Twenty five

Xenia was done with her presentation and the Alpha's were jaw dropped.

At first, they thought she was just a pretty face and won't give a good presentation, but she ended up giving the best.

Her analysis, her examples, and her demonstrations caused her a loud applaud at the end of the presentation.

Beta Dimitri watching her was full of pride, he felt bad forever doubting her and thinking Alpha Maxwell made a mistake by granting her such massive power, but he was mistaken and he realized it.

Xenia is special, talented, and hardworking, and the smile on his face gave Xenia the strength to continue speaking as she knew she was on point.

The purpose of the gathering was for the pack Alpha's to discuss the development, problems, and advancements of their packs and with Xenia's presentation, they came to the end of it.

Xenia was stopped by lots of Alphas commanding her, she couldn't stop smiling.

"What a remarkable presentation you gave, congratulations." An Alpha said.

"Thank you, your highness." Xenia replied, and he did a salute sign before leaving.

"In as much as your presentation was good, but I do not recommend a woman joining us in an all Alpha's gathering next time. I mean, you are just a woman, aren't you supposed to be at home, cooking, cleaning and giving birth? I will advise you freely to next time stay in your lane and do not involve politics in your life." An Alpha said and his word's broke Xenia's heart.

Her smile faded, the hall was in silence.

It seems like none of the other Alphas were supporting him, he was just being a gender biased pervert.

"Your highness, with all due respect. Your perspective about women is wrong, and you are wrong." Xenia stated, everyone gasped.

"You said I did an awesome presentation, huh? Then why can't you accept that one good thing comes from a woman? Is your ego too big to accept that women can be great leader's, public speakers and even involve in politics? Women are smart, they are your mother's, and if you as an Alpha could think like this, then I really pitied your subjects because they were chosen the wrong Alpha." Xenia exclaimed bravely, and the Alpha bowed his head in shame.

Xenia was so angered by his words she felt like punching him.

"My husband had fate in me as a woman and I did not disappoint him. Women can be great, they only need support and encouragement not discouragement from people like you, who mistakenly became an Alpha because an Alpha is not biased. I guess you just became an Alpha by luck." Xenia spat and everyone laughed.

The Alpha was so embarrassed he barged out of the hall.

"We truly apologize for what he said. Let's just say, some people think differently." An Alpha said.

"My pleasure." Xenia smiled and excused herself, beta Dimitri went with her.

"I'm so glad you gave him the lesson of his life, you were so brave, aww." Beta Dimitri said, laughing sarcastically.

"I'm her Alpha's mate, so what did you expect." Xenia said and flipped her hair proudly.

"I guess someone's head is gonna burst soon with pride." Beta Dimitri teased.

Xenia glared at him and rolled her eyes.

"Ouch, I was only joking. You did a fantastic job and in as much as I hate to admit, you made us proud." Beta Dimitri exclaimed.

Xenia beamed.

"You have finally admitted something good about me." Xenia said.

Beta Dimitri was about to respond when he sighted a shadow of someone holding a paperboard, and his eyes were on Xenia.

"Wait." He said to Xenia and started heading to the direction.

"Where are you going and leaving me alone?" Xenia asked as it was just the both of them, Roselyn had left to get a drink for Xenia.

Before she realized what's going on, she saw someone running and Beta Dimitri running after that person who made her confused to what's going on.

Roselyn worriedly came to her.

"You have to be in the car, your highness, it's not safe anymore." Roselyn said.

"But..." Xenia tried to ask.

"Please, your highness, I don't have any explanation, just come with me." Xenia replied and pulled Xenia hurriedly.

Xenia looked back at the gathering as she was taken abruptly before it completely ended.

Roselyn brought her to the car and some guards followed the Beta for some back up.

Beta Dimitri chased after the man, his long legs running faster. Beta Dimitri used his skills and threw a large stone on the man, and he fell on the ground.

Then he grabbed the man's arm, spinning him around. The man struggled, but Beta Dimitri's grip was too strong. His paperboard fell on the ground in the process. He pinned the man against the tree.

The man's eyes darted around, searching for a way to escape. He knew the risk involves when he gets arrested spying on Red Claw's Luna, it's a death sentence.

He tried to break free, but Beta Dimitri held him strongly and the backup guards arrived and surrounded him, tying him up with ropes.

Beta Dimitri searched him, finding a paperboard with a full portrait of Xenia.

His face rose with anger and searched more, he saw a flag, a flag of their enemies, Silver glow pack. His eyes narrowed angrily.

"Take him to the car!" Beta Dimitri ordered, still holding the portrait. He wondered why would someone from Silver Glow wants a portrait of Xenia.

Finally, the guards took the man away, and Beta Dimitri returned to Xenia's side, his face still stern with concern.

"What's going on?" Xenia asked, and he handed her the portrait.

"The Man was drawing you, and he is from…Silver Glow." Beta Dimitri answered, and fear ran through Xenia.

"Silver Glow? Alpha Phaedro!" She muttered, her eyes widened and her body already shaking.

Beta Dimitri didn't understand why she looked scared.

"Yes, but do you know him or have something to do with him?" Dimitri asked.

"Please…take me back to the palace."

Xenia answered, ad mist tears.

Roselyn and Beta Dimitri were surprised at her reaction.

"Sure, but please calm down, you are safe."

Beta Dimitri said and Roselyn tried calming her down, but she couldn't.

"What if he finds me…what…" She murmured, wiping sweat over her face.

Roselyn only watched her silently as the driver started the engine and drove away.
