Reuben and Susan stared at Sunday through the perfectly clean and transparent doors of his hospital room. It had been two days since the explosion, the affairs at the white baker were slowly getting back to normal, and as expected, the CSS had blamed the explosion on a terrorist attack. However, funds had been given to the hotel's management, and repairs had already commenced, but the people were still shaken from the incident, a couple of people had been hurt, some even worse than others, plenty were obviously still shaken, and while the repairs were still ongoing, the authorities adviced that no one visited the hotel, at least not in the mean time. Some nurses gathered round Sunday, three of them to be exact, they mumbled a few things, none of which he could hear, or even anyone else for that matter. Then after a while, one of them left, and almost immediately after, the second nurse nodded to the last nurse, before she equally left, the remaining nurse knew what she had to do, she took one look at Sunday and then fixed her eyes on his IV, her job was simple, all she had to do, was kill him. The next minute she turned around, and it looked like she was heading for the door, when she stopped, reached in for the curtains by the doors, and pulled them over the transparent glass. With a cunning demeanor, she sashayed towards Sunday who rested helplessly on his bed. Alice had tried figuring out a way to escape ever since they trapped her inside the room. She knew they would be back soon, or at least she hoped they would come back. She looked up at the old clock on the wall, it was riddled with cobwebs, but she could still make out the time, it was eight in the evening. For the past nine hours she hadn't seen anyone, it was almost as if no one was coming. She had tried listening for foot steps or even faint voices, but nothing. The room was dirty indeed. But there were still a few old things she could put to good use, like the cutlass she had found by the broken down cupboard for instance, or pieces from a shattered mirror, she wrapped a large piece of dirty cloth at the end of the broken mirror. " Maybe if you hadn't been the imbeciles that you were, Sunday would already be dead by now !! " Fasting barked into the cell phone he held in his hands. " We can still catch him " the man on the other end of the line answered. " And how do you plan to do just that ?" Fasting asked again, in a less aggravated tone. " We know he's coming for you " the man answered again. " And how do you know this ? does he have my location ? " Fasting asked. " Yes, they have agent Thomas's cell phone, " the man who happened to be on the other end of the line spoke. It was Shola, and Fasting could already tell. Fasting took a deep breath, and from the way he sighed, Shola could detect his disappointment. " You had one job to do, kill Sunday and bring me that flash. " We have to find a way out of here, " Alice whispered determined to escape. " They'll catch you before you'll be able to escape " David warned, straining to sit up. "We don't have a choice, they'll kill both of us if we stay here " Alice assured. " You know you're much braver than you look " David said smiling. David staggered for a while, groaned and hissed from the pain all over his body, but Alice was right, they would surely die if they stayed here any longer. Alice hid behind a curtain and watched the goons as they ran in the opposite direction, she waited until the sounds of footsteps were far off before she crept out from her hiding place. She thought they had all gone when suddenly she felt something against the back of her head. " Turn around, slowly" she heard the voice say. She obeyed and turned, but was anything but slow, she grabbed the gun from the man, kicked him where the sun don't shine before he had an opportunity to shoot, then she aimed the gun at him. Alice sobbed, her head shook widely in disbelief .Fasting hadn't just done what she thought he had ? he couldn't have killed her entire family, it wasn't possible. Sunday drove like a mad man down the dark streets, going on such speed it looked as if the car was flying. But the mercedes was up to the task and it didn't faulter, not once.
