Sixteen

On a normal circumstances, Alpha Maxwell hated leaving the pack with convoys, but today, something inside clicked on him, and he decided to go to the hospital with convoys without sirens.

As they arrived at the hospital, the guards got down the car and opened the Alpha's car door hastily, then other groups of guards spread red carpet where he will walk through the hospital.

It's a tradition that Xenia found strange but cute, that's power speaking.

Alpha Maxwell majestically dropped his feet on the carpet, and wear his sunglasses, he got out of the car and extended his hands for Xenia.

She smiled and placed her hands in his, and he walked her out of the car.

Patients had already gathered, staring at the Alpha and his Luna.

"I'm so glad you were able to make it on time." The doctor exclaimed, as she approached them.

"Of course, I can't risk my Luna's health." Maxwell replied and looked at Xenia, she also glanced at him and their eyes met, she looked away immediately, feeling shy.

"Come with me, please." The doctor said and took the lead while they followed her.

"You all, wait outside." Alpha Maxwell ordered and they obeyed after bowing.

Martin parked his cat a few meters from where the Alpha's car was parked.

He watched as Xenia and Maxwell entered the hospital, and he knew this won't be the right time for him to shoot as they are surrounded with guards, and he will easily be arrested, plus, the place is already crowded, not good for a target.

"Please have your seat, and make yourself comfortable." The doctor said warmly and removed her laboratory coat then took her seat.

"how are you feeling, Luna Xenia?" She asked.

"I'm much better, doc." Xenia answered.

"I can see…the Alpha is taking good care of you, right, Alpha Maxwell." She giggled.

"He does, more than you can ever imagine." Xenia replied and beamed.

"That's great for your health. I will run some blood tests for you in the laboratory, and then we will go for an ultrasound, but for now, I will like to check your pulses and your blood pressure." The doctor exclaimed.

Xenia looked a little frightened.

"Um, doctor, does any of that hurts? She looked, um, scared." Alpha Maxwell muttered.

The doctor laughed a bit and took her eyes off her computer.

"Not really, but the blood test will be a little bit painful as I will have to poke a needle to get her blood out for the sample." She answered.

Maxwell squeezed his face.

"Don't worry, it won't be too painful, okay? I will wait for you here while you get the blood test done." Alpha Maxwell said.

"Can you come with me, please?" Xenia asked, making a puppy face.

"Can I come with her, doctor?" Maxwell asked the doctor.

"Sure, what the Luna wants, the Luna gets it." The doctor winked.

The test was done and Maxwell helped Xenia placed a cotton on her arm, where the blood sample was taken.

Xenia kept on pouting, claiming it was so painful, while the doctor giggled, knowing that Xenia is just been a baby as it's not as painful as she claimed it to be.

"So, your heart beat is normal, and your blood pressure is medium. Let's check the babies." The doctor said and ticked some dots on a book, then made Xenia laid on a long bed. Alpha Maxwell was holding on to her hands throughout.

"Are you Ready?" Doctor Nadia asked.

Xenia nodded, her hands trembling slightly as doctor Nadia prepared the ultrasound machine.

She applied the gel, and the probe glided across Xenia's belly.

The screen was brought to life and suddenly, three tiny beings appeared, their hearts beating in synchronicity.

"Oh my God!" Xenia Mumbled as tears streamed down her face.

She got so emotional and looked at Maxwell, he looked excited seeing them.

She felt a bit of anger stroke in her as seeing the babies made her remembered Alpha Phaedro, he almost took them away from her during the beating.

"He will never see you three, I will never let him see you ever."

She said in her mind as the doctor, Nadia continued the ultrasound.

"So, everything looked good to me. The babies seemed to be very excited in there. Just make sure you take your drugs on time. Alpha Maxwell, please ensure she took her medication on time." Doctor Nadia urged as she walked them back to the car.

"You can trust me on that." Alpha Maxwell said with a smirk.

The guards opened their car and they entered.

Doctor Nadia waved at them as they drove off.

Martin came out and entered his car, and sped off, trilling behind Alpha Maxwell's convoys.

The next stop was the shopping mall.

Xenia had no idea where Maxwell takes her to as they arrived in front of a massive building.

"Shall we?" He asked and she nodded.

He took her hands as usual, and they walked into the building.

The receptionist welcomed them in, that's when Xenia realized they are at a shopping mall.

"Welcome, your highness. I will call the manager." The receptionist showing her full set of teeth in a smile and rushed to call the Manager.

"What…what are we doing here?" Xenia asked, staring around.

"I wasn't able to give you a proper showing when you were unconscious, and I figured out you need more clothes. That's why we are here." Alpha Maxwell answered.

She blushed.

"But that's not really necessary, I already have enough." Xenia protested.

"I insist." Alpha Maxwell said and pulled her nose slightly.

The manager arrived, and he was so happy to see Alpha Maxwell.

"I had been expecting you since. Welcome, Alpha Maxwell, and Luna…"

"Xenia.". Maxwell completed as he saw the manager struggling to remember her name.

"Yes, Luna Xenia. Pleasure to have you here." He said.

"Thank you." Xenia replied.

"We will go around, and she will try looking for the clothes she likes. Stacy around as we may need your help.” Maxwell ordered.

"Yes, your highness." The manager replied and Maxwell started walking around.

"The place is huge." Xenia commended, as Maxwell pushed the basket.

"Yeah, I owned it." Maxwell said, and she stopped walking with her mouth hung.

"You own this gigantic place? Why?" Xenia asked, widening her eyes.

"I don't know, but now I do know. So that my Luna can shop without stress. Hey, look at this, it will fit you so well." Alpha Maxwell answered and saw a beautiful dress that caught his attention.

He dropped it in the basket, and Xenia was grateful he was sparing time just for her.

Soon, they were done with the shopping and Xenia had so much fun.

They walked out of the mall, with Maxwell holding the big bags, they will have to walk up to the mall compound as that was where the Alpha had ordered his guards to wait.

As they approached the compound, Martin, Anabelle's stepfather, saw it as the perfect opportunity, and he pulled his gun and targeted it on Xenia.

He pulled the trigger and shoot.

"Xenia!" Alpha Maxwell screamed as he saw the bullet coming, he pushed her to the ground and the bullet ended up hitting him.

"Alpha Maxwell!" Xenia screamed.

Her voice shrill with horror.

She fell on her feet, her eyes widened, and her hands covered her mouth.

Martin's eyes widened in shock, his gun still smoking.

He took a step back, looking scared.

"I…the Alpha! No, oh my God! I didn't mean to…" He stuttered.
