing softly against the stone floor.I immediate

Aéron's point of view The mountain seemed determined to test every ounce of patience I had left.By the time we crossed another checkpoint, the sun had already begun to disappear behind the thick clouds hanging over the northern range. The air had become colder, thinner, and far more difficult to breathe with every step we took uphill. Snow covered parts of the path, while other sections were nothing but wet stone, mud, and tangled roots. Every warrior carried enough supplies to survive several more days, but I knew that supplies were not our biggest problem anymore. It was the mountain. And whatever was waiting for us beyond it. We had already lost valuable time moving through unfamiliar territory, and I refused to waste another minute unless absolutely necessary. When we finally reached a narrow clearing between two enormous cliffs, I ordered everyone to stop and rest. The warriors immediately began checking their weapons, tightening the straps of their bags, sharing water, and ten

Elara's point of view I looked up with hope when Nyra agreed with me and said that there is one way we must do. I hope our thoughts are aligned. "What? What is that one way?" I asked with curiosity running through my blood. I was willing to do anything to escape this hell, even if I had to pay for it.The library. Do you remember we saw the library in the East wing? Nyra asked. My heart sank. "The library?" I immediately remembered the corridor from earlier.Henry had deliberately shown me that part of the fortress, but he had never allowed me to explore it properly. He was testing me all this time and I failed but it doesn't matter to me. I won't fail for Aéron. I remembered the huge gates at the end of the East wing and Nyra had recognized the route."You think the answers are there? Even if so, do we have enough time to get them?" I know Nyra was helping but I was afraid of getting caught. Henry's recent changed behaviour traumatized me but I need something to traumatize him back
