LOGINKerrick's p.o.vFor the first time I am enjoying watching the news.I shouldn't be this happy but I am ecstatic. Watching his downfall on live television is a better high than anything I have ever tried. "Why do you hate him so much? Is it just because of a girl?" I had forgotten about Rackel. I ignore her and put the volume maximum. "The unexplainable dissapearance of the project manager of Ray's foundation raises questions."All the tv channels have a version of that. Some nicer than the others. My current favourite is; Is the heir of the ray's foundation a circumstancial or a habitual killer?I let out the laughter I have been holding in.I don't know about before, but I am quite certain that he won't be able to get away with this. "She still won't choose you." Like the angel of doom Rackel announces. I have doubts, of course I have doubts. But then again she had it in her to love Avan. I can't be that bad. She can love me too. I turn to another channel, expecting to find A
Avan's p.o.vMaybe coming here wasn't as good as an idea as I had initially thought. So far Vienna has managed to keep her curiosity regarding my relationship with Amelia to herself. But that is about to end. I hear her footsteps even before the door opens."Hey love," l look up at her as she hastily closes the door behind her. "I can't leave you alone for a second," there is the warmth in her eyes like there always is when she talks to me. She turns to Vienna who has gone back to clutching her phone again, like she is holding on for dear life. "How have you been? It's been a while," she asks politely. "I have been good." I smile at the politeness covering up for whatever it is they really want to say to each other."You look good, not like the way you were when we first met," Amelia tells Vienna, and they both turn to look at me. We have never talked about the fire or even the way I had held her. After I came back we have barely talked.I feel like something between us has ch
CONSPIRANCY REGARDING THE RAY FOUNDATION; IS THE BILLIONAIRE HEIR RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DISAPPERANCE OF THE PROJECT MANAGER?The headlines are huge, and they are on every newspaper stand. I slow down and get one for myself. When I get to work, there are journalists waiting outside my office. “Do you know Mr. Avan Ray?” The first one to notice me, asks making everyone turn to face me.I have never been a fun of attention. I look around until I see a familiar face at the back of the crowd. Christine looks as confused as me.She points to my office. “I have no idea what this is about,” I start making my way to my office. They don’t make it easy.“Do you know where he is?” Another journalist shouts. I assume him. “Is he your patient? Is he a danger to others?” Another one asks.I am still making my way through the crowd of information hungry journalists. “Is he crazy and did he kill his project manager?” Before this morning I did not know about the existence of this project manager or of he
"What is the meaning of this?" She has a sadistic smile on that I have never seen before. I try unlinking my arm from Kerrick, but he won't let me. "What is it to you?" He spats at her, and I cringe. "I was not asking you," her eyes are fixed on me. I open my mouth and close it without saying anything. What am I supposed to say that is not a lie, and that won't make her feel betrayed. They are both staring at me. Jade is waiting for an explanation, an acceptable excuse. At this point I feel like even a well crafted lie would do. Kerrick is looking at me confused, unaware of the promise I made to Jade. "It is exactly what it looks like, we are out on a date," he says, still wondering why I am finding it hard to find my words. "Oh, and how was it?" Her face is still curved into that sadistic smile. "She is a delight," Kerrick gives me a smile. I have given up trying to wiggle out of his hold. "What about you?" She is staring daggers at me. Maybe if I tell her the date was bad
I am trying to talk myself into going through with it. It is just a meal. I can feel his eyes on me, but I don’t have the courage to look at him. I am afraid he will see my hesitation.“Are you cold?” I shake my head no. We are at the hotel entrance. I take a deep breath as he opens the door.I walk in, and he walks slightly behind me. It is a nice hotel, charming and romantic. He pulls my seat for me.After settling, a waitress brings us our menus. I hide behind mine, trying to compose myself. “Have you decided?” The waitress is flicking her pen impatiently on her note pad.“I’ll have spaghetti and meatballs,” Kerrick answers, giving her his menu back. I have not had enough time to decide.“I’ll have the same,” I give her my menu too. “How about drinks?” she asks holding both menus in one hand and her writing pad in the other.“A glass of white wine,” she nods, before looking at Kerrick. “Scotch,” he answers.“How is work?” I ask him. He thinks for a minute, as if measuring his answe
I close my eyes and dive into te pool. It is almost dark and I am the only one in the pool. I enjoy the coolness of the water. Focusing on the feel of the water, is relaxing. I swim to the edge before coming up for air. I find Kerrick waiting for me. "You scared me," I get out of the pool."Sorry," he says sincerely. I walk ahead of him. I get a towel and start drying myself, before turning back to him. "So why are you here?" I still haven't had a chance to bring up what I found in his office and I am not sure if I should. "Go out with me," he blurts. I stop drying my hair. I am not sure if I heard him correctly. "What? Like a date?" His eyes dart to the side before finding their way back to mine. "Yes a date." I can't help the smile that creeps on my face. But the happiness is short lived. I remember my talk with Jade. "I am sorry, but I can't," I start to walk away. "Why not?" He asks following closely behind me. "I have my reasons," if they are to reconcile he should never k
I hear a voice from a distance. I try to open my eyes but the light is too bright and I close them as soon as I do. "Hey, how are you feeling" I hear a familiar voice I cannot place. "You were supposed to come meet me yesterday and you did not show nor leave a message," I try to think what appointm
It is four in the morning and I wake up to a banging on my door. At first I really think i'm dreaming but after waking up I realize that i'm not. After checking on the camera I see Jade seated on the other side of my door. I open the door. She looks sick. She is all wet from the rain and her face
One of the reasons I chose psychiatry was there is rarely any kind of emmergency that cannot wait until morning. That means I get to sleep through the night and not worry that my patients may be dying. So when my phone started to ring in the middle of the night, I took a pillow and covered my ears
It's raining when I get up and continues to do so until i'm in my office building. I find Christine peeping into my office holding two cups of coffee. "What are we looking at?" she jumps obviously startled. "Oh, you're here," she says giving me a quick glance and goes back to looking into my office
