Trigger warning: Assault
Oh the moon goddess is a player, alright. She loves to play these games.I am not going to fall for this.
It truly does not matter whether he's my mate or not. The hate does not change; I hate him just as much as he hates me. The jealousy I am feeling at this moment, watching him laugh and touch this princess wolf is all fake.
It's a ruse.
Without the mate bond, I would feel nothing but utter disgust for a pack wolf like himself.
He means nothing.
With this realization, I turn around to leave. The sun is already begun to sink and the weather feels right for a swim.
Yeah. A swim will be nice...
I can wash away the envy sticking to my skin and cleanse my mind of Liam. I decide then to leave for the river within pack grounds.
The Silver Moon pack is extremely large, spanning over two different rivers and many acres of land. The river I am heading to now, is the less popular one.
Rogues are rumored to sneak around the area. I guess it's befitting then that I go there; I am a rogue afterall.
I pass by the sparring warriors again and hear them laugh.
"She must have seen the Alpha's proposed Luna. Sad...did she think she was something special?" One of them says as I walk, shakily rubbing my hands.
"Oho. Maybe she thought that the almighty rogue killer Alpha Liam would fall for her! A rogue?" A rough sounding man guffaws. I look through my dark curtain of hair at him. Numerous goosebumps of anger and shame cover me like a cloth.
"A common plaything? A sex slave like her? I heard the alpha is very shameless with her...going at it in public. Makes me get a hardon thinking about it. She looks so..."
I block my ears and walk faster, feeling the burning stares at my back.
Even as my ears are blocked I can still hear the muffled sound of their laughter.
Can I disappear?
I run down the field, letting the wind whip my face and make my dress dance. My eyes are burning and I feel hot tears stream down my face.
The forest stands in the distance, calling me. I can't escape from this place but I can retreat to somewhere quiet, somewhere I can't hear their taunts.
Oh how I hate you...
Liam's spiteful words. Someone who saw him curse at me would never believe he was the same person with that princess wolf.
His smile and gentle touch.
It should not matter.
It's the mate bond. This thing is controlling me immensely; I hate the feeling of losing control.
Can I reject him? Will that free me?
No. I would die. The alpha made it clear- the only thing keeping me alive was the fact that I could bear a strong heir for him. Nothing more.
Rejecting him would mean I was ready for death. A great lie.
My legs don't carry me fast enough. Before I can get to the thick forest leading to the river, someone grabs me forcefully.
It's one of the warriors.
No. There are five of them. I recognize the rough sounding man and his damned subordinates.
"W-what do you want?" I'm panting from the effort I put into running. The warriors look at me; their faces full of hunger. I back away, feel my legs shake.
The leader laughs. "I've been wondering what the Alpha sees in you. I've been hungry for a taste...I want to know."
I shake my head know; the sun is setting, sinking below the horizon and leaving me in darkness.
I'm too far from the pack houses so even if I scream, it will be of no use.
"A-alpha Liam will...he will-"
"He will what, useless rogue? What exactly will he do?" The second warrior says and starts to remove his shirt. My lips are trembling and my knees feel like buckling over.
"The Alpha doesn't care one bit for you. Sure, he gave orders but that's because he wants you all to himself. I want to know why..."
An owl hoots somewhere in the forest; the wind blows cool. I back away further but trip on a fallen branch and fall. The warriors laugh, I hear them ripping their clothes.
I try to scramble to my feet but someone drags my legs.
"No! No!!"
"You are nothing but a stupid sex slave. Do your work, girl. Do your work..."
Like a mad woman, I scream and kick. I bite any hand that touches me and kick whatever is in range.
"Get your hands off me! Go away I'm begging you! Please!"
My wolf is too weak to shift so I have nothing but my tiny claws and canines. I make the most of it, biting and tearnin6my attackers.
The laugh at everything I do; untouched by my efforts.
"Oh she's feisty. This will be fun."
I cry a river, wailing and praying that someone would hear my screams. An inner voice laughs at this moment.
Who will care if a rogue dies?
No one...
This is the sad truth. I'm getting weaker and the men are preparing to take me right here, in the fields.
Tears leak out of my eyes as I realize that there's absolutely nothing I can do to stop these lust-crazed wolves.
Can I just disappear?
The world is spinning; I hear them rip my dress. My bare thighs are exposed to the harsh cold of the evening. I feel someone's hands around my legs.
Sounds are becoming muffled.
"...such a beauty."
"...alpha's got good taste."
"...let me have a go."
My vision is getting blurry and the world looks like it's all merging together.
I can hardly breathe from fear; my body tingles and I wonder if I'm dying. Two rough hands grab my legs. "I will be the first..."
The fellow above me drags, leans over me and whispers harshly in my ear; "hope you're ready for me girl?"
Before I can beg to be freed once more, I hear a thunderous growl.
My body tingles again.
Liam?
Gwens POVThe night air was very hard against my skin, yet I hardly noticed it. The agony and pain brushing through my body overshadowed all else the bruises, burns, and bleeding wounds. Every step felt like I was moving on a broken glass, but I couldn't afford to stop.We had escaped. Against all odds, we were alive. But we were not safe not yet.Liam could barely say anything, his complexion ghostly and his injuries worsening. He had lost too much blood. Alven hadn't said a word since we rescued him from hell, his expression dark, void and his eyes devoid of life. Xander was wounded with a deep stab in his thigh, but he pressed on, determined not to lag.I forced myself to stay strong. I had no choice; if I broke now, we would all fall apart Asap. And that was something we simply could not afford. Not now. Not yet.****We ventured deeper into the woods, branches scratching my arms while shadows showed around us. The sound of rustling leaves quickened my heartbeat. Ronan's men coul
Gwens POVTime stood still and strong, as Ronan pulled back the hood, anticipating. The dungeon air felt heavy and breathtaking more than anything else. My body shook, and my wrists were still bound with silver chains, and that was paining me, but none of that registered, not at all. Because standing in Ronan's hold was a face I never expected to see again.Xander....I inhaled sharply, my heart racing like a tornado. He seemed different older and tougher but undeniably him. His dark hair was scattered and rough, his clothes torned like rag, and there was a fresh cut on his cheek."Well, well," Ronan said, tightening his grip on Xander's arm. "Didn't see this coming tho."Xander's golden eyes moved to mine, holding an unreadable and yet knowingly emotion. "Gwen," he whispered.I barely registered his words. My head was spinning, really really spinning. What was he doing here? How had he tracked me down? And why did he come alone, this and may more questions began running through my min
Gwens POVPain had become my best and closest friend,we sleep together and do wake together. The hard walls of the dungeon pressed against my back, with the dampness and dirt in it wrapping around me like an additional layer of despair. My wrists throbbed where the silver chains gripped them, each motion sending new jolts of pain through my body like electric. We had been here for days perhaps even longer. Time had become meaningless, useless too...Liam barely said a word. His body was frail and weak, his wounds untreated. Alven... Alven hadn't spoken since that fateful night. Since everything was taken from him. He sat silently, his head bowed, breathing slowly and fast as well.Ronan had shattered us, he had destroyed us.But his torment wasn't over. When the door creaked open, I forced myself to raise my head, preparing for what was to come.Still, I wasn't prepared, not yet actually. Two guards entered first, their expressions unreadable. Ronan followed, strolling in as if entering
Gwens POVI had grown used to several pains over time. Countless beatings, suffering, betrayals, and wounds had hardened me it has really made me tough, but nothing could have prepared me for my current reality, more brutal and breathtaking. The freezing and cold walls of the cell pressed against me, my wrist still tied in silver chains like a goat and that really brushed my skin. Liam was barely awake, his head hanging low and high like a jalopy, blood dripping from his lips. Beside me, Alven sat, gasping for air, and we were all on the brink of collapse ,maybe death as well.Ronan was aware of our suffering, butterflies in his belly I think.Standing at the center of the room, arms crossed and a smirk on his face, he looked at us with delight. Selene, the woman he had introduced the night before, leaned against the door, her eyes coldly amused. Though she hadn't spoken much, I sensed she posed the greatest threat.Tina was seen standing at the corner, no longer a captive but now a si
Gwen POVPain. That was the first thing I faced.A persistent ache boiled in my head, my wrists aching from the tight ropes there tied me like I was a goat, and my shoulders were sore from remaining in one uncomfortable position for too long. I was alive. That was evident. But perhaps I wished to be otherwise because the pain was so unbearable. The last memory I had was from the battlefield: Ronan, Caius, the damages of war. Blood was everywhere. Liam was trying to breathe as Ronan's blade struck him dangerously. Alven fought three opponents at once before one delivered a devastating blow to his head. I was trying to fight, but I was simply overpowered. And now?We had been defeated....I forced my eyes open, blinking against the faint light. My vision was blurry and my throat soared. Everywhere smells funny, thick with the stench of blood, sweat, and rusted metals and boots.I was in a dungeon.Seated on the cold stone floor, my hands were tied behind me, my legs shaking from remaini
Gwen POVThe air was so heavy with the smell of blood and spoilt boots. The bodies of the treacherous bastards elders lay still on the ground like logs of wood, their betrayal met with the same violence they had plotted against me and that is brutal death. Ronan had disappeared again. He slipped from my grasp like a fleeting shadow in the air. And Tina? She was imprisoned in chains and that is where she should be, unconscious, but I knew better than to consider her defeated too strong. For a moment, I allowed myself to inhale deeply. But it wasn't over I know more things are still at stake. Not by a long shot tho....I turned to Liam and Alven, both stained with blood and dirt, breathing heavily from the fight. Their eyes met mine, filled with unspoken and unreadable questions. This had become more than a struggle for the throne. It was a fight for survival because everything now look jinxed. And I couldn't tell if we had truly triumphed in this encounter or if we had unknowlly steppe
