I must have her

Hayden's POV.

Looking around the people in the area, I noticed a distinct aura among the people and I can tell the soul is different and has been through pain and suffering. I came out of the carriage to fish out who it was in particular. I saw the owner of the aura and I could tell that she had been through a lot, I asked the guard next to me who she was, and I could see that there was something she was known for, and it must be so bad that the guard knew her already, I think that it will take the guards days, but it seems he has the details about her with just a glance.

"I need her here" I commanded the guard.

"I don't think she is the right person to be around, Your Highness," the guard said to me.

"I just require her here," I said.

Without waiting for the guards to help me call her, I did myself, "Hey lady, stop walking away and turn around back here". She turned around, and it seemed as if she was trembling. It made me wonder if my tone had been too harsh and gave the wrong idea.

The moment I saw her eyeball, I knew we were meant to be, and we had to be together, she is surely the one made for me by the moon goddess, and she is the one that captivates my wolf. It is the first time I will be having this feeling, and yet I feel so confident about it and have no doubt.

Me?" She asked me with her shaky voice.

I nodded affirming that it was her that I meant, she started walking towards me but as she did, I noticed the villagers having some conversations between themselves and some making way for her as if they didn't want to make contact with her. All this seems strange, but yet I want to know this lady before me. She came closer, and then I asked for her name, "What is your name?" I inquired.

" Lilian, my lord," she replied.

Her voice sounds too angelic to be real, looking into her sky blue eyeball I felt captivated and more drawn to the moon.

"You live here?" I asked her and in response, she nodded.

"Are you going to be free later today?" I asked. The people in the surrounding pack paid more attention, and some were surprised that I was asking her out on a date. She looked at me and the moment our eyes met she looked away, "Am afraid not, your Highness,"  she said.

There was a loud gasp among the people that called my attention to them, and it was then I fully recovered from the trace I had been into as a result of her beauty that I had never been told before. "I think we need to leave this area, Your Highness, '' the guard with me said, and I fully understood what she meant.

All of a sudden and unaware an old lady ran to us with an umbrella in her hand, she started hitting Lilian with the umbrella and mustered what seems to be a mourning statement; "You want to bewitch him like you did to my son and then later kill him like you did with the rest.?"

Rex, the guard next to me, quickly stopped her, but I stopped Rex and grabbed Lilian. I faced the carriage and advanced there. Lilian was reluctant, but then she looked back and saw the mass behind, she succumbed and followed me into the carriage. We got into the carriage and said nothing to each other for a while. I felt she needed time to process what was going on, and maybe she was ashamed of the way the lady harassed her. I would like to know why, but I couldn't ask her for the full details.

"I was her son's mate and then a few weeks after our consummation he died, just like the other four did. '' Lilian said as she looked at me without remorse.

"You don't have to try that hard to make me hate you. I know you felt that bond too, and I am not the only one that did" I said to her with a smirk.

"You must have never been in this pack before to have never heard about me and my condition," she said while still maintaining a straight face.

At this junction, I knew she meant what she was saying, and she was sane and not, "something can be done about it, we can try to consult some sorcerer or anything similar" I said to her.

"Your Highness thanks for the kind gesture, I did like to alight here and stop being a burden to you," she said to me but this time she was looking away.

"You are not a burden, and I can take you right to wherever you want to be in this pack," I said with a smile.

"That's being a burden to me, and also I would like to stay away now for my safety so as not to be attacked again," She said.

I felt her point and asked the guard to stop the carriage for her to take her leave, believing if we were strongly meant to be together, we would meet again.

She alighted, took her bow, and then turned around, "Lilian" I called from behind, and she turned around at me.

"See you soon," I said with a smile on my face.

She turned and went, and my wolf sought, instinctively, to follow her. At that moment, my mind raced, determined to make sure she was mine, and mine alone. The thought consumed me, transporting me to a realm where my conscious desires coexisted with the primal tendencies of my inner wolf.

I felt a surge of happiness sweep through me as I said to my soul, "It's time to take her as ours." I grew closer to my wolf, and we came to an unconscious understanding to work together to achieve this goal.

"I will assert my ownership over her, and it must happen swiftly," I resolved, acknowledging the urgency of making her exclusively mine. The realization sparked a cascade of emotions, blending the human complexities of desire and the untamed essence of the wolf within.

The way the wolf's instinctive needs and human knowledge interacted throughout the hunt created a mesmerizing image of possession, longing, and the unexplored realms of the heart and spirit. The search for her turned into a tribute to the complex dance that takes place between the wild side and the refined self as they compete for mastery in the service of a common goal.

"No matter what it takes, I must have her."
