Chapter 26 –The Queen and Her Scythe
Standing inside the battleground now made Solene feel more like an ant. The arena was even larger at this angle. Even more imposing. Even more suffocating. She could feel the heat of the many eyes on her: some curious of what she looked like, some with lust simply because she was a woman, and some with the intent to torture her.Solene controlled her knees and hands from shaking and walked forward onto a circular platform on her front. There was no going back now. Fighting her opponents was the only answer to her problem.
“Our Lady Grim Reaper is ready!” She heard Caym shout behind her. “Let’s start the tournament then!”
With that, the audience roared again.

Chapter 28 – The Queen HiddenThey all looked like red ants walking towards an anthill ready to serve their queen’s whims. Hope cursed at herself and this situation. Why did she pose as a concubine in the first place? Why didn’t she volunteer as a servant instead? Both had pros and cons, but at least servants get to run around the castle more freely than a concubine.Like the other towers, the eighth was connected to the main castle through an open bridge, but it could be accessed too on the ground. Chapter 29 – The Queen Meets Her OpponentOnce again, Mistress Nakti was disappointed to see Solene not dressed in a gown for the party.
