Alpha Maxwell waited for Xenia's reaction, and it seems he was forcing her to bathe him, so he forced a smile.

“I was just kidding, I will do it myself." He said and started struggling to removed his shirt, but the groaned so loud as his hand hurts so badly.

"Your highness!" Xenia yelled and rushed to him.

"It's okay, I will bathe you. Just don't stress yourself okay." Xenia exclaimed, helping him remove his shirt while his eyes are on her.

Her closeness gave a chilling sensation to his body which he loved.

"Are you doing it because I forced you to?" Alpha Maxwell asked.

Xenia swept her hair back, as she focused on unbuttoning his shirt.

"Not at all. You are in this condition because of me, you are my responsibility now." Xenia smiled and finally removed the shirt.

She gasped, staring at his muscles, his well built body and sexy abs and six packs.

She was drooling.

"Be sure not to pour saliva on me because you are drooling way too much." Maxwell teased.

She quickly moved back, feeling embarrassed.

"I…I…"

"Hey, I was just kidding, drool all you want, I'm yours, and so my body." His words made her blushed, but she quickly hides it by making a firm face.

Not that she doesn't want to give Alpha Maxwell a chance, but she just wants to take things slow and not rush into it, which might in turn cause a repetition to what happened between her and Alpha Phaedro at Silver glow.

"I will warm the water." Xenia said, finding an escape and dashed into the bathroom, staring at herself in the mirror and her red tomato cheeks.

His sexy body flashed back to her, she turned the tab on and washed her face, taking a deep breath.

"It's just a body, Xenia, chill." She muttered.

"Our mate is so hot, you have to give him a chance already, you are denying me my right." Her mate Emma scolded.

"Shut up!" Xenia growled and fixed herself together and set the shower on before returning to the bedroom where Alpha Maxwell was.

"Your bath is ready, shall we?" Xenia asked.

He held the bed with his other hand for support and stood up, he is still very weak.

"Yes." He said and walked slowly to her and when he reached the bathroom, she gave him a hand and supported him to the inside of the bathroom.

Xenia helped Alpha Maxwell into the bathtub, his eyes fixed on hers. She gently placed him down into the warm water, her hands touching his skin making her heart race faster. A feeling of emotions ran through her, and touching his body made her feel hot down there.

She licked her lips nervously and decided to stay positive and do what she is supposed to do, so she began to wash his body, her hands moved gentle over his muscles, feeling his strength. Alpha Maxwell closed his eyes, enjoying her touch, his face relaxed.

Xenia's heart beat faster, She felt a spark between them, a connection she couldn't ignore, of course he is her Mate, her second chance.

Alpha Maxwell opened his eyes, looking up at her, his gaze intense.

"Thank you." Alpha Maxwell muttered.

"You are welcome, your highness." Xenia answered, catching a breath.

As she continued to wash him, their eyes locked, the tension between them growing. Xenia felt like she was drowning in his gaze, her heart melting.

Finally, she finished, her hands lingering on his skin. She helped him out of the bathtub, his hand brushing against hers, sending cool shivers down her spine.

Xenia wiped his hair with a towel and his hair was dripping hot.

"I will go get you something to wear." Xenia exclaimed and left to the dressing room.

She checked through Maxwell's closest and gosh, luxury speaks.

She was confused at some point as to which outfit she should choose for him, and she later settled for a blue shirt and a white suit.

"This will look so good on you." She muttered as she entered the bedroom.

"How do you know that's my favorite shirt."

Maxwell chuckled.

"I didn't know, I just guess. Guess I'm smart, yeah?" Xenia giggled.

"Of course, my Luna is smart. Please dress me up before I get cold." Maxwell muttered, making her laughed a bit.

She dressed him up and the door was knocked.

"Are you expecting someone?" Maxwell frowned, he didn't want someone to interrupt the sweet moment he is having with Xenia.

"No, might be beta Dimitri, let me check." Xenia said and headed to the door and opened it.

She saw the doctor.

"Oh, doctor, come on, in." Xenia widely smiled and let him in.

"Greetings, Alpha Maxwell." The doctor greeted, removing an injection from his box.

"Greetings doctor." Maxwell greeted back.

Xenia returned and sat next to Maxwell.

"How is his health? My Luna?" The doctor inquired.

"He had a very high fever yesterday's night and I thought of calling you, but it was already late, but he is much better now. I'm scared the fever will come back tonight again." Xenia answered.

"If it's means waking up to that sight I saw this morning, then I will love for the fever to come back." Maxwell mumbled.

"Shut up!" Xenia scolded him in a whisper and hit his arm.

"Ouch! That hurts." Maxwell groaned, and the doctor smiled at them.

"Don't worry about the fever, I will give him some injection, but I'm still emphasizing he should have lots of rest, if possible, sleep all day, that might help." The doctor instructed.

"I will try my best to ensure he rest, Doctor. He can be very stubborn at times." Xenia glared at him.

"Okay, that was false accusations, doctor, she is the stubborn one." Alpha Maxwell protested.

"No, he is…"

"Enough, let's not blame anyone, okay." The doctor pleaded, as the argument wasn't ending.

The door opened and it's Beta Dimitri.

"Your highness, how is your health? Greetings Luna Xenia." Beta Dimitri said as soon he enters.

"You could have knocked, Dimitri." Alpha Maxwell stated.

"I'm so sorry, your highness, there is an emergency, that requires your urgent attention." Beta Dimitri replied.

"Emergency? No, I'm sorry, but I will not let him get out of this chamber no matter what. Yesterday he was fighting for his life, I won't take the risk." Xenia stated.

"I agree with her highness, the Alpha needs a lot of rest." The doctor joined.

Maxwell was only staring at how much Xenia cared for him.

"What's the emergency, Beta?" Maxwell asked.

"There is a meeting with all the packs that we have signed peace treaty with, and you have to attend." Beta Dimitri answered.

"Xenia, will you like to attend on my behalf?"

Alpha Maxwell exclaimed.

"What? Me?"

"What! Xenia?" Both Xenia and Beta Dimitri gasped.

"Yes, remember she holds the sword of power, she can make decisions on behalf of me, and that includes representing me in meetings and other seminars." Alpha Maxwell said with so much affirmation.

"But…I don't know…"

"Beta Dimitri will put you through. I know you can do it, Xenia. You are my mate, my Luna and I see strength in your face, so, can you please do this for me?" Alpha Maxwell pleaded, with a puppy eyes.

Xenia looked at Dimitri, and he didn't look angry.

"Fine, I will go on your behalf." Xenia said, looking unsure.
