Kade’s POV

These Forsaken bunch attacked like they were demons released from hell.

“Scatter!” I roared, pushing Liora behind me.

The leader of the Forsaken came straight at me, his jaws wide enough to take off my head. I barely maneuvered to one side, as its fangs grazed my injured shoulder. This might be an understatement here because my shoulder wa already ruined. Pain exploded through my body, but I spun and dashed my claws down its scarred side. What came out was Black, oily blood.

Kade’s POVThese Forsaken bunch attacked like they were demons released from hell.“Scatter!” I roared, pushing Liora behind me. What came out was Black, oily blood.“You dare refuse us!” it snarled, sounding like a cantata of plenty people talking at the same time. “Foolish boy!”Sable opened fire, doing what she going with her glowing tranquilizer rounds. “They heal fast! Aim for the eyes or throats!”Liora was still by my side . The collar was draining her but she was still on her feet. What a woman. She picked up a fallen rifle and started shooting. “These things smell worse than the golden freaks!”Jax and the few remaining fighters formed an incomplete circle

Kade’s POV“Blood of Thorn.. how we have waited long for this reunion.”The words rolled out of the lead Forsaken’s mouth like something rotten. Its blood-red eyes was filled with cruel intelligence as it came forward, and the other four monstrous wolves who flanked looked like shadows with teeth.I stepped in front of Liora, ignoring the malignant pain screaming through my injured shoulder. “Who the fuck are you?”Sable came to stand beside me, and her rifle was raised halfway. “Kade, don’t engage them. The Forsaken aren’t just twisted wolves. They’re old. Cursed. Michelle didn’t create them, she just let them off their leash.”The leader of Forsaken inclined its massive head to one side, drooling something black. Can't even begin to guess what that actually is. “Sable Thorn, the lost daughter. How fitting that the whole bloodline gathers tonight.” Its voice was coming out in layers, like multiple freakedup things speaking at once. “We remember your mother’s screams when she bargain

  • MARKED BY THE ALPHAS HEAT   THE FORSAKEN

Kade’s POVThe roof of the SUV was peeled off like a tomato can.The wind was cold. The enhanced wolf’s claws reached down, and swiped at my head. I leaned sideways, slamming into Liora as the claws missed me by inches and tore into the upholstery. “Drive faster!” I shouted at Sable. She was already doing exactly that, swerving hard through traffic and onto the ramp leading to the old tunnel. Vehicles horned behind us. The SUV drifted like it was Fast and Furious, while the wolf on the roof kept digging. Liora turned in the seat and fired at the roof of the car. The gunshot was loud inside the vehicle. The enhanced wolf caught the bullet in the chest but it didn’t fall. These things really didn’t feel pain the way we did.“Persistent bastard!” she snarled.Sable glanced in the mirror. “Thirty seconds to the tunnel. If we can make it inside, the signal blockers built into the walls might scramble their coordination for a bit.”Another freak wolf crashed against the side of the SUV,

Kade’s POVBrother.Hard word if you asked me, and it definitely hit harder than any claw or silver bullet.I froze, blood dripping from my face like some faucet, the collar still burning like molten silver around my neck. Liora stumbled into my side, as the woman stepped forward confidently through all the chaos. She was tall, had an athletic build, had dark hair which was cropped short, and eyes that glowed with the same silver I saw in the mirror every time I shifted. She looked like me. Older by a few years, maybe. And she has this hard look on her face. Like life had chewed her up and spit her out different. “Surprised?” she called out. “You always did have shit timing, little brother.”Another group of enhanced wolves went after her. She raised her rifle, and without without missing a beat, fired three accurate shots. The darts which came out of the gun muzzle hit the targets in their eyes, and the freaks dropped like sacks of meat. Her team moved like they’d been training f

  • MARKED BY THE ALPHAS HEAT   THE NEWCOMERS

Kade’s POVTwenty-five seconds.Hell of a time. The jaws of the fake wolf pressed around my throat, not enough to crush, but enough to remind me how easily it could. My big black wolf tried to get out from underneath its weight, my muscles burned, and blood poured from a dozen fresh wounds. Trying to breathe was a fucking struggle. The pack bond screamed with fear and pain from my wolves, some still fighting, most pinned down or injured.I locked eyes with Liora across the yard soaked with blood. She was on her knees again, two enhanced wolves holding her. The silver collar was still there, active. Her face was pale, lips split open and bleeding, but that fire in her eyes hadn’t gone out. Not yet.“Kade...” Her voice sounded cracked, through the chaos. “Don’t you fucking dare.”Fifteen seconds now. “Smart decision-making window is closing, Mr. Thorn. Submit to the program. Let us study you. In return, your pack lives. But if you refuse, well, I'll let you watch them die screaming.”

  • MARKED BY THE ALPHAS HEAT   ALPHA OF THE FAKES

Kade’s POVThis particular first wave came at us like a storm. Golden eyes were all over the yard, leaping over rusted containers and broken concrete. These weren’t mindless beasts, even though they weren't like the rest of my kind, they moved with control. They were precise, like they actually knew what they were doing. My pack hid for cover behind the warehouse doors, dragging the wounded inside while those who could still fight took up frontline. I pushed Liora behind me regardless of the fact that my injured shoulder was screaming like hell. “Stay back!”“Like hell,” she snapped, already raising the rifle. The silver collar was working its magic as it flared brighter, making a frown, but she still squeezed the trigger anyway. Two enhanced wolves dropped, silver rounds going right through them. Beside me, Jax fully shifted into a silver-gray wolf with blood already staining his fur. “We can’t hold this position, Alpha! There’s too many!”He was right. For every one we took dow

CALLIX Yeah, she had a banging body. And it was accentuated in the slit skirt that she wore. Not that it showed any flesh, no. But it was sexy in a way. And she had a jacket ensemble on her upper half. Something made me go to the door and open it for her. She stared at me for a moment. As if sh

CALLIXDon could list a couple of things that I had done to people who tried to mess with me, and he would keep a smile on his face as he said it. Sometimes, he would make it into a story and that was only when he knew that the victim wasn't getting out of there alive. Yeah, dead men tell no tales

CALLIX Don was going to rein a blow in but I held up a hand to stop him before the damage was done. "No, let him talk," I granted. Yeah, he could say whatever shit he wanted to say, hoping that it was going to hurt me to make me feel less of myself. Or less of a father that I could ever be. I've
