(Cassie's POV)

I turned, only to have strong arms wrap around my waist. A silly smile broke on my face and I sighed happily. Then reality hit me and I snapped my eyes open.

I quickly sat up and noticed I'm in Jace's shirt. I turned to the bare chested person beside me and it was him.

“Oh no, no, no, no, no!” I cried in a tiny voice, my hands automatically flying to my lower body.

I heard a chuckle beside me.

“Don't worry; I didn't take it that far” Jace smirked.

“What happened?” I asked, trying not to panic.

All I remembered was kissing Jace back. Then Michael interrupted us and we got back to the house when Elise said he was going to be fine. And I agreed to share the bed just to keep an eye on him.

“You got a little feverish last night. So my mom—”

“Ow?” he chuckled.

“Next time I'm aiming for your jaw” I warned.
